Nice guy, great job. Solid. I have a small house and not too many trees around, so it was nice and quick.

Overall and excellent job. Cleaned gutters and removed no longer needed roof heating cables. Took all leaf trash and old heater cables away which was an extra bonus. Also replaced leaking elbow on one downspout. I also like the fact that they ensured the downspouts were clear. One small thing they didn't do which i would bring to their attention next time was to reset the plastic plates under the downspouts which they had moved for cleaning. Very satisfied and would use them again.

This experience was great because it was easy and effective. I left a message for Joe and he called me back quickly to provide an estimate and schedule a cleaning. Because I called in late October and the leaves weren't quite done falling yet, he went ahead and scheduled me for a date in mid-November (that was nicer than making me call back). He let me know they would come sometime on the scheduled day and that we didn't need to be home. As promised he showed up, cleaned the gutters quickly and did a great job, and even took a look at a piece of our gutter flagged in our home inspection (and fixed it at no cost!!). It turns out we were home and got to meet Joe who was very friendly. This was a very good experience and will definitely be the person I call for gutter cleanings in the future!

Water started pouring into my kitchen on the afternoon of Friday, December 20th. I called half a dozen roofers from Angie's List in a panic. Joe Hennelly answered my call (the others have yet to even call me back) and told me that he couldn't make it himself until the next morning to look at the roof but he would send his son to get some snow and ice off the roof right away. Two young men arrived to clean off the roof and not long after Joe himself arrived. He had been Christmas shopping with his daughter and came to look at my roof. His daughter waited in my house while he patched three holes on the roof above my leak. He then called back several hours after leaving to make sure the leaking had stopped, which it had. The following day leaks sprang from a new location and again he and two men arrived to help, this time checking the entire roof, which was now clear. He found over 33 holes total in our rubber roof-- quite a mess. He patched them and even though we had serious rain in the following days, we haven't had any water coming in. I can't recommend Hennelly and Son highly enough. Joe and his team went above and beyond. They were responsive, professional, and very nice during a stressful situation. I can't believe that Joe came to help me in the middle of Christmas shopping with his daughter. We will definitely use Hennelly and Son in the future.

Joe was scheduled to clean my gutters on 12/16, but due to freeze he called and re-scheduledfor Sunday 12/22 Joe called me Sunday morning to confirm & his workers arrived as scheduled, did thorough job . This was the second time I used Hennely & Sons and I will use them again next year. Very happy with this provider.

After making an appointment for 11/29/13 Joe was unable to clean the gutters because of freezing. He called same day and set up another appointment for 12/6/13 even though he was backed up due to the cold weather. The job was excellent. They even went the extra mile & cleaned up leaves in my driveway I didn't get to yet. Thanks you for squeezing me in and a great job!

I called and left a message for Joe and he called back within a reasonable time either same day or next day. We scheduled a time for him to come and give an estimate and do the work. The day before the scheduled work he called to say that with the subfreezing temps we'd been having it would not be possible to do the work that day - the gutters would be frozen and sealant for the flashing wouldn't stick so we rescheduled for the following week. Actually he came during the week when I was at work, called me with an estimate and then we agreed to the price and set a weekend day and time for him to come and do the work. I really appreciated his calling in advance to communicate about this rescheduling - I've dealt with other contractors in the past who just don't show up without any explanation. I give Joe high marks for responsiveness and communication - after talking with him I can say that he understands that homeowners really want to deal with responsive and reliable contractors who communicate changes and who show up when they say they will. On the re-scheduled day Joe showed up on time with help. It took about 90 minutes or so to complete the job and Joe was efficient about it. He cleaned up all the junk from the gutters - and even raked up the last little bit of leaves that were left on my lawn. Given the steep pitch on my roof, the price he charged for gutter cleaning plus climbing up to repair my chimney flashing seemed very reasonable to me. All in all, a very positive experience with this contractor, and I would definitely call him again.

My fear was that these spots were coming from some leak in the roof. Joe was able to come in and correctly diagnose the problem as splattered food. Embarrassing for me, but great work on his part to not waste time and tell it like it is. I would definitely call him again for any other real or perceived roofing issues.

Work was performed promptly and expertly after several weather delays. We will use Hennelly and Son again for some additional repairs.

I chose to use this company based on all the positive reviews on Angies List. Contacted Joe Hennelly the week of November 4 and indicated to him that we needed several gutters repaired as well as a through gutter cleaning. It was a little tricky to get ahold of him but we finally scheduled the appointment for November 21. On November 21 his son and team showed up as promised and were on time, however they were unprepared to make the repairs. I walked the exterior of the house with his son and he took photos and made notes of the repairs that needed to be made. It was determined that they would clean the gutters when they came back to do the repairs. They were very nice and professional. Unfortunately they never contacted me back. I called Joe back the week of November 25 and he indicated that there had been a misunderstanding on the work that needed to be done and that they had been very busy but he would get someone out to the house the week of December 2? he never called me back to confirm. I called him again the week of December 2 and he assured me that he would be at the house on December 7 to look at the repairs. Joe called me on Friday the 6th and rescheduled the appointment to Sunday, December 8 because he would be in the area. On Sunday, December 8 he met with my husband, quoted him a price for the work, and scheduled that they would arrive to make the repairs on Thursday December 12. On the morning of December 12 Joe called to cancel sighting the weather. I called him back to try and reschedule for the following week and he let me know that he was unable to do the work and that I should just move on -- which I was ready to do the week of November 25 but Joe convinced me to give him a chance since I had found him on Angies list and he didn't want a bad review. In the call on December 13 Joe indicated that it was just to cold to do the gutters. I told him that he had put me in quite a bind and if he had just said a month prior that they were too busy I could have found another provider to get the work finished. The conversation got heated and Joe got patronizing and belligerent. He ended the call by telling me to "shove the work up my a**." And then hung up on me. I wish he just would have said he was too busy to do the work - he seems like a nice man. I also understand that misunderstandings happen and mistakes happen but to drag this out for a month when I could have just moved on is unprofessional. I would not recommend this company.

If we could give an A+ rating we would. Joe and his crew were very professional, quick to respond and thorough. We will definitely be using his services again.

I called and left a message in the morning, and Joe called me back that afternoon. Since he happened to be in my neighborhood, he stopped by and did the work on the spot! Polite, professional, and so fast - of course, that was simply good luck. Looking forward to calling them back next year, when it's dry, so they can sand & oil my wooden gutters. Thanks, Joe!!

Hennelly & Sons exemplify a level of professionalism, quality and honesty that is hard to find in contractors. I would give them a higher grade than 'A', if that were possible on Angie's List. This is our first fall in a new house and we could not tell how clean our gutters were, so we hired Joe to clean them. It was easy to make an appointment with Joe, he came exactly as scheduled and we did not need to be home for the appointment. Once he inspected our house, Joe determined that the gutters did not need to be cleaned and quickly called to let me know. I tried to insist that I compensate him at least for his trouble, but Joe refused. He also inspected the state of our gutters and roof, gave them a good review, and provided some helpful tips on when we might want to think about maintenance in the future. This is a superior level of professionalism, quality and honesty. I will definitely look to hire Hennelly & Sons for future roofing and gutter jobs.

Joe is not only a really nice guy, but he really knows what he's doing. He spent some time going over the roof in order to "nail down" the source of the leak that was coming in the garage. He was knowledgeable and sp professional. On top of that he was immediately responsive and repaired the area on the spot. I woulld call him again in a nanosecond. Just the best.

I hired him in the spring for some gutter cleaning. I left a message and he called back. One of my gutters was clogged. He was able to clear it up and clean out the rest of the gutters. Overall, he did an excellent job. So I wanted to hire him again. Several months later, I called and left a voicemail because of a leak in one of the gutters. He never called back. I patched it myself. Then in the fall, I called him again and happened to catch him on the phone. We scheduled a gutter cleaning, but he never showed up because of rain. After posting this review, he did call me which I appreciate and offered to clean my home's gutters for free, which I think reflects on his good standards. I told him I'd call him back based on whether someone else I hired while do the job or not.

Excellent job. Joe was responsive to my call, came on the scheduled day and did a great job.

The gutters on two sides of my front porch were bent and didn't drain properly. The improper draining also contributed to ice dams in the winter. Also, a slash in the length of gutter running along the front of the porch was allowing water to drip through onto the front steps. I contacted Hennelly & Son to give me a quote to replace the gutters and one downspout. They came out promptly on a Saturday morning and provided me with a written quote before they left that same morning. They delivered the materials a couple of days later, and returned the following Saturday to install the gutters and downspouts. The work took a couple of hours. They removed the damaged gutters and downspouts, and installed the new materials. They did the work without damaging any of the landscaping, and they cleaned up well when they were done. Since installation, the gutters have been working perfectly. I'm very pleased with the entire experience.

I called them because I was so happy with the job they did last year. They cleaned the gutters and did a number of downspout repairs without my asking them. They arrived on time and called 10 minutes before arrival to let us know they were on the way. They did a thorough job on our large Victorian house and did a downspout repair I asked them to do at no extra cost. They worked for about two hours and cleaned up afterwards. Money well spent.

It went very well. Some of the gutters were so clogged from leaves and debris that the rain water was not able to drain down the pipe, but Joe took care of that.

Very satisfied with the project. They did the work quickly and were very honest about the fact that there are not many trees blowing leaves into my gutters, and therefore very regular cleanings are not necessary.

Compared to national company we have used in the past, much happier with this local service because with Joe Hennelly was able to talk to owner directly, calls were returned promptly, and liked being able to arrange specific day/time of service (vs vague timing with national company).

Called Joe and he picked up the phone (which is awesome considering all the voicemails I end up leaving for people). He said that he would call me back in the morning to schedule something -- and the next morning he called to say that he would be able to drop by in about an hour to clean out the gutters. His team was friendly and professional.
