The project went smoothly with only marginal setbacks imposed by poor weather conditions. The foundation, electrical and mechanical subs selected, all met or exceeded the project time lines. The only expection was the HVAC sub contractor that fell behind schedule due to over scheduling of other commerical projects. Thompson did a good job applying the necessary pressure on the HVAC contractor to meet the desired expectation. We also made many design changes during the construction phase. Originally the building was only one story, we later modified the plan to include a partial second story to serve as an office space. Thompson Construction was flexable and worked with us to provide structural solutions and modifications as our design objectives changed. Thompson had no problem leaving the confines of the "fixed price" contract in favor of "time and materials" for the numerous building design changes. The framing, cedar siding, roofing and outside finish work were completed by the Thompson brothers. Overall quality and attention to detail was excellent. The buildings price tag was competitive with realized quality of workmanship for a good price. Thompson Construction was also integral in the design and preparation of the site. Grading, surface water management and landscaping recommendations were also addressed by the general contractor. We agreed that 80-90% of the landscaping would be completed prior to completion of the building. This approach minimized the need for landscaping services during the wet and mudding spring months. There was virtually no damage to the landscaping or plantings during the remainder of the building process. Thompson did a good job mitigating potential damage to the landscaping by tight control and oversite of the numerous sub-contractors.
