I have a 100-year-old single family home that is in need of some repairs. I hired MJ Repairs to do what I thought would be a small repair job - replacing the facia boards on my front porch so that the house could be painted. As it turned out, the facia boards needed replacing because water had leaked into the roof and rotted pretty much the entire ceiling of the porch/floor of the second floor porch. Maykel gave me what I thought was a fair price to expand the work and replace pretty much the entire second floor porch floor and the first floor porch ceiling. His crew was professional and showed up on time and ready to work. They did a great job rebuilding the porch in just a few days time. After the job was completed, there was a problem with the front porch light not going on. After I told Maykel about this, he came back and told me that there was a leak in the roof his men had installed. He immediately owned the problem, and although they were involved in another job, they came back within a couple of weeks and took the porch apart and re-did it to fix the problem. Although I was not happy that there was a problem, I had complete confidence that Maykel would fix it; he is very honest and and good workman. The porch is now solid, everything is working great. So I would give MJ Repairs a solid recommendation.

MJ Repair did a great job with the renovations I hired them to help with. I had them do primarily outdoor work on the house: house repainting, window replacement, and gutter replacement. The change in aesthetics of the house are astounding.and the reason I'm writing the review is because the work was so good and so easy compared to what I've seen in other situation. First off, I really appreciated that MJ made the work so easy on me personally. They were polite, responsive, took the initiative to let me know what was going on rather than me running around after them (which usually happens). Their billing was transparent and reasonable. And as for the quality of the work, it just looked like they took care to make sure it was done right. There were no missed areas or drips of paint where they shouldn't have been. Just good quality work. It was overall one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor in the area.

I needed to renovate 2 bathrooms in a 3 family house. But once we started the job one thing led to another - as if often the case in old houses where the plumbing is not up to modern standards. For example there were several places where brass pipes were used and soldered to copper pipes - that is a NO NO. But the guys at MJ Waterproof spotted the trouble and replaced the pipes and ended up running new pipes to the bathrooms and avoiding the old, antiquated system which fed the bathrooms off the kitchen sinks. Furthermore each of the three kitchen sinks in the house required repairs as well, and these were done as needed. They installed a new sink in my apartment and put up a tile backslpash. The bathrooms were completed and the final upgrade is dramatic - new electrical system - lights, outlets...also new toilets and sinks. I decided to keep the old cast-iron claw foot tubs but we painted them to match the tile - green in one and black in the other. The tile for each bathroom was a mosaic patter, and a little more expensive - ok a lot more expensive - than ordinary ceramic tile, but the results were well worth it. Both bathrooms now are stunning, which is especially skillful considering they are small rooms. I am very satisfied with the final product and would recommend MJ Waterproof and Marcos Dietrich ffor any job.
