Paul was a great referral to us from a friend, and I would do the same going forward without second thoughts. Paul was able to review the job within a day of calling him, provided quick pricing and was up front about his schedule and when he could complete the work. As we got closer to the start date that date didn't slide, and Paul and his crew performed the work in good quality, good communication, and a timely manner.

Paul is responsive and thorough with communications. His worksite is tidy and clean up was great! The quality of his work was good and everything was completed on time.
I hired Paul and his team to install crown molding in 4 rooms of my newly purchase home. They did an excellent job with project. Everything was very professional, on-time and well-executed from the initial assessment/estimate to completion. He was even able to offer his own personal design opinion based on his years of experience. This was extremely helpful. Paul and his team were meticulous with the finishing touches and clean up as well. I will definitely hire him again.
Excellent. Working in Back Bay adds an additional level of difficulty. But Paul was dedicated and reliable. He really went out of his way to finish this job.
Description of Work: This was a gut renovation of the top floor of a brownstone in Back Bay. It included new kitchen, two new bathrooms and addition or replacement of electrical, hvac and plumbing. In addition, the floors were redone and the entire unit was painted. There was also a great deal of custom carpentry.

Very well. He finished the job on time. Some of the people he hired did not clean well after. But, he came and took care of it.

We are very pleased with the end-result and love that our home feels "like new". It is now more modern and the space has opened up significantly. Paul was thoughtful in his first evaluation of the work, bringing in colleagues such as a structural engineer at the very start of the project to ensure we knew all options and took serious consideration of the work before it started. Overall: - As with any (if not every) project, there are unexpected delays or costs - Paul communicated these clearly and explained if & why additional work was necessary - Initially the team was very mindful of keeping the place clean and organized, however we left after a short time which allowed for the necessary movement (furniture, work stations, etc) and havoc that is part of any renovation to take place - The biggest lesson we learned is to not stick around, if possible; when leaving, stow away and cover all personal belongings - Given all the subcontractors were hired and managed by Paul, there was not any direct contact with them and therefore not much insight into the work being done, however Paul stayed in constant communication and was available to take our calls & questions; he was very forthcoming and receptive to our feedback
Description of Work: We renovated our kitchen and main bathroom; we live in a two-bed, two-bath condo on the third (top) floor of a roughly 130-year old building in a residential area of townhouses. The work included a complete demo of both rooms: removing cabinets, flooring, appliances, etc. Although we kept the original layout of both, the overall work included the following updates: new cabinetry, flooring, tiling, glass shower enclosure, custom shelving, counters, appliances, and electrical, plumbing, plastering + painting. We did add additional, smaller projects in the space during the course of the renovation - including buffing the floors of the main stairwell and living / dining area, sanding and painting the railing of the main stairwell, adding shelves to existing built-ins, mounting a television, etc. We were responsible for purchasing and shipping materials such as the cabinetry (kitchen & bath), accessories, hardware, counters and tiles. Paul managed the hiring, scheduling, and payment to all sub-contractors (ex. plumber, electrician) who were in turn responsible themselves for the permits and inspections for their respective services.

I recently purchased a property and hired Paul as the head guy who I could work with because of his knowledge. I thought I would have to be on site everyday because I thought I was the only one that could get it done right with eyes on the contractors. How wrong I was Paul done everything literally from start to finish he was relentless in making sure me the customer was happy. And that I was in no longer need to look for a contractor.

Paul was easy to work with throughout the process. He provided a detailed quote up front, flagged several scenarios that might involve additional cost, and communicated throughout the project. He provided photographs of the work as it went along (which were helpful for me to share with the other building owners) and he made sure we were completely satisfied with the job before collecting full payment. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone in the area looking for carpentry work.

Great. Paul takes a lot of pride in his work down to the smallest detail. He did an amazing job on our brownstone reno, from framing up new walls to building a new staircase. He also works hard and stays late when he needs to hit a deadline, and is willing to walk you through what he's doing and how whenever you want. Would recommend Paul for any carpentry job, and we're considering him for additional work on our house.
Description of Work: Full gut renovation of a 2,500 sqft brownstone. Paul did all of the framing, carpentry, cabinet installation, reworked an old staircase, basically anything involving wood in the house.

Terrific. Paul is a great listener and very accommodating. Work is top notch, doesn't cut corners. Done ahead of schedule and under budget. Very trustworthy, left him a set of keys. Cleaned up completely. He'll be back to do more custom built-ins around our house.
Description of Work: custom closets for our new house
I can't say enough about McEvoy Construction and the owner, Paul McEvoy. He answered my calls promptly, answered all my questions and was very communicative about what work would be done and when his crew would be in to do it. He always followed up with me to make sure the day went well and to make sure I didn't have any other questions. I've worked with a lot of contractors and the best thing about Paul is how professional he runs his team and his projects. It's really reassuring as a consumer to know what's happening each step of the way...especially since I know nothing about construction!
Description of Work: McEvoy Construction built: 1. A custom drawers and shelving for my bedroom. 2. A custom kitchen breakfast nook 3. Custom picture frames for my grandfathers art 4. Custom kitchen table 5. Also did a ton of small things around the house, like handing large pictures, repointing and sealing the brick in my basement, landscaping of my backyard
