Description of Work: There was no heat in my clothes dryer, so he disassembled the dryer and installed 1 burner solenoid kit. In addition, he cleaned out all the lint, including in the vent, greased rear bearing and front glides. He replaced all the parts.

+ -1 moreThe guy who came out was nice enough but he didn't instill complete confidence that he would be able to fix the problem. It was a lot of money I feel for taking a chance that this would work. He didn't seem to have encountered this problem before - I was getting brown rust stains on clothes when the got stuck in the space around the drum in the back of the dryer. So, if this worked, it will be money well spent. But $225 for an hour's work and one part seemed expensive to me.

+ -1 moreAt first, it seemed reasonable until I went on the Internet and found that this Whirlpool dishwasher was under recall because the motor was apt to catch on fire and was made in China. I guess Consumer Reports hadn't allowed for such in their ravings over this dishwasher. He then told me it would cost me $400 for the whole repair job, because "Sears didn't install the water lines correctly." That was funny, since I had no problems with the dishwasher in the last 3 years, and now all of a sudden it's not installed correctly. I will update this report when I finally either get this *expletive* dishwasher repaired or kick it out and buy another for the $400 he was going to charge me for repair.
Description of Work: The job was to repair my Whirlpool dishwasher: GU2500XTOQ1. Consumer Reports had made it a Best Buy 3 years ago, and I bought it from Sears. About 3 months ago, I noticed a loud noise when the water was coming in. Then in the middle of a CLEAN cycle, it started flashing a green light 7 times, then stopping. It refused to go further. He took the insides apart, and told me it was the motor, not mentioning that the motor was on recall.

+ -1 moreHE WAS VERY NICE. HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. HE WAS 1ST COMPANY THAT SHOWED UP FOR AN ESTIMATE. AFTER HAVING OTHER COMPANIES COME OVER AUTHORIZED APPLIANCE DID NOT RECOMMEND HAVING ANYTHING DONE TO MY HOUSE TO MAKE THE A/C WORK BETTER.
