Billy and his crew were fantastic. I was most impressed by how professional Billy was. He was responsive, punctual, honest, and thorough. He showed up when he said he would, did what he promised, and did it all in a very tight window, as we had a strict deadline. He is extremely responsive to phone calls, texts, and emails. We really didn't think we'd find someone that could get our project done in time, but Billy and his crew made it happen. The work he did was fantastic. Everything was soundly constructed, and when I asked him to make some adjustments midway through, they promptly happened. Overall, my boyfriend and I were so impressed and so relieved we have found someone we can trust to do thorough and punctual work! Would recommend Neary construction to anyone!

Bill never called or contacted me again. Obviously I was disappointed and will have to find another carpenter.

Billy and his friend did a great job. They are professional, punctual, honest and do a good finish carpentry. additional positives are- Billy picked the moulding from the store , that was really convenient and they also give suggestions, if you are not sure like us that you are picking right moulding. I wish our ceiling was little more flat, so that the joints in the crown were less visible, but they tried their best. Also a minor point but important that if you are doing something like us- putting crown and chair rail that will need painting, get it coordinated between the wood guy and the painter. I mean wood guy and the painter should talk and work together, rather independently.

Working from only a picture that I found on an online house site, Bill built a beautiful shelving unit around my fireplace. I was especially please that he found a way to build around a classic stained glass window that I thought would have to be covered over as part of the project. Bill clearly takes a lot of pride and care in his work. Not only am I very happy with the finished product, the whole experience was made much easier since Bill maintained very good communication (prompt responses to emails and phone calls) and was always there when he said he would be. Bill is a great guy, does beautiful work and is a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely work with Bill and Neary Construction again.

Very prompt and professional. It was a small job but I was glad that there were no surprises. I needed to get a handrail installed along my basement stairs. Within a day of my phone call, Bill Neary and set up a time to take a look at what needed to be done. He then gave a quote for the job and showed up at the agreed time with his helper. He finished the job quickly and the handrail looks solid.

Bill was absolutely wonderful to work with. We asked him to assist with two small projects (which we feared might be too small, but he assured us were not), and he gave us the service we would have hoped for had they been much larger. We had purchased a new hardwood "custom" vanity for the master bathroom. Because the house is quite old, the floor in the bathroom is uneven, and the vanity had to be both cut down and leveled to sit flush with the floor while still aligning on a horizontal plane with the wall tiles - no small task. As an initial matter, Bill was incredibly responsive - returning my initial call promptly, asking all the right questions, and providing an estimate based upon our discussion and his detailed questions. He was able to get us on his schedule immediately despite having a number of larger (and no doubt more lucrative) projects in the works. On the morning of the project, he called to say that he would be briefly delayed because he had received an emergency call from a school in Cambridge that needed assistance before the start of the school day (they have relied on him as a Good Samaritan in the past, and needed him again), and his desire to assist the school, while still getting to us in a timely manner earned him high marks from us as well. When he arrived, her worked quickly and effieciently and got the vanity into true custom shape in short order. The work area was spotless when he was finished. We are just thrilled with the new vanity thanks to Bill. For the second project, Bill was able to assist even before arriving. The house had custom cherry kitchen cabinetry installed by the former owner over 18 years ago. When we recently replaced the stove, a gap resulted in the woodwork. Bill was able to direct us to a woodshop that carried the matching wood even before he arrived. Bill was then able to quickly make a "kickplate" for the stove that filled in the gap, making it look as though it was always there. We could not have been happier with our experience working with Bill. We would highly recommend him, and plan to use him again very soon.

Bill was very responsive leading up to the work and had a quick turnaround with the initial quote. We touched base through both phone and email, to ensure there was a clear understanding of the scope. Bill and his crew were right on time the day of, and completed the job earlier than planned. The site was clean and the team was professional. I would certainly reach out to Neary Construction with future projects.

We never had to use a contractor till now. Thats why we used Angies to find one. All the contractors we asked quotes were from Angies. We had confidence on the quality based on reviews. We wanted the right price. Bill Neary's quote came on par and earliest when compared to the other quotes. We went with him for our work and never regretted it. He was very punctual, on time everyday and sent an email update at the end of each day. He always kept us up to date on whats going on and finished his work on schedule.

Everything went smoothly, on time, and matched the estimate. Communication was prompt and professional.

He showed up on time early in the morning to work around my schedule which made it easier for me. He was in and out within two hours.

The company was perfect to deal with, managed everything start to finish, and managed contact with tenants. I can’t say enough about them. He maintains a set of my keys in case of emergencies. I’ve used this company for small jobs of 1,000 to larger jobs like this.

They did a fantastic job - everything turned out well beyond what we had envisioned. In particular, the skirting looks beautiful and the siding they replaced is perfect. We were out of town when the work started, but they were great in that they gave many updates per day that included pictures, etc. They were always on time and easy to contact. The work site was cleaned up afterwards each day. Highly recommended!

The project went well, Bill was onetime and work performed to spec.I would use him again and have no problem referring him.

Billy was already in the driveway by the time we arrived at the house we wanted him to look at. He examined the rooms and made key observations, recommendations, and gave us new ideas we had not yet considered, He took the time to listen to our ideas and gave us good estimates on our project and if/when we were to go forward with this I am sure the Billy would be on the top of our list of contractors to use.

We recently purchased a new home and the stairs to the basement had no railings or handrail with a fully open side for my two year old to "explore" . Needless to say we need to fix that ASAP. We contacted a few carpenter/handymen, and bill came in much lower than the rest, but his explanation of the work he planned to do seemed to make perfect sense. He was very prompt with his response for a quote and came on a Saturday to get the work done. He was clean and prompt, and the railings came out great. Additionally, bill remembered that we needed a cat door put in. He was in the area a few weeks later and called to follow up and see if we still needed it. We did, so we left the door outside for the day, and bill came by, installed the cat door, and we went about our usual Saturday routine. He was quick, clean, and very nice. We would happily call him again for work in the future.

Bill is a very nice guy yet very professional. I called him and he was able to swing by within an hour to look over possible work that needed to be done. Turns out he doesn't provide work and estimates for it 'just because' but rather was very honest in saying that work may not be required. It's very hard finding honest people like Bill nowadays. Now I know that when we DO have work we need completed, I will call Bill first. A+ individual.

Great contractor! Reasonable price, great work and great attitude. Everyone he recommended did a wonderful job. Bill Neary took the time to listen to us and answer all our questions -- and I had a LOT of questions! Will recommend Bill and everyone he used to all family and friends. Will definitely use all of them for future jobs.

Bill was very efficient and completed the job quickly and with great attention to detail. I am very happy with my new deck!

He came and give me price for a bunch of things and I did spend more than two hours with them, they did a variety of different things and it was good. He was really easy to talk to, very straight forward, he always came when he said, very prompt, and he is just good to do any deal of the job. I guess I spent a few hundred dollars for the extra work that they did aside from the 69$ big deal.

Bill returned my call the first day. He came out to give us a quote and had the door installed soon after. Looking forward to working with him in the future.

Bill is great to work with. The bannister looks great and his team was efficient with their work. We received multiple quotes for the work and he was easily the most reasonable. I had to contact him a couple of times to get the work set up, but it was well worth it. Great job.

Bill was fantastic, he built us out custom shelving and cabinet space for our bedroom and living room. He worked with us on specifications and gave some great guidance on design. He was great to work with, on time, and super efficient. We love the work he did and get compliments all the time on our built-ins.
