Tom Works Heating & Cooling

This is the second time we have used Tom Works in the last 3 years for installation/repairs and we couldn't be happier with his professionalism and thoroughness. He does not do any unnecessary repairs and is careful about insuring quality work. He is punctual and cares about providing service in a timely manner. We would highly recommend.

Tom was very responsive and reliable about repairing this unit last year and replacing it when it could no longer be repaired this summer. His prices are reasonable and we appreciate his professionalism.

This provider was sent by American Home Shield Home Warranty. This was his second visit and since he didn't repair the problem the first time, I was abundantly clear that I would only use his service if the repair on the oil gauge was covered by AHS. H e confirmed that the repair was covered. A few days later, he called to tell me they wouldn't pay him because the repair was not covered. Today, I received his bill. I have no choice but to pay because I don't want a mechanic's lien on my house, but this guy is dishonest and I will never allow him in my house again.

He's really good. We used him a couple of times. He's very responsive and credible to his pricing. We get the value that we expected.

Tom was great! He was punctual, hard working, and is an excellent communicator. He worked hard to get the job done in a timely manner and always cleaned up after he was done at the end of the day. We had some issues with one of the systems he installed and he took care of contacting the manufacturer and fixing the problem until it worked properly. Tom is just an overall nice guy and has good customer service, following up on his work. We would definitely recommend him and hire him for future work.

Tom was just wonderful and very helpful. I did not know at the time but Tom was on vacation when I called. He still returned my call. We made arrangements for him to come see how much the job would cost. His price was lower than two others. He also told me about a $1900.00 rebate I was eligible for but did not know about. We had to have some workers come in to remove the asbestos and old boiler. Tom came back to Spfld. to check and to make sure all was going as it should. He told me it would take about a day and a half to remove the asbestos and old boiler. Which it did. The following Monday Tom came to install the new boiler. He also fixed some other small problems I had. I didn't even have to ask him to do them. He got the job done fast and efficiently. Cleaned up after himself every time he worked at my house. I had my house up for sale and it was sold just a day or so before the installation was complete. Tom reassured me he would be happy to talk to the new owners to explain whatever they wanted or needed to know about the new boiler. The new owners told me he did give them a run down on the boiler. Tom did the work in a very timely manner and did a great job. One other very nice thing he did was, he called me about a month after the installation just to see how I was doing. I am elderly but I never expected him to be so considerate of an old lady. I recommend him very highly.

He didn't charge an estimate. He was reliable, honest, and I was very happy with him.

Tom arrived on time was efficient professional and answered all of my questions. I have used him since for smaller jobs but thought you should know about a big one. I plan on using him for future jobs installing heat ducts in the basemen and updating central air.

Once again i selected a contractor with a ( A ) rating list on Angie's list. I called and left him a message of the type of work i needed. I never heard anything back from him. Maybe i'm out of his work location but you would think he could tell me that?

I had a leak in my ceiling from the HVAC unit. I spoke with him and he said he would get it done, he called me back a week later and said he was finally getting around to the job. He showed up the 1st time without the correct equipment and had to come back the next day. He doesn't have great communication skills, the leak didn't get fixed until two weeks after the first contact.

I highly recommend him. He was extremely honest and reliable. The biggest heating and cooling company in the area came out to service the furnace and tried to convince me that I needed a new furnace for 6000 Dollars. I thought it was the middle of winter, and they were going to send a salesman, so while we were waiting for a salesman, I called Tom works for a second opinion. He came out and said there was nothing wrong with the furnace, it was the motor. Instead of spending 6000 Dollars, we ended up spending 645 and he completely fixed the problem, and guaranteed the work. If the heater had gone out again, I would have just given him a call. I thought Tom works could have done the same thing, and we wouldn't have known a thing. We have to trust that these people are telling you the truth. We have another heater in an indoor pool, and he is going to be installing a new heater there, and I won't even thing about using someone else. If he can't come, he will probably call you and tell you, so that you are not left hanging. He is supposed to be here today, but he can't make it, so he will be here tomorrow.

Replaced a condensing pump for the HVAC system in the house. Went great, quicker than I expected. Tom is definitely a professional.

Tom was prompt, professional and informative, I am actually hiring him for other jobs.

Tom was very good. He showed up and personally gave me an initial quote and this quote was exactly what the installation ended up costing. I got quotes from five other providers in the area and Tom was the lowest. Even if he wasn't the lowest, I probably would have picked him anyway since he obviously knew what he was doing from the way he explained how everything would be installed and the sequence of events from the time the gas company put their meter in to the final inspection. I was very impressed with how the piping was installed and how the unit was mounted and vented. He also installed a hard-wired carbon monoxide\smoke detector next to the unit. Excellent workmanship all around and now I have a 96% efficient gas boiler instead of an oil boiler that is 3 times the size needed for my house.

Tom Works was easy to reach and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. He said he didn't want to open the outside electrical box if it was still raining, so we made a tentative appointment. The rain stopped mid-morning, so I called Tom and he said he would be over within 2 hours. He came as promised. Tom was very communicative and explained the systems as he went through his check. The A/C was working well, but he thought it could use a freon "boost" to work even more efficiently, so he did that. Hopefully this will help with cooling costs this Summer. I was pleased with his work and will use him again. He even gave me the Angie's list discount without asking for it. Very nice, competent guy and I would recommend him to anyone.

On 06/01/2013, called inquiring about servicing our Central Air Conditioner. Mr. Anderson returned our call promptly and we provided him information about our heating and air condition needs. We scheduled an open date and time for Mr. Anderson to come and inspect and service the air conditioning unit. Mr. Anderson arrived on the date and time indicated and thoroughly inspected and serviced our unit. The cost was very reasonable for a unit that had not been serviced in 7 years. I would recommend Mr. Anderson. We have Mr. Anderson on our speed dial in case we need our heating or our air conditioning unit taken care of. Professional, prompt, does what he says and follows through.

He was professional. He was responsive. He called to tell me he was running 15 minutes late. He explained what he was doing in clear, concise manner. I will use him again next year for my annual AC cleaning.

This was the first time I used Tom's, and selected him based on his excellent reviews on Angie's. I was not disappointed. He arrived right on time. My a/c unit is in the attic which is messy to access as I have blown-in insulation up there. Tom had no problem going into the attic and checking out the equipment there, as well as the condenser unit outside, and turned it on for a good test run. He was very thorough and gave me good information about the equipment and tips on what filters to use and how to prepare it for winter. He even gave me a senior discount. He was a pleasure to deal with and I plan to continue to call on him whenever a need arises.

Tom was the 3rd plumber I called to give me an estimate on relocating the gas pipe stub that feeds my new gas range so it would not stand out so far from the adjacent countertop in the kitchen. He identified three approaches and we settled on the most satisfactory to me. He indicated that it would take less than two hours. His price less was than the others had indicated, and because he had the time now, I told him to go right ahead. He had the parts on his truck and completed the work in little more than an hour. Including relighting the pilot on the water heater after he turned the gas to the house back on. It wound up costing me less that I expected.

Talked with Tom. Set up a time to meet. He was on time gave me a price, picked up the new heater and installed. Very happy.John

I called several places. Tom promptly returned my call and spent time with me on the phone discussing the problem, possible solutions and when he could arrive. He arrives exactly as he said he would and called me after the repair to discuss the "fix." I actually had to leave him at my home while I went to a meeting. NO PROBLEMS...he locked up when he left and was very professional...even took care of my cat!
