I was having a reasonably complicated electrical problem in my subpanel, in which a low power device, such as my sump pump or dishwasher, would trip a 100 amp circuit breaker. I initially tried another electrical contractor (based on a neighbor's recommendation) and they said the problem was due to mice eating the insulation on the wiring. Wrong!! Because this firm failed to identify the problem, my sump pump lost power and my basement flooded!! Based on Angie's List recommendation, I then called Bob and described my problem over the phone to him. Within 1 minute, he suspected a loose wire somewhere in the circuit. He came to my house the same day and within several minutes found the loose wire and re-tightened it. Bob strikes me as a very careful, intelligent and diligent craftsman. He has my highest recommendations. You will be very pleased with his work..

Previously, I had paid for several visits from two other electrical companies that each charged me for replacing bad circuit breakers for appliances that successively stopped working; stove, washer, microwave. When the furnace stopped working, I called Mr. Majowicz for the first time - selecting him from Angie's List. He came out that same day and identified the source of all my problems was water leaking through the electrical panel. He got the furnace working by making temporary repairs but explained that we needed a new panel because of damage caused by the leaks. He would be able to eliminate the cause of the problem by repositioning the cable weatherhead on the roof which should have been vertical to provide protection from the weather but was laying down on the roof allowing water to get into the cable and travel down through the box. He provided me with a detailed estimate of the work needed as well as additional work I requested to be done. He came promptly as scheduled with an assistant and together they completed all the work requested for less that the amount estimated (as we didn't end up needing a new wire run for one of the outlets). I thought his charges were very reasonable and was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He will be my go-to person for all things electrical from now on.

The need to replace the ground wire was discovered during some plumbing work, and Bob was recommended to me by the plumber. I called him, and he got back to me immediately. We played phone tag for a day or so, but he would leave messages on both my home and work voicemails, so I always got his messages. He came out to look at the job the next day. Most of the cost of the job is in the copper wire, which is very expensive right now. He informed me of this up front, and that the entire wire would have to be replaced due the function of the ground (it can't be spliced together). He did try to see if he could somehow make the existing one work, but it was just too short to connect where it was supposed to. Once he got back to me with a bid, we were able to schedule the work within a week (partially due to my schedule - he probably could have come sooner if it wasn't for me). Everything went smoothly and Bob was very personable and informative, explaining exactly what he did.
