was able to come the same day which no other provider agreed to do. called when he was in the area and arrived right on time. offered to wear shoe covers to protect floors (not necessary for us, but how nice!). managed to get furnace working but recommended a new furnace (which we were advised by another vendor as well). John was very pleasant and knowlegable. when the furnace stopped working again the next day (a SATURDAY!), my husband called and he called right back and walked us through the steps to get it working again. amazing service! we had to follow up to get the quote for the new furnace, but we received it pretty quickly after that.

He is very responsive. He is capable, considerate, and clean. I would definitely call him again.

Just fine. I didn't like having to deal with the sewerage leaking into my basement in addition to flood waters but I was very happy to have John A to help. He was extremely busy at the time but still responded to my calls and needs.

Because of the glowing reports on this list, I called Aldorasi at leave five times over a period of several months. In two messages I left, I asked specifically that if he was too busy to take on new jobs, would he please call and let me know so I could look for someone else. He never returned ANY of my calls. He may be a great plumber, but I don't care how busy you are, this is no way to treat a new customer. If you're that busy, your voice mail should say that you are not accepting business from new customers.

Previous home owner had put a nail hole in a PVC drainage pipe coming from the upstairs guest bath, then spackled and painted over the area. We discovered it when the kitchen wall started coming apart. JC came the very next morning and made the repair.

When my water heater burst I called all 5 top-ranked plumbers from Angie's list. I have to say the experience was underwhelming: 2 didn't return my call within 24 hours. Aldorasi asked for $940 for the heater (list price) and $500 for work (about half a day). The other two guys who did reply asked -- for exactly the same work -- $400-700 more. In other words, for a half-day of work, the cost could be anywhere from $500 to $1200. I did the math and went with Aldorasi. He responded promptly to any inquiry, got here on time, did a superb job, and provided me with all the receipts in order to get the Massachusetts $50 rebate. All in all, professional, reasonably priced service.

I have used John in the past and was quite pleased. But I called him three times over the course of about ten days, leaving detailed messages, and never received the courtesy of a reply. Very disappointed! That delayed my getting to others to get the job done, and I was on a firm date schedule.

Came out, took notes and said he'd get me an estimate. Never heard back. When I tried to call, it'd roll to voice mail and his mailbox is full. Otherwise, he was a great guy and I would have loved to have him help me out.

John's done a great job both times. For the shower, John's fix required some tile work, and he coordinated this work with a colleague of his so that the whole repair went smoothly. By far the best plumbing experience we've ever had in Cambridge.

As water was rising in my basement I called Mr Aldorasi early in the morning. Despite presumably being very busy with the floods he called me back shortly afterwards, and advised me on what to do with care and considerable attention. By the following morning the water had risen high enough to put out the pilot light of the water heater but had then largely receded. The heater had a notice saying it should only be lit by a professional and I was worried about gas so I called him again. He called me back almost immediately and had arrived within 2 hours, despite the fact that again he must have been busy the basement was still wet and not a nice place to work, checked the heater and relit him. I was very grateful to him for getting back to me so quickly and sorting everything out.

I called John to see if he would come out and give me a proposal for a boiler that needed replacing. There was a tenant in the apartment so I was looking for a quick turn around. He returned my call at the end of the same day I called him. He explained that he was a one-man shop and that he couldn't handle a job that big and that he had was taking on jobs a month out. I appreciated the timely call back and was expecting that to be it, but he stayed on the phone several minutes with me. He gave me a ball park estimate of a basic heating system (very close to another proposal), suggested that I call the utility company for the best price, and cautioned me about plumbers taking the easy (cheaper) way out by using copper to connect from the boiler to the black iron pipes. He finished up the call by telling me to call back if I had any other questions about a "proper" install. I will definitely keep his number around in case I need something in the future.

He responded to my phone inquiry the same day and set up an appointment within a week ( we were not in a rush). He was punctual, professional and did a good job. His cost was very reasonable.

Well sometimes it takes John a while to get to his messages on an initial non-emergency call and this time was no different. He called back the day after I left him a message. When he determined that we had another bathroom to use he scheduled the job for a week later due the urgency of other work that he had. As usual he arrived exactly at the time stated and went over each aspect of the job with me. As I had not quite completed one of the bathrooms he was gracious enough to do the hookups and then show me how to take them apart and reassemble them so that the backsplash could be installed with no chance of damaging the vessel sink or waterfall faucet. The other two bathrooms were complete hookups of the sinks. The work was of excellent quality and the price was fair. John charges by the hour and for parts, not by the job. We now consider John "our plumber" and will continue to use him.

I almost hesitate to say how good John is, because he's definitely the first person I'll call next time I have a plumbing problem. He returned my call within a couple of hours, and because he was already in the area, was able to come in a half-hour to deal with a radiator that was leaking all the way through the floor. He took a look, knew exactly what to do to give me the temporary fix that was all I needed (drain the heating system a bit, replace a part) at a small fraction of the cost of replacing the radiator, which another plumber had presented as the only solution (not practical because it would be replaced in 2 weeks anyway) and which would have cost $2,000. John showed me exactly what the problem was, suggested what to do in the future to keep the system running well, and was completely professional in every way--plus a nice guy. I don't have enough good words to say about him; the first really positive plumbing experience I've ever had. I plan to use him for additional work I've been contemplating, because I feel very confident that John will look for the most cost-effective, accurate solution that meets my needs.

Good experience - he took care of all of our radiators, checked the furnace, drained it fully and taught us how to maintain the system ourselves.

John was prompt, professional and knowledgeable about the two different furnaces. He did not try to sell me new parts or service I did not need. In fact he charged me far less that a full service on the newer furnace because it was in good shape. I would certainly have him back, and have arranged to cancel my gas company service contract- I would rather he did the work.

Our water heater was leaking. John was polite and professional when he came out for a free estimate. He let us know that power vent water heaters were more expensive which we found out they were. John had planned on installing a brand that was different than the one we already had. When we asked that it be replaced with the same brand (more expensive), he agreed and did not change the total cost. He replaced the water heater, cleaned up the area, and took care not to track into the house. We would definitly call John for other plumbing/heating issues. The only reason we gave him a B for responsiveness was that he took a few days to get back to us to schedule the work. Once scheduled, he was prompt and efficient.

We had a leak, and water was dripping through the ceiling from the bathroom to the kitchen. Although we tried to figure out where it was coming from, we had no clue. When we called John and explained what was happening, he knew right away what it was, and came prepared the next day to replace the washer. Every thing's been dry since.

Contacted John in late June by leaving a voicemail with a short description of the problem. He got back to me quickly, pretty much nailed the cause of the problem right there and in general sounded very knowledgeable and professional. We both had vacations coming up so actual appointment was on 7/31/09. He called in advance to let me know he's coming and arrived on time. Did the work quickly and accurately, making sure not to mess up the room. Added extra joints to the plumbing fixtures so that future repairs could be done faster (sewage pumps last only 5-6 years on average...). John charges 95$/hour, so he's probably not the cheapest you can find, but I believe it was totally worth it. Total cost included 3 hours of labor and cost of extra fixtures (I bought replacement pump myself). Absolutely would hire him again.

This is not the first time we have had John do plumbing work for us. He always brings what he needs, based on the information we give him, so he doesn't need to run out to the hardware store. He works quickly, and we we have always been pleased with his work.

We would have hired this company and will call them again. This estimate was a bit higher than another company that we went with.

He came to my house within a few hours of my call, told me I needed to replace my water heater, and also that I needed an electrical fix to bring me up to code on the water heater. He took care of permits, getting the electrician, etc. The installation was beautifully done, and he left no mess. As a matter of fact he helped me wring out towels, etc. Also before he left he correctly identified why my dishwasher was backing up water and fixed it for me (removing a plug on the new garbage disposal) at no charge, saving me what probably would have been a replaced dishwasher if someone less honest had looked at it. I probably could have had it done cheaper, but not more to my satisfaction than with John. (He did give me an estimate and told me to feel free to call around before going ahead with him). Important to know: he does not take credit cards. Hire him with total confidence. I will certainly call him next time.
