We've had several chairs recaned by the caning shop. They have always done top notch work. Their prices aren't the best in town and they can take a while to get the work done but we've always been very happy with the quality.

The only reason why I wouldn't use them again would be because of their price.
Description of Work: They repaired a wooden chair for me.

Bill and his crew did a lovely job. The chair was better than it had ever been. That's the good news. The bad news is that they were slow-slow-slow. When I dropped it off he said 2 weeks for an evaluation. The prognosis was 2 more weeks for the repair. It kept being another week...when the dust had settled 10 weeks had passed before it was done. But remember, a lovely job. Definitely use him if you are not on a schedule.
Description of Work: Repaired a nice old rush chair that a large friend had sat on and totally busted. The front horizontal for the seat was snapped, so to fix it they had to remove the old rush, do a lot of gluing, and re-rush.

Excellent experience. Bill Fischer was really great at explaining our options. The price seems a lot, but these dining room chairs are old and needed special treatment and materials. He obviously knows what he is doing and we expected to pay in this range. We could have chosen a cheaper alternative but didn't. His attitude is very service oriented and accommodating. I can't comment on the speed, as we told him to take his time as we were away for a long while. I would definitely recommend The Caning Shoppe.
Description of Work: We needed four antique chairs re-caned to match as close as possible the remaining 8. We also needed some repair to the back of the chairs.
