I don't like the fact that he did not do proper diagnosis. Offered no resolution. They charge 180$ that's unfair to the client.

Near perfect. Nice people. On time, efficient, quality work. Fair/reasonably priced. Happy to find a great plumber for future needs. Highly recommend.

Rob himself has been to my house three times. He’s always been quick but thorough, explained the repair when asked, and reasonably priced. I’m certain to call him in the future for larger projects when we get to that point with this neat old house. Thanks Rigg’s H&P!

This is a belated review for an issue that cropped up over the New Year's holiday. One of the pipes in our basement started leaking. Rob did an excellent job responding to our issue on new year's eve day and helping us troubleshoot until he could get out to the house after the holiday. He also said to let us know if things got worse, that we would be moved up on the list for the week. Rob did excellent work both on the leaking pipe and a few slow drains. He worked fast and was very professional. He also did a great job explaining things to new homeowners who are still learning!

Rob was very quick to respond and was very reassuring that he'd be able to address the issue. He came in, showed and explained how he came to the conclusion that there was no leak, addressed some other issues and answered all my questions. Very professional and pleasant. Definitely will hire again.

I called and first of all he answered the phone in a very weird and unprofessional way. I said I lived in somerville. I said I had called MANY plumbers and no one will do this simple job and he implied he could. he said text photo and address which I did immediately. then he texts back asking for address which I had already sent AND told him on the phone. I sent address again. finally after much prodding he says somerville is too far away!!!! could have said that on the phone in the first place and saved me the trouble and I would have moved on and made more calls yesterday. I thought I had someone who was agreeing to do the work! unprofessional.

I had frozen pipes from cold weather that had busted over New Years Eve. I contacted Riggs Plumbing and Rob returned my call a short time after leaving a message and advised that he would be there first thing the next morning. He arrived on time and proceeded to diagnose the problem. He also recommended and installed a new shut off valve so that water in other portions of the house can be used if this ever happens again, as opposed to shutting off the entire house. He did have to cut twice in the dining room wall to try to locate where the pipe had busted. He did really good work and I had water back in my house within a few hours. The only issue I had was him not cleaning up after he was done. However, I do recommend him and his work, and would use him again for any plumbing needs. I thought the price was reasonable given I contacted him on New Years Day and he was able to come out the next day.

I was very happy with the price. It ended up being a bigger job than I though, but the price is very good. He had to actually go through one of my walls to replace the pipe. He was here about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. He said it was one of the worse jobs he's ever done. There was junk he had to cut through and go into another pipe into the main step. He was so busy. That's why he came on a Saturday. He did an excellent job. It was a little messy. I had an estimate. He had to replace a pipe in the wall, the U pipe, and it was still clogged. He put in a pump and a plug. There was one more thing I wanted done but there wasn't enough time today. I had a 10% discount. According to the estimate, I thought it was a pretty good cost, considering he had to open up a wall and put up a new pipe. That's a lot of work. He was here at 10:30. The quality was good. He didn't have his helper there so I was helping clean up some stuff. He didn't realize it was going to be that big of a job that it ended up being. The things he didn't get done were downstairs. He took the measurements. He said that should be quick.

I wanted the inside valve replaced with a ball valve and a frost free outdoor faucet. The Angie's List Deal was $149.00 including Faucet, but was going to cost $50 more for the Frost Free Faucet and $60 for the ball valve. $269 Total but they did not show up with the Frost free Faucet, so I told them to forget it.

Fine, he was nice and it was very quick. I would have liked a lower price for the time though.

Very well. I called him in the evening and he came the next morning at 9 a.m. He was on time and found we need new parts. He ordered them to be sent to our home with instructions to call him when they arrive.

All went well. The new water heater was installed and the old one taken away. The outside faucet needed to be adjusted after it was installed. They adjusted it to my liking. The bathroom's cold water faucet was stuck, so he took it apart and was able to grease it and now it work fine.

Rob did a great job on all three projects. Very punctual and performs quality work. I would definitely recommend.

It wasn't that great. We wouldn't use them again. We made sure we stuck to the rate. It seemed like he spent a lot of his time just staring at things and not doing much of everything trying to figure out our system. We asked him to check the copper line to see that it wasn't corroded and all he did was cut back an inch of it and looked at inside of it to see if it was corroded which we could've done. It was corroded but he said it was fine and he attached it back up. His knowledge level wasn't where we wanted it to be. He basically said everything else was fine but we still have low pressure and all the issues we have that we wanted to call him about. He was very kind and nice. He was on time.

Rob was unbelievable. He went above & beyond to install this mechanism and he did it so quickly. He put off other jobs to make sure this particular job was done quickly. Rob was extremely professional & explained everything he was doing in detail so that we would understand how the fan in the can worked. I would highly recommend him to everyone.

This is best told with a story. I live in a two bedroom apartment in downtown Boston that is approximately 1,000 square feet. The apartment has always had shared laundry service on the first floor but I was determined to get a washer and dryer installed in the apartment somehow. The best place to put things was in a closet that neither had any existing plumbing nor was near any other plumbing. Putting it anywhere else would have required knocking down some walls and would have been much less convenient. The two ways to get plumbing into this closet were to go through the floor or the ceiling. Going through the floor would have been a huge project because the hardwood would have needed to be pulled up and there was no guarantee that we would have gotten the pitch we needed for the drainage. The ceiling was difficult because the drainage would also have to go through the ceiling, meaning we needed some sort of pump to get the drainage water pushed up 10 feet in the air to meet up with the existing drain pipes. I had two contractors look at this job prior to reaching out to Rob. One told me it would cost $6,000 and the other said it was too complicated and they didn't want to touch it. Rob came in, told me that it was complicated but also outlined what could go wrong and how we would address it f it did. He spent about a week crawling around in a drop ceiling, tapping into existing pipes and getting everything set up exactly right. I think what I really appreciated was the calm handling of everything and the open and honest communication. He got everything done correctly and charged less than I had been quoted previously but the real charm was the methodical approach to everything. Really, I can't say enough good things about him and plan to use him for all of my future plumbing. 5 stars across the board.

Tech came in with no tools except a combustion tester which should have told me something. Was in my cellar for about 20 minutes and came up and said looks allright but sounds like you need a new coupler or pump by the sound of the burner and he said he would have to come back for that for another $150/$200. Went downstairs after he left and took both covers off the burner. Coat of dust on burner motor not disturbed, no fingerprints - he never inspected the inside. Never oiled anything since he didn't even take the cover off the motor. He didn't even change the air filter and it was filthy and I had new filters sitting right beside the burner so I did it myself. Didn't check the oil flow, nozzles -- no oily rags, What tuneup?? My brother was in the oil business so I'm not completely clueless about it. Dust on burner motor completely undisturbed which would be impossible if he had taken it apart to tune it up or even to look at it. All he did was check the flame, check the combustion and listen to it running. That by all accounts is not a tuneup.

I called around to several plumbers from Angie's list. He answered his own phone and came over during his lunch hour! His hourly rate is very competitive. He had to stop off at his plumbing supply house to get a replacement part and had everything else he needed in his truck. Took the time to do the job right (old pipes are not all standard sizes!).

It went perfectly well. Plumber arrived on time and completed the job very quickly. email and phone communications were easy. Would definitely use his services again.

Riggs Mechanical / Plumbing and Heating is a tremendous company. The work is professional, first-rate quality. The team are professional, courteous, and highly skilled. They worked efficiently and effectively to remove the radiators and baseboard heating elements. They installed new ducts, working precisely to match up the cuts from the basement to those in the floor for all the vents and the return. They were flexible and creative, working around a number of obstacles in my older house, to ensure that each room is properly ventilated. The new system is of the highest quality, and works great. I can't say enough about the team. They even cleaned up the basement with professionalism and dedication, as shown throughout the weeks of work in my place to do the installation. I couldn't be more pleased with the value and the quality of service. Thrown in, was work on my kitchen sink to remediate blockage issues which occurred when the water was turned off and on, and even install a new faucet, when the old one failed. I am fortunate to have found Riggs, and will be using them for my system maintenance, and for additional work in the future.
