They did a great job

Ray was involved with the project throughout. He did the sales call and was there during installation with his crew. He was very helpful during the design process (he suggested putting more ornate fence near the road where it's visible and more plain/less expensive fence in the back.) The finished product was excellent, both the quality of the material and installation.

The estimate appointment appeared fine. The follow-up email was straightforward. Then suddenly two days letter I receive an email back saying they took on a large job and could not accept any new work for the remainder of the fence season. Then I realized that I also sent a contact form to this company a few months earlier on 8-30 but they never replied. This doesn't seem right to me. And, when he was here during the estimates appointment he was the type that likes to "pry" things open or move things, then he broke something on my property. I emailed him about it but he never replied back to me again. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. BY DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS TYPE OF COMPANY, YOU ARE ENCOURAGING THEM TO ACT THIS LIKE WHENEVER THEY FEEL ABOUT IT - EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A PLEASANT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP DURING THE ESTIMATES APPOINTMENT. NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL. IN RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT MADE BY SENTRY FENCE ON 3-28-15: First, you have just plain lied. You did have an appointment with me on 10-14-14. And I have the email that you replied to also. You clearly just said that you did not have an appointment with me. How can anyone trust what you just wrote about me after a clear out right lie? You are the one that is irrational and unprofessional. I never said you did any work for me. Where did you read that? You wrote that I was difficult and irrational. How can you say such a thing? Are getting me confused with someone else? We had one appointment and it went well somewhat, BUT YOU WERE TOTALLY DISTRACTED BY CONTINUOUS LOOKING AT MY NEIGHBOR - I FOUND THAT ODD. Maybe your company was not apt to do the project, so that is a different story. You were the one that was UNPROFESSIONAL DURING THE APPOINTMENT, AND AFTER, NOW LOOKING BACK. ABOUT YOUR ACCUSATIONS ABOUT OTHER FENCE COMPANIES, THERE WERE A FEW AND NOT ALL THAT WERE NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED AT ALL. I HAVE THE EMAILS TO PROVE IT. YOU WERE JUST SIDING WITH THEM AND THAT IS THE REAL ISSUE. YOU DON'T HAVE THE GUTS TO BE PROFESSIONAL AND ACT ON YOUR OWN. SO WHAT IF I DIDN'T WANT TO USE HASTIE FENCE OR A FEW OTHER BIG NAME FENCE COMPANIES -THERE WAS GOOD REASON TO. THEY WERE ULTIMATELY RUDE, AS SHOWN IN THE COMMUNICATION EMAILS I HAVE - WHICH IS PROOF. BUT YOU DON'T CARE TO LISTEN TO FACTS BUT ONLY TO OTHERS. AND YOU CAN JOIN THAT LIST OF UNETHICAL COMPANIES. STILL, YOU ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL ONE BIT AND WILL SIDE AGAINST PEOPLE WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE FACTS. I AM GLAD I DIDN'T DO BUSINESS WITH AN UNETHICAL BUSINESS LIKE YOURS. YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND THERE ARE MANY OTHER CONTRACTORS OUT THERE THE SAME AS YOU, AND SOME CONTRACTORS THAT ARE OF COURSE MUCH MORE ORGANIZED, PROFESSIONAL, RESPECTFUL, ETC. YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THEM.

I received an estimate for a large yard. Sentry's estimate came in a bit higher but the owner came and did the estimate, responded to all emails, and did the work. I wanted good work with someone I could trust and the owner was wonderful to work with. Once the contract was signed he came to do the work within 3 weeks. We were away and he still completed the work. The fence is beautiful and the work is flawless. I would highly recommend Sentry if you want quality fence. They also trimmed all bushes and didn't charge extra for it. Another estimate we received told us we would have to trim back all the bushes.

I thought the installation went fine; however a couple weeks went by and I noticed BIG PILES of refuse orange dirt with rocks in it hidden along the perimeter of my small back yard(I was mowing- preparing for my summer garden). there were small rocks all around the driveway area and rocks mixed with cement. I was told by the owner the brick that was left under the self locking gate was there until the cement dried only to find out the hasp was not drilled in at the proper height for the gate to lock shut without doing manually. I did contact the owner to request he get the dirt out of there (I fixed the hasp)!!, he said he'd be over to check it out. it's been a couple months now - so I don't expect him. no summer garden, no mowing around that area as the mower will not fit any more and no good review!

Didn't receive any work done

Ray, the owner of Sentry Fence Co, gave us an estimate which was in line with other estimates. Ray was at the job site and actively participated in the installation of the fence. The job was completed in less than 2 days. The fence looks beautiful and was exactly what we wanted.

I felt the overall experience with Sentry was excellent. Their prices were competitive and their professionalism was very much appreciated. They were flexible with additional requests and the job was completed on time and at budget. I would highly recommend Sentry for all of your fence needs.

Ray is the owner and is also the guy who came out to give us the initial quote and he and one other guy are the ones who did the work. My wife and I like to support small local businesses so that was one of the reasons we decided to go with Sentry vs the 3 other area quotes we got. Sentry fence was also the cheapest by at least a few hundred bucks, so it worked out. The fence came out beautifully and took about 6 hours in total to complete. The material he used is definitely quality and he even had to do a little problem solving to figure out how to install the fence over the remnants of a tree we had removed last month. The fence is solid and we are pleased with how it looks! The only gripe I have with Sentry is that rescheduled with us twice for an install date. If we had been given adequate notice, this would not have been a big issue at all, but after two hours of waiting at for the crew to show up, we called only to find out that they weren't coming that day due to threats of rain. I totally understand that, just wish he would have called... But other than that, we're very pleased and would use them again!
