CCI did an outstanding job transforming our 1960's colonial into an inviting home that will take us well into the future. CCI renovated the downstairs of our home, including a kitchen and building an addition. Our home is breathtaking-our friends and family are literally astounded by the professional quality of the work and the beauty of it. Bob, the owner of CCI, is a skilled craftsman, is responsive and answers all questions and concerns. His crew are respectful and competent and also communicate effectively. They are trustworthy and were in and out of our home for just over a year-without incident or issue. Bob has vision and knows what will and will not work. Many other contractors we have worked with in the past give low bids then find issues that up the price. Bob prices jobs accordingly and in a straightforward manner. His subcontractors are very professional and know their craft. I will never have any work done by any other contractors-they are that good.

For the past several years we've enjoyed the kitchen that Colonial Carpentry remodeled for us in 2015. We live in a 100+ year old farmhouse whose kitchen previously had ancient plumbing, lead paint and a comically inconvenient layout. Colonial Carpentry did a complete kitchen gut and we have a new enlarged layout, windows, new electrical & plumbing, and of course new cabinets fixtures, countertops, floors. I will cut to the chase: the new kitchen is gorgeous--open, light, airy, functional, basically the hub of our family life. Not only would we hire Bob again, we HAVE hired Bob again for additional work on our home. Bob brings a trove of specialized knowledge and a genuine love and respect for old houses. He worked with us as he uncovered and addressed the innumerable complications that are part of renovating an old home: the floor was sagging, the ceiling had an insufficient number of carrying beams for the design, there was more termite damage in an exterior wall than we'd imagined. He worked skillfully with the design from our architects, and was imaginative when the original design fell short in some way. The infrastructure of the kitchen is great. Bob brought excellent subcontractors on site (a local electrician and a plumber) and everything works. The finish work is beautiful. He found reclaimed cherry board for the flooring, tested a number of finishes, and the floor is one of the most beautiful aspects of the kitchen. Along the way, when we didn't like how something looked, Bob would fix it until we were happy. Somewhere in the middle of any kitchen remodel, I understand that every homeowner wants to get a divorce from their contractor. This happened to us, too. The first few weeks, when demolition brings dramatic change every day, give way to a grueling late-middle period when visible progress is less clear and you are sick of eating pizza that fits in a toaster oven. Realistically, with an old house and a complete gut and layout change, there is just unpredictable stuff that the contractor is going to discover, and fixing those makes the schedule slip. Also, pro tip: don't go on vacation the first week of the new remodel, because things come up, you aren't there, and the team has to proceed and make decisions. Bob stayed in communication with us throughout the remodel and was very clear about every unexpected snag and could present us with options about how to proceed. We had a minimum of the (dreaded) change orders. Costs came in very close to the original quote. In sum, we are happy with the work, we are delighted with the kitchen and the money we spent, and we still have a good relationship with our contractor.

The contractor and his crew of workers arrived on time. The work crew consisted of four carpenters who were very professional. The job was scheduled to take two days and they were accomplish the removal and installation of the Marvin Integrity replacement windows in just one day. They also went one step further and fixed a crank out on my picture window was not part of the contract at no additional cost. I would definitely recommend Colonial Carpentry Innovations Inc to my friends.

I had a fair experience with them. There were issues between what the contract said to be done and what we understood to be done. The time frame is way off. It should have been completed four months ago. I think they have too many projects going on at the same time.
Description of Work: They've added a two story addition to my home, are remodeling a bathroom and adding a second bathroom.

Description of Work: This was my first major home renovation (kitchen) and had little understanding of the process. Bob was very kind and patient as I constantly changed plans and ideas as I learned more about the process. He connected me with a fantastic designer (Jason Urban-rkmiles). After all the dust had settled I realized that what I wanted done was way over my budget. Bob and Jason worked with me to find ways to decrease costs but in the end, we just couldn't make it work.

I purchased my house 4 years ago knowing that I was going to rehab it completely. Besides reinventing the downstairs I knew I wanted to have a dormer put on the second floor to increase the size of my bedroom, turn the unfinished attic space into a second bedroom and add a full bath. What an amazing transformation my home has gone through! Other contractors wanted to change the basic look of my cape style house, not Bob, he understood how much I loved the simple cape lines of the house. And of all the contractors, structural engineers and architects that looked at my house he was the only one who saw structural issues that needed to be dealt with before the project was started, he was honest and upfront with me every step of the way, an admirable quality for sure. Instead of building a dormer which would have given me a partially flat roof, Bob suggested raising the peak of the house by 4 feet. I knew the roof needed to be replaced, I liked the design they presented to me and the cost was within my budget. I watched and lived in the house while they literally took the second floor off and replaced it. The entire crew were friendly, courteous and completely professional, at the end of each day they were meticulous about cleaning up and leaving things as tidy as possible, don't forget, I was living downstairs the entire time. And it's not just being neat that has impressed both myself and anyone who has watched this transformation of my home, the quality of their work is unsurpassable. During the course of the project I decided I wasn't going to like how the outside was going to look; brand new second floor with a tired old looking ground floor. When I added replacing downstairs windows to match the upstairs windows, replacing the siding on the first floor to match the second floor and replacing the front porch, Bob took it all in stride. He gave me the opportunity to do the demo work myself and worked me into their schedule to do all the additional work. Bob has guided me through all of the decision making with a keen sense of what works best for both the style of my house and my own needs, personality and budget. He is always available for questions or concerns and goes out of his way to make sure his customers are pleased with the work his company has provided. If you are considering using Colonial Carpentry Innovations for any project small or large I highly recommend them, once you have experienced the quality of their work and the depth of their commitment you won't want anyone else to work on your home.

everything went smoothly. Bob Sklarz and his team of 4 workers, met every morning and discussed what they were going to do for that day.they did everything from tearing the inside walls down and started from scratch, our kitchen looked so small before, but by the time they had finished they it looked so huge, a wonderful amount of space that we are not tripping over ourselves to make a meal. It is cheery and bright. Bob had the best people in here. The electrician, the plumber, the insulators, the drywallers, and most of all, the architect that helped put this together, yet, i knew what i wanted. Nothing went wrong, He helped us to stay within our budget, he is very approachable and jovial, but has a serious side when it comes to detail. He was able to match the moldings, of the dining room, and living room, into our kitchen...exquisite! If something wasn't right, he'd have his men redo it...but that did not happen often, once maybe. I would recommend Bob Sklarz of Colonial Innovations , Inc. to anyone. He's a very good man, and an honest one, you will not find anyone better!

We found him through a builder who could not take on the job right away, so he gave it to Bob Szklarz of Colonial Carpentry. There was nothing bad about my experience with them. This man knows his stuff! We have a colonial home, and I loved everything he did, but, one of the things that he did was, he was able to match the colonial woodwork with the rest of the house, by hand. This guy was so good. They were able to round off the pieces and you should see what the place was like before, it was terrible, old wallpaper from the 1950's, with yellow counters. We didn't think we had a big space, but, with the space we had, which he used, he brought us in four times the amount of light that we would have had and a beautiful kitchen remodel with an island in the middle. It's absolutely gorgeous. He has four guys working for him and they all know everything. He is a meticulous kitchen designer and I would score him 'A' with five pluses on top. He worked with us for the price and we always had a morning meeting, then he would come in at night to see what they had done. He took six weeks to do the whole kitchen. If anybody wants a kitchen done right, he is the one. Before him, I had five people come in and give me quotes and I didn't like them, so I was glad I didn't go with them.
