+ -1 moreWhen I went out there they were destroying my yard. They pulled down my fence, my retaining wall and destroyed a flower bed and part of my sidewalk. Their explanation was that they were hired by the neighbor to put up a fence and they also claimed to be landscapers. They didn?t have fencing materials or equipment. They had no authorization and it was a total shock to me. I had to call the police.
Description of Work: Someone called me to tell me there was a group of men in my yard.

+ -1 moreScott Evans repaired a gutter and facia board a few weeks earlier and recommended replacing the worn out asphalt flat roof with rubber roofing. I have a slate roof that joins into the rubber roof and wanted a roofer with slate experience and Scott has this experience. He agreed to do the job on 5/14 and arranged for the necessary permits and inspections. Scott and his crew were very professional, worked hard all morning, cleaned all debris. We have had a few rain storms since then and there are no leaks and although I cannot see the roof, the edges look great!
Description of Work: Scott Evans, owner of Red Hammer Roofing, recommended replacing worn flat roof with the following: Stripped existing roof down to wood decking flat roll roof and 20-25 slate Install 1/2 inch fiber board with plates and screws Glue 0.60 rubber roof system to fiber board install 6 inch edge metal to entire perimeter Flash with 6 inch cover tape Install slate and babby where needed (provide slates if necessary) Clean and remove all debris 50 linear feet wood decking included in proposal

+ -1 moreI called Red Hammer Roofing to 0n 4/29/14 and Scott Evans, owner, came that afternoon to evaluate the problem and recommended replacing the facia board and gutter. He is very professional, answered all my questions and explained the process his crew would use. He provided information about his insurance coverage. Scotts bid was in the range of 2 other bids. I decided to hire Red Hammer Roofing. Mike Evans, Scott's brother, arrived with a crew of 2 on 5/2 to do the work. They completed the job, which looked great, and cleaned all the debris. The fist time it rained there were no leak! Scott and his crew were very professional, responded to my initial call quickly and I was very satisfied with the work done. I will rehire Red hammer for other repairs my roof will need.
Description of Work: My house had a gutter pulled loose by snow and ice. In the spring when roof snow melted a leak occurred in the room below this damage. The work done was removing and replacing 25 feet of facia and gutter and clean up debris and remove it.

+ -1 more12/4/12 Scott and Mike Evans and their men were professional from start to finish. I really appreciate their effort and hard work and wouldn't hesitate to call them again or recommend them to my friends and family.
Description of Work: 12/4/12 Scott and Mike Evans and their men did a number of jobs on the exterior of my house on Nov. 27 and Nov. 29, 2012. They cleaned and sealed all gutters, secured any loose metal trim, mainly on the third floor. They added roof cement on the third floor front to seal the area near the bay window. They removed the entire gutter on the driveway side of the house, removed the cracked and rotted fascia board and installed a new fascia, rewrapped the new fascia with new cover metal, and put back the original gutter. They made weep holes in the old storm window frames on the third floor to allow drainage and prevent leaks .They cleaned out a birds' nest in the exhaust vent to my kitchen stove and properly secured screening to prevent their return. They replaced 2 damaged or missing clotheslines.

+ -1 moreDuring a series of storms, a leak opened up on the roof by the chimney. It did $900 of damage to the closet below it while I tried to get someone in to fix it. (Two and a half-story house with a steeply sloped roof.) Once I reached Red Hammer, my troubles were over. They came when they said they would, did a thorough job of repairing and replacing, fixed the leak, and charged me $300. When we re-roof in a few years, I'm calling these guys first.
Description of Work: Replaced roofing and subroofing on a leaky area beside a chimney. Resealed the area and the adjacent flashing.

+ -1 moreRed Hammer came out to look at a roofing job for me. The representative was nice and appeared thorough. I was prepared to accept his bid, but wanted him to look at a second roofing project. He said he needed to come back with another person for that. He never did. I waited two weeks and then called him to check in. He promised to come by. Again, he never showed up, called, or provided the second estimate.
Description of Work: I asked Red Hammer to provide an estimate on a roofing job.

+ -1 moreWhen I called Scott, he came out the very next day and repaired the rubber roof. He did a good job and it does not leak anymore. He also did another job for me. I had had new roofing put on a front porch roof and the person did not complete the job correctly. I called Scott in and he had to remove the shingles and fix the flashing.
Description of Work: Scott Evans did some roofing work for me. I have a flat section of my roof and I had someone put a rubber roof there because of a leak and they did not install it correctly. Two months ago, Scott repaired that botched job.
