Description of Work: Not a smooth process at all. The Vice President had to come to the house to see the issues and create a plan to fix them. Most roofs take 2-4 days, ours took 2 months.

Description of Work: Yhey did shoddy work, and caused me many problems. I never had a problem with my roof, until they replaced it. Then I had major leaks two years in a row resulting in significant damage. Finally this summer I had too pay a trustworthy roofer to fix Adam Quenneville's terrible work. It cost me an extra $8000. Shame on Adam Queneville. DO NOT EVER hire them. Their price was good, but their work was not, and it ended up being more expensive than the highest estimate I got, if you add in the cost of repairs to their terrible work.

{Member's name removed} signed a contract for her new roof 5/4/2012. The project was complete on 6/14/2012. On 2/19/2014 {Member's name removed} called in with water coming in. She stated that she had severe leaking. Our service technician was out to her home promptly that same morning. Upon arrival he made notes of the ice dams built up on her roof. He also noted that there was not an attic space which makes proper insulation and ventilation a hard task for a homeowner to prevent ice damming. Our technician explained that the ice dams were causing the water to back up and leak inside. He explained to her that in order to stop the leaking the ice dam would have to be resolved. She agreed to the snow and ice removal service. {Member's name removed} had stated that she had contacted her insurance company about the damage and Cindy Wilson from the insurance department at Adam Quenneville contacted her on 2/20/2015 to discuss the claim and {Member's name removed} stated that she did not need our services at this time. {Member's name removed} did have a 10 year workmanship warranty with our company as well as a 15 year warranty from the manufacturer. If there was a problem with the roof she could have called us and we would have come out at no charge to assess the situation and make any necessary adjustments. Unfortunately we were not made aware of any pending concerns after the snow and ice removal. We firmly stand by our workmanship and our warranties and strive for customer satisfaction. We are Master Elite Installers through the manufacturer and stand by our products. We sincerely apologize that {Member's name removed} did not reach out to us to assist her with her concerns.

Description of Work: Used Adam Quennevhlle Roofing on two projects: |They had installed the roof on my mother-in-laws house about 10 years ago. Several shingles were loose, and we had them come and repair the roof. They reacted quickly and the work, with the roof still under warranty, was done right away. In the year or so since, there have been no problems with the roof. |For our own roof, we asked them to provide an estimate to remove organic (oak leaves) and lichen from the shaded parts of the roof. They examined the roof, determined it had a remaining life of at least 15 years, so they gave us an estimate for cleaning vs. repair / replace. They did the work well and on time, and we've had no further problems with the roof (although I expect the lichen will eventually return.) Since then, they have added roof cleaning to their inventory of advertised services.

Description of Work: I hired Adam Quenneville Roofing and Siding to shampoo my roof; the roof had a mild build-up of mold and algae making my roof look black. The roof was shampooed and after it dried from the treatment there were some areas that were missed in the cleaning process as they were still black and there was mold that was visible on some of the shingles. I called the company the next business day to let them know about this problem and they did send two workers back out the following week to clean the missed areas and this time all of the mold/algae was removed. My biggest complaint with this company is that there seems to be little attention to detail when it comes to customer service. I made an appointment for a representative to come out and give me a quote for the roof shampooing. I was to be the first appointment of the day at 10 a.m. on a Saturday. When no one showed up by 10:15, I called the office and got the answering service. My call was referred to April who did show up later that afternoon to give an estimate but this was not a good first impression. April explained that someone had left the company and my appointment fell through the cracks. April told me that someone would call me the next day (a Monday) to schedule my appointment. When no one called by Tuesday, I called the office on Wednesday to scheduled the appointment. (April also called me back a couple of other times that Saturday afternoon. One instance was to try to sell me more of the service than I needed and another time to let me know that the workers bring the water with them that is used for the shampooing process - this was not the case as when they showed up Chris said that they didn't have enough water with them and could they use my water/hose which I allowed them to do but my water was running for the 3.5 hours it took them to clean the roof). When I called to reconfirm my appointment, I was told to expect the workers to show up between 8 and 9 a.m. They never arrived until 10 a.m. My time is just as valuable as the employees of Adam Quenneville. If they tell you a time you should be able to count on it and if they are delayed, they should call to let you know they are running late. When a company doesn't care about the customer service it provides, they shouldn't expect to get repeat or referral business.

DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. I had them come out in May to look at 3 skylights in my sunroom that had some random leaks and they told me that all I needed were 3 new flashing kits to be installed and they told me they would guarantee the work for a year for no leaks. Two weeks ago I started to notice spots on the wood and stains on my blinds inside the sunroom. This got worse last week with all the rain. Called and complained... Jeremy, VP, came out and told me that the window casings were cracked and old and windows needed to be replaced. They were supposed to provide pics before and after the job was complete in May and I never received them. He told me the pics are kept in the office and that he had looked at them before coming out. So I asked if windows looked this way back in May why make me spend money on new window flashings when the money could have been applied to new windows. Of course, no satisfactory response was given. So they collected money in May and now want $3,000 more for new windows. Very slick. He said he would send his guys out to seal the windows and have not heard back from him after several calls that the sunroom damage is becoming extensive. At the very least he could have put a tarp to avoid more damage, but no response. They are expensive and cannot be trusted. They say they guarantee their work, but they don't. The leaks are worse then they ever were to begin with. At this point, I will rather take the loss of $1,000 plus the loss of the sunroom damage, then to have them come back and do any work in my house. I will take it up with small claims court, the BBB and the MA Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulations.

They did the work in the time they said they would do. When they found there was a problem with the plywood, they came and explained it to me and asked me if I would want them to replace it. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. They were great all around, and I did not have even one complaint.

I wasn't happy. They left a mess here and 3 days after they did the roof a lot of the shingles blew off. I had to have them come back and everything. Weeks later we were still cleaning up the debris that was still left; shingles were inside of our bushes and nails were all over the place. I am happy with the roof so I don't want to give them an F, but a D for overall experience is appropriate. I will not use them again.

Response from Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding
It is hard to respond and make a customer satisfied having gotten this complaint 3 years after the work had been done. ANYTIME we receive word from a customer that has an issue with the work that we have done for them we immediately send out our representatives to their property to ensure our customers' satisfaction. We have a staff of quality control representatives that respond to customer concerns and are on site to ensure the best quality work is being done. They also, after the job is complete, walk around the property with the homeowner to make sure the customer is satisfied with the work that we have completed for them. If a customer has any kind of issue or problem, we encourage them to call us and let us know about it, so we can respond to it and make them a satisfied client.

We do appreciate the good feedback. We understand that we are not the cheapest guy out their. There are many contractors operating without licenses, without insurance, and working out of their pick up trucks with no office you can go visit if you have a problem or would like to speak to someone face to face. These contractors are not only less expensive than we are, but many of them leave the homeowner completely liable for anything that may go wrong on their property, such as a worker falling off the roof or weather that may damage the internals of the home during the middle of the job. At Adam Quenneville we take the necessary steps to give our clients peace of mind and we assume all of the risk and liability for anything that may go wrong on a job. We also provide exceptional warranties, above the industry standard. This does make us vulnerable to contractors that can underbid us and may be cutting corers. It seems like this homeowner was a little more price driven than quality driven, but we do appreciate the kind words she shared about our company.

I had hired AQ 2 times prior for roofing and window work with excellent results. This recent expeience was a different beast and I will never hire them again. The job as I found out many contractors later was way overpriced. The crew showed up after the estimator came (the estimator was supposed to come the first day, but didn't) and they put the wrong color shingles on the porch roof and didn't do the whole roof. They were working off a rough picture the estimator had drawn. After many frustrating phonecalls they replaced the new roof with the right color and completed the whole roof. Then I couldn't get them to show up for the siding job. I would take a morning off from work and they wouldn't show up. Then they would show up unannounced at a perfectly inappropriate time. They didn't do the siding job to code as I found out later. The new roof has done nothing but leak since the replacement and I get no satisfaction calling the office for help. And on and on. Never again!!!

I would not hire them again. They didn't use the same color vinyl on the house, they used different shades of beige. I didn't notice it until the sun was shining on it. They did not clean up after themselves, there were nails all over the ground. I spent 2-3 hours picking up the nails. Since they have done the porch, every time it rains, water comes in. Theres a place on the front of the house near the light fixture that they used a totally different kind of siding.

First they put on the wrong siding. Then they were supposed to come back and fix it. They bent all of my window screens while wrapping the windows. They left wires hanging out from under my house. There were pieces of trim left all over the yard. I was told my house looked horrible with the old siding off. They didn't give me a choice but to put the wrong siding back on. I started last August and things still are not quite finished yet.

Estimator came out at time promised. Originally, we wanted him to assess all of our roofs, even though we prioritized the garage. We also took him up to our re-finished attic, where we have been having condensation problems. He disagreed that we had a condensation problem and indicated that he had never heard of the things we were describing. He suggested we just plug up some areas where air might be coming through and he said if we got new windows, that would take care of it. This was inconsistent with all that we had read. We asked him to assess our house roof and he eye-balled it and declined to go up on the roof. He emphasized that we needed a new roof, flashing and gutters for our front porch and he agreed for the new roof on the garage. He pressured us with making a decision right on the spot and said that he would take off a percentage of the price. As part of the deal, they would require that we have their sign out front for one month. As an incentive, he also said he would include that the roofer would go up onto our main house roof and bang down areas that seemed to be raised. He wrote this on the contract that they would do this. A team of three or four men arrived about two weeks later. They came in a beat up van with New York plates and it appeared that none of them spoke english. They came on a day when snow was predicted and in fact it started to snow heavily right after they got there. They quickly stripped the roof and tried to place tarps around the garage to catch the debris and nails, however in the chaos of the snow falling around them, they in fact left a lot of nails around the work site. After they started, a large dumpster was delivered and they disposed of the debris in this. The dumpster was removed later that day after the job was completed. Remarkably, they completed the job, except for the gutters and the banging for the main roof. As the original phase of the job was completed in early December and what followed was a pretty heavy winter of snow and ice, they were only able to get back to putting on the gutters a few months later. They did not bang down the nails on the main roof as they agreed to and it took several attempts to have them come back to address it. The salesman who originally agreed to do this (and wrote it down as such) denied it when we pressed him. He called us back after much voiced dissatisfaction on our part and our withholding paying a part of the remaining balance. He stated that he and one of their roofers came by to check on the roof and the roofer decided that there were too many areas of loose tiles to make this feasible. Of course by this time, several month of winter had passed and we grew weary of their attitude and opted to just conclude our association with them. We paid the balance due to be done with the whole fiasco. It felt like they were now trying to sell us a new roof.

Response from Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding
To address the condensation in the finished attic: Our specialist who visited the property is fully versed in proper roofing ventilation and improper ventilation is the #1 reason you would have condensation in your home. He would have recommended to them that they install proper (up to code) ventilation to not only fix the condensation issue, but to ensure that the roofing system does not fail prematurely, as proper ventilation is crucial to the longevity of a roofing system. As far as the rest of this response is concerned: We did have a snow storm, but were able to complete the job as specified in the agreement. It is a routine practice that when we do winter roofing projects we may have to come back to do a spring clean up in order to properly clean the property. In this case, we did exactly that. From the beginning the specialist had recommended to re-roof the entire house. Apparently after the harsh winter the main roof had become even more decayed and in need of replacement. The "few nails" that were sticking up turned into being an entire main roof repair because it was happening over the entire roof. We were not contracted to do that, and recommended that this client get the main roof replaced.

It went fine. They came when they promised both for the estimate and the work. Friendly and informative. The only hitch was that after they came when they actually started the work there was some kind of sheathing needed for an area that had rotted near the roof line (and hadn't been visible). They called and told me about it and said they could do the work without addressing that for the previously agreed on price but suggested that I do the extra work which I did agree to. It looked good after they finished (the sheathing was exposed and they matched the color of the house) and hasn't leaked yet!

I never hired Adam Quenneville Roofing because his estimates were double that of any other contractor I met with. Also, he brought his very young son with him; it was awkward talking to him in front of his son about the price, so I didn't want to dicker, even though I did tell him that the price on the estimate was too high. One other thing; Nick Peters told me that he started the business years ago, and so I don't know who actually owns the company.
Description of Work: Nick Peters, a roofing specialist with Adam Quenneville Roofing, provided estimates for replacing the roof, windows, siding and gutters. The estimate he gave on the roof of an 1806 sq. ft. home was $13,160.00 (I am looking at the estimate right now); the replacement windows were even MORE expensive: $18,600.00. He said that the charge per window was $600.00, exactly DOUBLE every other contractors' estimate. The gutters and siding estimates seemed more reasonable, but because the other 2 jobs were priced too high, I wouldn't even consider hiring the company for the other jobs. With that, I didn't hire the company.

Even though it was specified in the contract that N.P. would be the project manager and his crew would do the work, they sent a different crew that did not have the knowledge to do the project correctly. They did not cut out the roof at the ridge vent area enough on two sections of the house, before putting on the ridge vents, and had to re-do them. They did not cut out the area at the roof edge before installing the drip edge vent, and then told us there was no air intake! (They had to come back and open it all up from the attic side.)They installed the lowest row of roof shingles with no overhang, so that the rain ran off the shingles and onto the vented drip edge louvers (They had to come back and remove the two lowest rows of shingles, install new ice and water barrier, and re-shingle so that the shingles overhung the roof edge the way they should). The project was a nightmare, and took 6 weeks, instead of 2 days, to complete. THE GOOD NEWS in all of this is that they were willing to re-do everything that was done wrong to begin with, and, ultimately, we have a completed project that is very high quality and looks beautiful. It is the nicest looking roof in the neighborhood. They give a "100% satisfaction guarantee", and we held them to it, and they did the right thing. I do not know if this just happened to be one bad crew, or what.
Description of Work: This was a complicated project, which required ventilation as well as roofing, because we had experienced ice dams. We chose this company because the person who estimated the project seemed very well-informed about both issues, which none of the 3 other companies did. They stripped 2 layers of shingles, put down full coverage ice and water barrier on the main house, installed a vented drip edge (to give air intake when there is no soffit) and ridge vents, and proper vents in the attic, to connect the crawl space attic with the upper attic.

As a company we cannot promise that everything on a job will go perfectly as planned. Human error is a factor in the home improvement industry, but what we can promise is that we will not stop trying to make our customers 100% satisfied with the work that we have completed for them. This seems to be an excellent example of our commitment to service and we are disappointed that we received a "C" rating from them.

Company representative, Jamie, appeared exactly on time and inspected the problem from the inside first and then climbed on the roof to get a good look. Left to get equipment to clear suspicious area. Unable to find anything that indicated cause of leak. Advised me to keep snow off section of roof where leak is most likely. Offered to come back after future snowstorms. Suggested replacing roof shingles in critical area in the spring. Made detailed notes on invoice. Jamie was thoughtful, pleasant and had a professional attitude about the problem.

Adam Quennville Roofing came when they said they would. I like a company that is well organized and they are. The work was done very professionally and they were pretty quick also. They were the higher price of all the companies I checked with but I liked the professionalism. They also stuck to the estimate they gave me.
Description of Work: Adam Quennville Roofing removed old shingles and installed new asphalt shingles on my 2500 square foot home. All debris was disposed of by this company.

Two people came out to give us an estimate and they were actually a couple of minutes early. They had large samples of the different shingles to show us, all mounted on a sheet of plywood. Very professional! They were able to give us an estimate on the spot. They also had copies of all of their credentials, Contractors License, Liability Insurance and Workman's Compensation Insurance. They also had certification from the shingle manufacturer showing them to be be licensed installers for the product. This made us eligible for a 30 year warranty. The job was finished in 1/2 a day with two crews working at once. The work was done about a year ago and it was great. We have had no problems. We were told when we signed up for the job that they would do the work within a week or two. He also said that if it was OK, we would get 24-48 hours notice before they started the work. I am sure he was able to give us a good price because out job was small and could be done as a fill-in.
Description of Work: They put a new roof on our house. It was done over one existing layer of shingles. They also took down leaking gutters and replaced some rotted fascia boards. Ice and rain membrane was also places on lower part of roof and new flashing was installed. The house is approximately 1500 sq. ft. and is a split ranch.
