The two electricians who came out did a good job at removing the old, completely full, small electrical panel and replacing it with a much larger box. They upgraded the grounding, labeled all the circuits at the panel box, and wired a new circuit for the microwave. They got the inspection and permit done very promptly. They were very competent and easy to work with, and it was actually finished faster than we thought it would be. We would definitely use them again.

Electrician drilled a hole in living room closet wall to connect an orange wire to junction box, and carried the wire through the house, holding it up with black bag ties, to the dryer outlet at the opposite end of the house. It looks disgusting. He is not professional at all.

Horrible. He hung an orange wire from the junction box in the living room closet all the way through the apartment, hung with black bag ties. He damaged the wall in the closet. It's disgusting he calls himself a professional.

Steve Keyes and company saved us a lot of money that we thought we'd have to shell out to dig a trench for new wiring, after several other electricians claimed that we needed to do that. Their team was very responsive, considerate and knowledgable, and the project manager, Rachel always stayed on top of the job with great communication and scheduling. They came out to give me an estimate, sent the estimate in a timely manner, and when they arrived to do the job and found out the actual problem, in the end they saved us hundreds of dollars. They fixed the lamppost that had not been working for more than five years! We would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

They did a great job, came over and gave us a very reasonable estimate, we hired them, and they showed up bright and early on the day we contracted them, to come over and did a great job, I would highly recommend them, and will hire them again.

Mike and Owen were professional, thorough, and extremely helpful. They answered all of my questions in a way that a lay person could understand. Mike even labeled the corresponding circuit breakers, as well as the entire circuit panel for me. Mike, Owen and Steve Keyes (owner) are totally awesome.

Steve's team of electricians, with Mike at the helm, did a fantastic job. I couldn't have been more pleased. Most of the wiring in the house needed replacing, including overhead lights in all the rooms. I had imagined huge holes in the ceilings or walls in order for them to accomplish this, but to my amazement they did the whole job with only two 4 inch holes in a closet upstairs, and an enlarged opening around a light switch downstairs. Steve offered the name of a guy who does great plastering to repair the holes, but I may not even need him to do it. The entire job was completed in 3 days, which was less than expected. They were on time each morning and cleaned up well after themselves. Steve emailed me back promptly when I first contacted him, but as he was very busy it took a number of weeks before we nailed down a time for him to come by and give me an estimate. It took a half hour for he and another electrician to look over the house, and I got an estimate emailed to me not long after that. Once he was hired Steve was readily available to talk or text by phone, and communication was good. I was home a lot while the work was being done. Mike was so easy to talk to and low key, it was very comfortable having the team working here. I had a great experience with Steve and his team and highly recommend them.

Steve was professional, courteous and competent. He answered all my questions. All electrical outlets are now working effectively. I am absolutely pleased with the service and cost effectiveness.

The work went really well. We had two electricians in our house removing the knob and tube and rewiring for a week while we were living here and my wife was working from home. They were very careful to avoid cutting holes in our walls or ceilings when not absolutely necessary. The estimate was very carefully laid out with clear prices for each part of the job, which helped us figure out what additional upgrades we could afford to do. I cannot say enough how careful they were to avoid unnecessary holes, to rewire parts of 3 floors of our house and leave only 4 holes that are not covered by (now properly hung) light fixtures is wonderful - and even those holes they tried not to have to cut. Part of the job was to install a bathroom fan which now keeps our bathroom fog-free. We would definitely hire Steve Keyes again and recommend him to our friends.

I hired Steve Keyes on the recommendation of friends in the building trades to remove knob and tube wiring that was discovered during a home inspection prior to purchase. He was great to work with - down to earth, competent, and quick to return calls when needed. Not everything was seamless, he had several other big jobs that seemed to complicated scheduling at the time, but that was ok for me and he was straightforward about it. He was very helpful in being willing to take time to address special issues and talk things through with me. I was very pleased with the experience overall and have had no problem recommending him to friends.

Called for them to come out and fix something and instead of charging us to come out he told us a simple fix over the phone. He seems very nice and well spoken. We will be using them again for future jobs for sure!!

We needed an electrician to come out right away because the fire department said the night before, when we called them about a burning electrical smell, that the circuit breaker for our water heater had to be cut off for the water heater fuse box because it was malfunctioning and causing it to get very hot and melt the plastic inside. This meant that we had no hot water.I called Angie's List because of a password problem and decided to try their concierge service, which was handled very professionally by Sean. I received a call, within a short period of time after speaking with Sean, from a contractor called and quot;ASAP.and quot; (They specialize in HVAC.) I spoke to Pat, who sounded very professional. They were too booked up, however, and could not get to us until the following Tuesday, so they referred me to Tim Paciorek Electrics. I spoke to Wendy, and had to wait for a call back from her there, because she needed to discuss our problem and scheduling with Tim. She called back to say that they were too booked up and Wendell was kind of out of their range. I called Sean back at the concierge service, but he was at lunch, so I left a message and began to look on my own. I was worried that we might be several days without hot water because many contractors do not respond or follow up on Wendell service calls in our experience. I Googled the people I'd spoken to and realized that they weren't that far away, but we have had a persistent problem with Pioneer Valley contractors thinking that our location is just too remote. We didn't have this problem with Steven Keyes (pronounced KIES), even though he is not far from the other contractors. In a city, contractors think nothing of a cross-city 25 to 45 minute drive to a customer, but here there is like a psychological block, or something. Mr. Keyes did add a $10 gas charge, which we did not object to. I had also left a message for JR Electric in Belchertown, and he called me back promptly and was polite. However, I had already booked Steven Keyes. Sean from Angie's List called me back right away after his lunch, by which time I'd already booked. Sean at the concierge service also followed up this morning. I tried to explain the Pioneer Valley to him as essentially operating as a city, or at least as a local economy, but being full of farms, forests and small towns, so many contractors do not want to provide service for a little town they've never heard of, or imagine to be so remote, but it's hard to understand if you don't live here. This problem is why we joined Angie's list in the first place. I would use the Angie's List Concierge Service again, and would not have searched on my own had it not been urgent and likely to be difficult to get someone out here right away.Thank goodness we have hot water today and no fire hazard Thanks to the guys at Steven KeyesElectrician Inc. Good service is a really big deal!

Steve came out to determine what needed to be done and sent his crew later that week to do the work. Both Steve and Mike (the job boss) were professional and worked right along. Steve gave an estimate that included indicating what costs might be associated with work that might need to be done to get the house ready for blown-in insulation, depending on what they found. Mike showed up with an assistant and they set to work at once, identifying things that could be done at no extra cost to improve the electrical system in our old house. They finished up in less time than Mike had indicated the job could take and did more than the bare minimum we required -- at each step letting me know what they recommended an why. I wa very pleased with everything they did.

Excellent professional experience.

The job started out well, and was expected to take 1 to 2 days to complete. No work got done unless I called to check-in, and even at that it took over three months to complete and have power. The finished product was well laid out and neat. I chose Steve because of his A+ rating on Angies list, so I do not know what went wrong here.

I gave the whole story in the first box no need to repeat it.

A great guy to work with. Very honest. I highly recommend him.

Stephen Keyes Electric did a good job for us.

I think we got them during a period of transition in the company, so there was a lot of problem with communication between us and him and his workers. We liked everyone individually, one on one they were all great. There were a lot of problems with communication and work not being done that should have been done and it required a huge checking up on my part and the result was actually a lot of wasted money in terms of carpenters having to redo work because the electricians making holes later than they should have made them. We think that it was a good price. We will not use them again.

His name is Steve Keyes and he was recommended by a friend. It was a big project. We were incredibly happy with the work that they did and it seems great so far. The project took nine days to finish. The project took a lot longer than they anticipated because our house is old and has a lot of quirks, but they got it done. They even came back an additional time to fix a couple of things that hadn't been done earlier. They were just really easy to work with and great. I am not that familiar with how their pricing would compare but it seems fair to us. They sort of came at different times every day and left at different times and I was not always sure on what was happening in that respect. They were very professional.

Arrived on time for arranged estimate, (left if with us the same day). Arrived on time when we notified him that porch ready for 1st phase (installation of boxes etc.) Arrived on time when we notified him that room was completed and ready for finish work. I was kind of desperate in that I had made an appointment with another electrician and he didn't show or call to say he wasn't showing. I called Steven Keyes on Thurs or Fri, and he agreed to come Monday morning even though he was scheduling farther into the future. I really appreciated the willingness to work with me, as I had been waiting a long time to get this job done. The guys who did it were courteous and professional, and did a good job from all appearances.

I was impressed with the actual interactions, but not with the follow-up in terms of getting back to me.

Steve gave me an estimate two days after I called. We scheduled the work within a week. They arrived as promised, provided advice and options and completed the work efficiently. They were very professional and I will definitely call him again.

We didn't end up using Steven because someone else was just a bit cheaper and we knew them through a personal connection and recommendation. I think he would have done a great job though. He spent a lot of time at the house to get a good estimate. (It was a free estimate.)
