I contacted Home Facelifters to remove a small concrete barrier from my garage, to repair the porch at the end of my house that was developing cracks and holes around the foundation, and to perform a couple of handyman tasks (replace a doorknob and replace smoke detectors). Joe replied to my inquiry and came out to give me an estimate within a couple of days of when I contacted him. When he and his crew started working on the porch repair they found that the problems were much more extensive than originally anticipated. The porch was actually pulling away from the house, and as the crew started to work on the porch they found a couple of large cracks running the length of the foundation under the floor of the porch, making it unsafe. It was clear to all of us that the porch would have to be replaced. Joe quickly came up with some estimates and found a solution to retain the roof over one end of the porch. He proposed replacing the porch with a new deck. The crew supported the roof on the side of the porch and removed the underlying porch and the concrete slabs. They dug holes for new piers and footing and poured concrete. It was also discovered there was some old (not active) termite damage on the lower side of the house where the new deck would be attached (this was damage that was treated when I bought the house 16 years ago so it was no longer active but the bottom portion of part of that side of the house had to be repaired and reshingled). During the entire process Joe was great about communicating the latest set-back and keeping me up to date on additional expenses. In the end the crew built a beautiful new deck with railings up to code. The job was much more complicated than what I originally anticipated and ended up being more expensive but was necessary. I may have been able to get the work done elsewhere for slightly less money but I do not know that I would have received the same quality craftsmanship. Joe and his assistant were great to work with throughout the process. They communicated clearly about when they were going to show up and about the progress of the work. They worked long days, often after dark, in freezing cold weather but finished most of the work as quickly as possible. There are still a couple of things left to be done (painting and building stairs to the deck) but those things have to wait until warmer weather. This is the second time I have used Home Facelifters for a major project at my home, and I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: 1. replacement of porch with a deck because old porch was pulling away from foundation of house. 2. removal of concrete barrier from garage 3. handyman work (replacing smoke detectors and a doorknob)

This company has provided excellent snow removal services. I do not have the easiest driveway to plow because of the surrounding landscape and a retaining wall. There is also a drain that has to be kept clear. Home Facelifters thoroughly cleared the snow early in the morning and also did an excellent job keeping the drain clear.
Description of Work: Plowing driveway.

Everything went great, there were a couple changes that had to be made as the job progressed, we found out the old toilet had been leaking pretty badly, and there was a bunch of rotting floor boards. Other than that they completed the job within our time frame, cleaned the house up at the end of each day very well, and really treated our home like it was theirs. Everything was sealed up with plastic barriers so we wouldn't get dust throughout the house, I was very pleased about that. We plan to have them back in the next year or two for the kitchen.
Description of Work: We had our main bathroom stripped down to the studs, its was very outdated, the floors were starting to crack, and it needed a new shower, vanity, and toilet. All new electrical for the bathroom was put in, new plumbing pipes, all new green sheetrock to prevent mold, a custom walk in shower was built, which is no lip at all the bathroom floor becomes the shower floor, with all the same tile, it was such a cool idea we had to do it! We also made the shower a double shower, so 2 people can use it at once with different temperatures and their own shower heads. We decided to splurge a little bit and had floor heating put in, and it actually continues all the way through the shower I didn't even know this was possible.

I couldn't be happier with Joe and his crew. From first contact and the time we met to get an estimate I could tell right off the bat he knew exactly what he was talking about, and was very professional about everything. I met with 2 other contractors, and even though Home Facelifters wasn't the cheapest, I knew that they would get the job done right and on time. They dealt with all of the city inspectors and dealt with pulling all the permits, they helped me pick out many of the different items for the house like the cabinets, counters, appliances, flooring, and even colors for the walls. There were some things that I thought I wanted a certain way but Joe was always willing to try and explain why another way might be better, which I do appreciate. The payment process was very simple, we did go over our original estimate, but he had told me upfront there was a chance we would find things behind the walls that we couldn't predict, and I was prepared to possibly go over by a certain amount so that wasn't a problem. The work was done very quickly, and the quality of everything is great. I will definitely be using Joe and his crew on future projects of mine.
Description of Work: Joe literally remodeled the entire house, we gutted it down to the studs, leaving nothing behind but the framing. First we opened the place up with large windows all around and a big slider off the back of the house facing the pond. Then they ran brand new plumbing for the entire house, all new electrical and a new electric service, they dormer-ed the upstairs for me to make the rooms much bigger, framed a new roof on half the house, installed brand new roofing and flat roofing above the dormer, they installed fiberglass insulation throughout the whole house, and then hung all the drywall as well. They brought in only 1 sub the whole time and that was to tape the drywall, the entire house was taped in 3 days! As soon as everything was taped Joe and his crew had the house primed and painted in another 3 days. After that they started on the kitchen with all new cabinets, brought in all the stainless appliances and coordinated the granite counter top install for me, while the kitchen was being done 1 guy had the bathroom all tiled and started on the finish work. Then all the hand scraped bamboo floors started going in and the carpet going in upstairs. I also had them build me a beautiful pressure treated deck off the back of the house overlooking the pond. Once this was done they vinyl siding all went up and the exterior was done. A couple days later all the finish trim was done and painted and I am pretty sure I already have a buyer!

I was very happy with all aspects of the work performed and would hire this company again. My call was returned within a day or two of when I left a message. Joe came out to look at the job the following week and gave me an estimate a few days later. The work was performed within a couple of weeks of when I received the estimate. The workers spent an entire day completing the project and communicated with me throughout the day on their progress and made recommendations to me as they further evaluated the work that needed to be done.
Description of Work: My house had two side windows with some rot on the exterior window trim. Also, the fascia boards on the back of the house were not well constructed and as a result had some leakage and rot. The workers removed the gutter and the rotted fascia boards from the back of the house and replaced them with new fascia boards, caulked and painted to match the existing trim. A new seamless gutter and downspouts were also installed. The side windows with rotted trim were wrapped in aluminum. Additionally, they removed a wrap over the bay window in the back of the house, where the fascia boards had rotted, and installed a drip cap and rewrapped it over the top to protect the area against water.

This was a hard decision on how to leave this review. Basically, the first appointment for the project overview estimates was 3/27/14. I called this company because they appear (by their name anyways) to be able to do a range of items. i had 9 different projects that needed estimates. The first appointment seemed to have gone well and the person i met with appeared to be organized and interested in my projects. I then sent them an email summarizing the individual projects just so we were on the same page. On April 1st, i sent a follow up email with a few revisions (I haven't received any quotes yet anyways). Still did not receive a reply on any part of my requested quotes, or an acknowledgment email. April 3rd, I sent another email asking about any updates on part or all of the quotes. I also commented on a couple details about a couple projects. Still I did not receive a reply or an acknowledgment of the information received. April 5th, since I haven't received any quotes yet, I sent another email with a few more revisions and I added a few more projects that I needed to do as well. My current list was 14 projects. I also called and left a message wondering if they received my emails at all. Finally on April 6th I received an email back. It said they were very busy; my quotes are complicated; and that they would work on them that evening. (Note: if I could have received some quotes at a time that would have been great, but I didn't.) I replied in the email that same day and just said Thank you. I did not receive any quotes that night or the next few days after that. April 10th, I emailed them asking them if they could provide most of the quotes or all of them by the next day, 4/11. April 11th, I received a reply from them saying they are extensive quotes and which ones are most important right now. I replied that some of the quotes would have been acceptable earlier than others (but I haven't receive ANY quotes yet). I gave them an updated summary list again to help them streamline the process and marked which ones I would like the quotes (6 of them) on right away. I mentioned I that I would those quotes by the end of the weekend, 4/13. April 13th, late that evening I received an email back saying that their dad was very sick and have more work that they can handle now. They were apologetic. I replied that I understood and hoped the dad would get better soon. However, the facts remain that this is a business and I was a customer that should have received the necessary information in a timely manner. To me, less than a week is a timely response for quotes requested. The company name appears that they are very hands on and can tackle a variety of projects, which surprised me with this outcome and the lack of quotes. I took a lot of time to provide them details for the projects. Ultimately, any company should provide a timeline of when quotes will be given and keep within that timeline - or tell the customer right away that they don't have the capacity to do the projects for them. I realize they may have a family situation now. Anyways, I hope their dad is definitely doing better. (Note: there was an option to show my address in this review page on Angie's List but could not tell if that would be posted, so I just selected "I went to provider's location". Not sure if this will show or not. I didn't go to their location.) >>>> UPDATE AFTER READING RESPONSE FROM HOME FACELIFTERS below ON 5-21-14: I am shocked by your response. You knew the projects you needed to be done from the first appointment. At the time, I said to you that I would send you a summary list of what we had discussed. You are exaggerating in my projects descriptions. I can show anyone what my emails looked like. You were just not honest enough or admit to me that you could not handle all those projects up front. In fact, they were just quotes at the time. If you were experienced enough you could have put together the quotes as requested. I didn't tell you to begin work on them, just quotes (as many people often request from contractors). Some contractors are more organized than others. I understand that your family had medical issues but read the timeline of what I wrote earlier. A lot of time went by even before that information was given to me. And now you are making it sound like it was my fault by your reply. Don't lose sight here that I am a busy person also. I made an appointment for quotes only. I expect the quotes to be provided to me no more than a week. If you, at the time of the appointment, was taking down the information we went over with my projects in person, than you were agreeing to continue with the quotes. You didn't tell me otherwise. When I said I would said you a summary email of what we went over in the appointment, it was just that a "summary" email of what we had discussed. If you had questions or concerns about it, a quick reply would have been appropriate. I am now judging how contractors do at the quotes stage. Because if there are issues like communication and follow-through at this stage, then that is a red flag to me for the actual project if it were to take place with that contractor. My emails were right to the point but it was probably beyond your workmanship abilities. You should have told me right away instead of wasting my time as well. And what do you mean where you wrote: "...hopefully you reconsider on this" Reconsider what?? Hiring you? I don't think so. You seem all talk and then you are disrespectful to a customer. I think if I were a guy your reply would have been different. You appear to be the overly manly type. Some contractors definitely treat women differently if they have questions or inquires about their projects. If anyone wants to hire these guys, you are encouraging them to act rude to customers whenever they feel like it!
Description of Work: No work was done. No quotes provided as requested.

Response from Home Facelifters
I came out to do an estimate for you and took down lots of notes you were VERY specific about how you wanted things, a couple days later you send me a 3 page report on how you wanted things priced, this definitely was not a typical job to quote, you wanted very specific materials and I made a lot of calls to get pricing for you. When you gave me a deadline I knew I was way to busy to be able to complete the quote on time or do the work within your deadline so I very politely told you that I was very sorry but would not be able to complete it for you. My father is having serious health issues and that was my top priority at the time this was going on. I am very sorry that you feel I deserved such a low grade because of that. I could see if I ignored you or did not get back to you but I thought that I was very polite, and just because I couldn't meet your strict deadline I do not think that I deserve this grade. Best of luck with your project and hopefully you reconsider on this. Thanks, Joe Stefanelli

Joe arrived on time and gave us the estimate to repair all damages. He also reminded us that our Homeowners insurance might help with the costs. The work began as promised, and was done perfectly, and on time and budget. The workmen were neat, courteous, and did everything they could to keep disruptions to a minimum. They cleaned and put away their tools and paint items each night. We were delighted with the results--and we plan to have them back later this spring for some "freshening up" in the guest bedroom.
Description of Work: We had ice dam damage to two cathedral ceilings and walls in two rooms--cracks from snow load, and water dripping from bathroom fan and family room light. They patched and repaired all cracks, covered water stains and repainted ceilings and walls (entire family room), Removed and replaced bathroom fan and put in more insulation around the vents, repaired cracks that extended into kitchen wall and matched the paint.

We didn?t use them for painting they put in a patio backyard and install a steel basement door. It was good. The overall experience was good. They do all kinds of handyman work. They were hard workers and they did a good job. It?s a hard work the patio in the back required a lot digging and it looks good. The door opens and closes smoothly, nice and it fit and patio is good. It took them a while to get on the job but they were very busy and we are in a hurry but it took them a couple of weeks beyond but they thought they could through it but evidently there are in high demand. The price is good. The quality of work was good and those guys on the job backyard are very good, very professional.

Overall it went really well. Joe was very quick to respond to my plea for a quick install of a closet and interior work to accommodate my mother who had to move in with us in a hurry. We got lucky that he was able to start quickly and was done almost on time. We had the header as an add on project so this is what caused the extension of time. In the end, we were very pleased with the results. We even had concerns about the roof after the install and a heavy rain came. He sent one of his crew out on New Year's Day to make sure the quality of workmanship was good.
Description of Work: Create new walk in closet where none existed, wire closet for lights, hang closet wire shelving, paint closet, two rooms and stairwell, extend pantry wall, misc electrical for three rooms including removal of a 220 line, repair of stairwell treads and bury electrical that was improperly installed, then repair sheet rock, new header to support porch roof, re-shingle porch roof, and junk removal.

The initial contacts with this organization was very successful. Phil had great ideas and was very willing to work with us on keeping the price down. He understood what we needed and worked very closely with us to achieve our goal with a price that was doable for us. The crew of workers were excellent. They were extremely professional and the quality of their work was excellent. The renovated space came out beautiful with all the things we asked for. The workers cleaned up after themselves and did a very professional job. I am a private person and the workers were very respectful of my personal space and I really appreciated that. I would rehire them for any renovations that I needed. They are very skilled and they do all different types of renovations and repairs and carpentry. I really appreciated that they could do a variety of work so I didn't need to hire different companies for different jobs. Joe and his Dad, Phil, work with an excellent crew (George and Julio). We were very pleased with all of the work they did.

I received a good estimate. The order for the door (a specialty size) took a little longer than we expected, but the contractor could not help that. We would have appreciated a little more contact from the contractor regarding dates of service, etc., but when he did call to say he was coming to do the job, he showed up with his team on time, ready to go. They did the whole job starting at 8:30am and finishing around 3pm. We are very happy with the work. The door looks great, the screen door works great, and the extended patio looks so much better than the mud we had near the door before. So overall we are very happy, and give him an overall grade of A.
Description of Work: They replaced an old backdoor with a nice steel, hung door, and fixed the old the screen door and mounted it on the new door. They also extended our patio by 4.5 feet with new pavers.

We needed three handyman projects completed at our townhouse. I first requested services on the form on Home Facelifters Web site. After getting no response for several days, I called and left a message. Eventually I was able to reach someone (Joe?). He said his crews were busy for three weeks, but if I could wait, he would be able to do the jobs. Because Home Facelifters review on Angies List were good, I said I could wait. As the end of the three week period approached and not having heard back, I called to see if the jobs could be scheduled. This time Joe said he was considering offering a Groupon in the next couple of days in which a person could buy a block of handyman hours (e.g., 4, 6, 8). He said that this would save me money and it would save him having to come out to our townhouse to provide an estimate. He said he would call me one way or the other in a couple of days about the Groupon. He did not call, nor did any Groupon appear. I called them back and left messages, none of which were returned, saying we were still interested in having the jobs done. I finally gave up. My biggest "pet-peeve" with service providers involves them not returning phone calls (or requests on Web sites or emails). It is the absolutely minimum in terms of customer service. Home Facelifters failed in this regard.
Description of Work: Was unresponsive to requests for handyman services.

[member name removed], I don't think this is a fair review in any way. I always got back to you right away every time you called. When we first talked I was booked for about 3 weeks.... Now it's 3 months. Since I mentioned the groupon I have not received one phone call back from you about it. I did not put one up because we couldn't reach an agreement with groupon. I am just so booked right now I don't have time for some of the smaller jobs that I used to. I mean you see how fast I even responded to this if you called me I would have called you back. I will be in touch with you later today and maybe we can discuss this because I was very fair and honest with you and I'm sorry you feel I deserve to be rated a D because I DIdnt do a groupon like I mentioned I might do. Thanks, Joe

I was in touch with Phil (owner) of Home Facelifters the very end of April. We made and appointment for a free estimate, within two business days he was at my home. I wanted my living room, hall and kitchen walls painted. Along with the ceiling which has a large skylight, doors leading into 3 other rooms and all the trim. Phil's estimate was very reasonable especially considering the height of my ceiling and the troublesome skylight that had to be dealt with. He was extremely helpful with picking the colors. I was deciding between two shades of green for the walls, by the time he left I had picked One. It would not have occured to me to change the color of the trim and doors but he suggested that I do and I LOVE it. His workers Nate and Tom show up right on time. Both were very hard workers and considerate of covering my carpeting, flooring, cabinets and exposed furniture. They finished the job on May 8th at noon. All of my furniture was put back where it belonged and they even helped me to hang a large wall mirror and shelving. I couldn't believe what a beautiful painting job they did. It looked better than it did when I bought my condo Brand New 13 years ago. Hire again................"in a heartbeat".

Feb. snow and rainstorms caused a large ice dam to form on our North side roof, and we had water damage in both the master bathroom and the family room. Both ceilings had water stains--and both were cathedral ceilngs--high and difficult to reach. We also had some cracked plaster in the corner of the family room from settling, as well as one corner in the kitchen. The very top of the ceiling in the master bath had some loosening of the drywall tape and "mud", and since we were at it, I asked them to include this, as well as a cleaning and replacement of light bulbs in the kitchen fan--again, too high for us to get to. Inspection of the bathroom water stain proved to be not from the ice dam, but a problem with the installation of the bathroom fan and light by the original owners--use of too small a unit and no insulation, causing lots of condensation which leaked down and stained the ceiling. Both rooms would need repainting of the ceilings and the family room needed a total repaint. Touch-up of the bathroom wall where some nails had popped and needed recovering would be enough. They matched our 9 year old paint perfectly. The men arrived punctually each of the three days it required. They moved and/or covered furnishings and carpeting both in the rooms and in the hallways to protect them and were very careful to keep dust and dirt to a minimum, and cleaned everything up each night so we could resume normal living. They did a great job with everything, and installed a new fan unit of the correct size in the bathroom--cleaned up my kitchen ceiling, and made the fan/light unit look like new. The men were courteous and good at their jobs and did everything we had asked. Our house looks great again, and we are very satisfied with the company, their estimator Phil; Joe, their supervisor, and his crew. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

I called Joe from Home Facelifters midway through the winter. Though I usually use a snow-thrower on my stone driveway, my doc wanted me to take some time off from it. We had negative experiences with plowing previously; removing the snow while leaving the stones takes some skill. Joe agreed to plow for us, described how he would preserve the stones, and gave a fair price. Following the first storm, I was very happy to see that he did exactly as promised.
Description of Work: Great job plowing a challenging driveway.

I met Phil & Joe Stefanelli of Home Facelifters after I contacted them to help with my flooded basement. Shortly after moving in to our house, we had our finished basement flood from a large amount of rain and a poorly graded back yard. From the beginning they were professional, timely, and genuinely cared about us and our situation. They fit us into their busy schedule and started working on our project that week. They removed the water and gutted the basement right away and began rebuilding from scratch. The project went so smoothly that we kept them in mind for future projects. We decided to hire them to remodel our kitchen and our upstairs bathroom which came out flawless. Joe was great about adapting to our changing demands and never once complained when we altered from the original plan. The crew they employ is top notch as well. Each carpenter is professional and took care to make sure they limited the impact on our daily lives when working in our house. Although, they are a medium sized home improvement company, I always felt like I was their top priority. Not only is their craftsmanship great, but they are helpful with design of projects and suggesting materials to use. They were helpful in every facet of the projects they completed for us. I would highly recommend Home Facelifters, Phil & Joe, and their entire team! Thank you Home Facelifters for the amazing work on all of our projects! Ben Conway
Description of Work: Basement Remodel HF drained basement from flooding and gutted entire finished area. Re studded walls and ran all new electrical back to the box. They sheet rocked the walls, built out a new closet, removed and then installed new basement stairs. Hung a beautiful drop ceiling with nice recessed lights. They installed a tile floor after leveling our uneven basement slab, trimmed out the entire place and painted everything. The basement is now my man cave and it looks amazing thanks to them. Kitchen Remodel Gutted entire kitchen and removed a wall between our kitchen and dining room to open things up. Installed cherry cabinets and granite countertop. Sheetrocked and closed in the gap between the rooms with a beautiful decorative beam. Built a special entertainment center area in our kitchen for our tv and other media. They helped with design of the kitchen as well. Installed our new appliances and painted everything. The special touch was the beautiful backsplash and the light fixtures they suggested. Joe also installed crown molding in the kitchen and it came out great. Couldn't have asked for a better job. Breezeway Remodel Gutted our 3 season room breezeway/entranceway and installed five new windows and 4 new doors. They installed electric heat that now allowed us to use this room all year. It may be one of the warmest rooms in our house. They put in a tile floor, trimmed out the room, painted, and put in a beautiful ceiling fan. The room had regular ceiling height before they began, but they were able to loft the ceiling to give the room an appearance of being much larger. Bathroom Remodel Gutted our only full bathroom and moved a supporting wall 4 feet to expand the size of the bathroom considerably. We were without a shower during construction and they worked round the clock to make sure the project went as quick as possible. My wife is very thankful for that! They re insulated and ran new electrical to the entire bathroom. Joe installed a whirlpool tub with a heater and a beautiful travertine tile surround. They then installed a digital shower system with overhear rain shower, standard shower head, body jets and the regal bath tup faucet. The system works flawlessly and is better then we could have expected. They installed a pedestal sink and a custom vanity closet as well as a built in closet for our towels and toiletries. They even installed a pocket door for us so the door would not take up valuable space when in the bathroom. This was my favorite project they completed for us. Fence Work We have 400' of stockade fence in our backyard and when we bought the house we new it needed to be replaced soon. When we adopted our puppy, we knew it was the time. We called Home Faclifters and they were able to take down the old fence and install a new one within a week. Not an easy feet with 50 fence panels and polls. Theye even installed an extra large gate so we could fit our lawn mower through. Roofing Home Facelifters also replaced our leaky roof. After a big storm we had water damage on our second floor ceiling from a leak in the old roof. They quickly went to work stripping the old roof, replacing any broken clapboards and laying a new roof with ice and water barrier and fixing old/damaged pieces of the gutter. Joe had the foresight to divert the gutters away from our problem area in our backyard that was causing the leak in the basement. The roof came out great and took no more than a week. Joe even patched our chimney he noticed was cracked when doing the roofing. Ceilings Once they fixed the leaky roof, they went to work fixing our ceiling on our second floor. Joe dried out our attic and fixed any of the damaged sheetrock. Once everything was fixed he applied a knock down texture to all of the ceiling on the second floor to hide any differences that might be visible. The ceiling were flat before, and we had asked about spraying popcorn on the ceiling. He steered us to the knockdown texture which adds a richness to the rooms and is beautiful. We get a ton of compliments about this. The ceiling looked so good that we had him come back to do the entire first floor!

I moved into my condo and needed all new rugs installed, new cabinets installed in 2 bathrooms, and all rooms painted. they arrived early in the am and didnt stop until the work was completed. Every job was done to perfection. My daughters first home needed a complete remodeling of the kitchen, which they did, cabinets, countertops, again to perfection in a timely manner and reasoably priced.
Description of Work: I have had several different jobs done by Home Facelifters. new cabinets installed in bathrooms, entire condo painted, brand new kitchen installed, including cabinets, countertops, appliances. I have also recommended them to several friends and they have been extremely happy with the quality of work done. I am completely happy with their professionalism, quality of work, and prices. I will continue to have them do any work that I need done.

Home FaceLifters was very quick to respond. We had waited so long for another contractor to get back to us that we decided to go ahead and call someone else. They were here the next day to take a look at the basement. They got back to us fairly quickly with a quote and began working within the first couple of days. The crew was here most days at 8 am. They were very courteous and did a great job. Joe was always available to answer any questions we had, either via phone, email, or in person. They worked pretty quickly and once all the inspections were done, they were able to complete the job. We needed a few light fixtures changed upstairs in the main part of the house and Joe and his crew offered to do it for us while they were here! We got the towel rods, toilet paper holder, etc....and they installed those for us in the new bathroom. Originally, they were not going to use a programmable thermostat, but I asked if they could put one in (I even offered to pay the extra), and they installed one free of charge. They built a big egress window to code with a block well and steps to get out, in case of emergency. It brings in so much more light too! The basement looks great. The painted black ceiling is spectacular....especially with all those lights. They also enclosed the electrical panel and water main, so we don't have to see them. They built a small closet around the sump pump as well. They built a drain to go from the egress window well directly into the pump and made a small hole in the wall (I asked them to) of the sump pump closet that just fits the hose from my dehumidifier, so it too can drain into the sump pump. We also asked if they could insulated the ceiling of the bathroom, as it's just below our bedroom, and they did that as well. They sealed everything up around the pipe openings and vented the new plumbing through our bedroom closet, out the attic and roof. There was only one small fee above the original quote, and that was due to the fact that the electrician had to add another electrical box. We're very happy with everything!
Description of Work: We had a completely unfinished basement when we moved in. Joe and his crew added a full bathroom and finished the rest of the basement, except the small utility area (boiler, W/D) with painted walls, all new windows, built an egress window, and added a railing for the stairs. They added several lights and they put a ceiling and tile floor in the bathroom. The rest of the basement ceiling was left as is, except they painted it black and covered the piping. They painted the basement floor as well. In the utility area, they replaced the old window and added shelving for storage. They added plumbing for the bathroom which involved cutting through the concrete floor and placing a large pump in the utility area (so it's out of sight in the bathroom). They put a toilet, vanity, large shower, lighting, a fan, a medicine cabinet, and shelving in the new bathroom. There are plenty of outlets and lights throughout. They also added a heating zone to our current propane boiler. So there is a small baseboard in the bathroom and a larger one in the general basement area, as well as a programmable thermostat.

Bought a Groupon and the responses must have overwhelmed them. Took months to actually get them to come do the work. Work done was very good and the employees were polite and hardworking. A little more thought to neatness and mess could be improved. Overall a very good experience and would hire them again.

Joe and crew were great to work with, they did my bathroom for me a couple months ago and I was just as pleased this time as last. They show up when they say they will, they treat my house like its their own, cleaning up after themselves and taking care to put tarps down and cover things good. The price was very fair and I would recommend them to anyone!

I hired Home Facelifters to remodel my bathroom, do some interior and exterior painting, and some other odd jobs around the house. From the start I was very happy with Joe and how he spent the time to explain the process and how everything would work. He was very knowledgable and went above and beyond to make me happy. The price was a little higher than another estimate I got but it was definitely worth it, his crew was very polite, clean, and worked hard. I would reccomend Home Facelifters and would gladly hire them again.
