It was a huge project that went very well. Dave worked with us in all aspects of the planning and picking of the floor, cabinets, granite and appliances. He worked with the town to procure the correct permits and dealt with the inspectors. The demolition began on schedule and went according to plan. He kept us informed on all aspects of the progress and left the house as clean as possible each night when he left. He worked with us on the layout and went with us to pick out the cabinets and granite. He even went with us to the granite factory to pick out the raw slabs and point out areas that should be removed. As the cabinets and other components began to be delivered he personally inspected each item and was very particular. He rejected a few pieces and worked with the manufacturer to have them replaced. Dave is very picky and his work is meticulous. The ceilings are perfect, the cabinets were installed to perfection. He spent many hours working on details to make the appliances become a part of the cabinets. As with any project, things came up that changed a plan. Dave was very adaptable to our requests and incorporated changes with no issues. Dave designed some custom modifications to the granite and cabinets that were outstanding. The look is beyond what we could have hoped.
Description of Work: Complete renovation of kitchen, living room and family room. New granite counter tops, wood cabinets, new oak floors, removed door frame. He removed a brick wall from eating area. Replaced ceilings in most of the house, new walls in many areas. The beam separating the old dining room from the kitchen was relocated above the ceiling giving an unbroken, open look. All plumbing and electrical was upgraded and replaced. It was a massive job.

Though I am generally satisfied with my refurbished bathroom, I am also disappointed in some of the workmanship. I think he could have done better and for the money I gave him, I think he should have.
Description of Work: I hired Dave to rip out and replace most items in my small and only bathroom. He was prompt and neat and timely. He took out and disposed of my iron tub, fiberglass tub surround, sliding doors, ceiling fan/light and toilet. He removed my sink/cabinet and mirror/medicine cabinet but I disposed of those 3 thing (by donation). I kept my tile floor and he did not need to replace the drywall. He provided a new tub and tub surround, ceiling fan/light and ceiling as well as a new toilet. He removed the light fixtures on either side of my mirror. I purchased my own new sink/cabinet, mirror/medicine cabinet, wall sconces on either side of the mirror. Dave charged me more than the original estimate to install the new medicine cabinet and to prepare the walls for painting. I painted my own walls. He contracted with a plumber and an electrician to connect the sink/toilet and to install the ceiling fan/light. The plumber ended up charging me another $1,000 for work that he said I needed to get done to pass inspection. The plumber left copious amounts of debris in my basement and said he couldn't find a broom, though a shop vac was right in view. Just as the new sink/cabinet was placed in the bathroom, I located extra floor tiles that could have been set under the sink. This would have been a cleaner look but Dave would not remove the sink to lay the tiles down. A talk that would have taken 30 minutes. I had bought the grout mix for him. So the tiles did not go down, just a bunch of grout Dave had taken off the original floor moulding to get the old tub out and the tub in. Part of the moulding was chipped and rather than replacing the whole piece, he just tacked the original and shortened piece back in. So there is space between the moulding and the heating unit. I am not happy with the tub surround, despite his assurance that it was high quality. I wanted a seamless surround, he told me that was impossible because of the small size of my bathroom. So now I have exactly what I didn't want: seams that grow mold and have a yellow-ish goop wheeping out. Also, the ceiling fan vibrates. Dave told me he had to replace the duct path from the fan to the wall cap. However, now I have birds nesting in the wall cap. This had never happened until he replaced the ducting.
