We finally got rid of Seaside in September. We found that they were extremely unprofessional. At first they were easy to deal with but then personnel changed and service was not what it once was. When performing an annual inspection, an overweight employee broke our pull-down stairs going into the attic. He left a note on the counter explaining what happened. Since we weren't living there year round at the time, we didn't discover this until months later. They made no attempt to contact us at our residence. When we contacted them they agreed to pay for replacing the stairs. Our contractor and my husband spent a good deal of time putting in the stairs. When I sent them the bill for $296, they responded with a rude note to us that basically said that we were lying and implying that we could have been sued if their employee had been hurt. They did not realize their employee had left a handwritten note stating what happened and including his weight. I had to take more time to go back to them and they finally paid the bill. After that we started looking for a new company, interviewed several and found one that we went with. I sent a notice of cancellation at the end of our contract term which they acknowledged. The new company removed their out of date equipment and installed their own. Seaside continued to and quot;monitorand quot; our house for an additional month (without any equipment) and then billed us for it. This is not a company you want to do business with. Our new company installed state of the art equipment and we are quite pleased.

SEASIDE ALARMS is an excellent, reliable and professional Cape Cod alarm company that works well with homeowners and businesses across the Cape. We have had them maintain and test our home fire, water and burglar alarm system every year after they installed the total home system in 2005. Their service and products are way above average. We have them maintain the system and it includes an annual test of all the alarm devices (Fire, Water and Burglar) within our home. Best if you have a back-up radio contact with them and their operations center in event the telephone and electric lines fall and telephone service is disrupted as in NJ with SANDY. the radio-backup is expensive over $350 to install and the monitoring fee for that back-up system is about $40 per month or so. Calls to their operations center are answered promply and they work well with the local PD and contractors. The staff is extremley competent, professional and eager to please their customers. SEASIDE ALARMS has been around the Cape for many years and comes highly recommended by a large number of Cape Cod builders. The reason is that they are good and have an excellent record serving Cape businesses and home owners unlike other alarm companies who act as contractors. One problem is once a SEASIDE ALARMS system is installed in your home it is fixed. They do not seem to be too keen on updating the fixed system's technology nor are they interested in looking for or applying some of the Rand D of new systems technology into a home's existing system, such as integrating aspects of those alarm systems offered by XFINITY or ADT --unless of course you want to pay for replacing the entire system. They also tend to take expensive approaches when homeowners could solve some warning --- not alarm --- requirements by using products from RADIO SHACK or HARBOR FREIGHT. So explore all alternatives but in terms of reliability and quality they are probably the best on the Cape.
