Green Goat Lawn Care

It was fabulous. The whole property hasn't looked this good in years. The plantings have sprung back to life and are flourishing. We were pleased to see the guys did most of the work by hand, there was maybe a total of an hour of leaf blowing. The collected all the yard waste and disposed of it. They used Wilson Farms for the mulch which also made us happy - locally sourcing is important to us. We look forward to a long relationship with this company! We've already scheduled a fall cleanup and requested our shrubs be trimmed back after their blooms fade. We can't say enough good things about this company.

John, the manager, and his team were great. John took the time to go over everything that he thought he should do to the garden (which needed some serious help) in advance. He is really nice and gave me his cell phone number in case we wanted faster service (it can sometimes take a little while to get a response from the main office -- I assume they are very busy). We haven't received an invoice yet for the spring clean-up, but they also have mowed our grass from time to time and are reasonably priced.

They arrived, friendly and responsive to my requests (please clear window wells, please close dog yard gates), did a great job and left the place looking great.

I like their service, I just don't know what's going on. When they come out they're good, but they've just disappeared.

Set up an appointment, waited around for a couple hours just in case and Mike no showed. He did apologize stating he forgot after I contacted him. When I asked to reschedule ASAP so I could submit estimates from 2 other companies he told me it wasn't worth his time. "i really don't want to waste your time by giving you an estimate that is more than another companies...Sorry to keep you waiting but i really don't want to compete for the lowest price" I pointed out it's not that were going for bottom line cheapest, we just want to make sure we are paying a competitive price to a competent company. Doing my due diligence... "i just merely stated that you are getting multiple bids so two of the companies at least that are going over and writing up a proposal are doing it for nothing...Many companies in my line of business do not carry insurance or even hire illegals which is a practice i do not participate in.. Those facts alone drive my costs up.." So based off this alone, I'd highly recommend getting at least one other price estimate before signing with Mike.

Wi have used this company two years in a row communicate via email and very pleased

First, Mike was very responsive to my inquiry and followed up quickly with a plan to visit and give me an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable, plus he was offering a special through Angie's List. The work was delayed a couple days due to weather and then the marathon bombing, but Mike was in touch during that time assuring me he'd get it done as soon as possible. I was away when he did the work but came home to find beautiful beds with organic dark mulch and no more wintry debris in the beds or yard.

In general Mike was a pleasure to deal with. THe work performed was mostly done to satisfaction and if something wasn't Mike was happy to make it right. I did have to spend a little time reminding him of the details of the work and a few items did not get done that were to have been done, but I didn't pay for those either so mostly no harm. The crew was courteous and variable in terms of how well and fast they worked. Scheduling was a little bit of a dance but I was not under a strict deadline. If I had been I might have been miffed. I will hire again

I contacted Mike on 19 November to ask if my badly neglected yard could be cleaned up before the winter settled in. He replied that night telling me as long as there's no snow on the ground, it's never too late. He asked for my address and I waited, thinking he was dropping by to give me an estimate. He also told me if I could wait 3 weeks, they'd be in off season and have more time. I said that was fine. 3 weeks later on 12/16 I contacted him asking if he'd had an estiamte. He hadn't even gone by yet. He told me he would swing by that afternoon and be in touch that evening. Two days later I wrote asking him if he'd gone by, he told me he'd contact me that night (12/16) and I never heard a word from him. The next day he replied back telling me it was a big job, he said X workers and X hours involved. This is now about a month after my initial contact and the week he led me to initially believe the work would be done. No clean up and the ground is now covered in snow. I replied and told him to forget kit, I found someone else to do the work. This guy plays email tag and you have to initiate responses, he doesn't reply back when he says he will. I wouldn't try to use him again nor would I recommend him to anyone looking for yard work to be performed. Unprofessional if you ask me and poor communication on his part. I know this looks bad given all the glowing reviews but I have all the emails saved if anybody wants to verify this is a bad transaction and not just me trying to give someone a bad name. He does that on his own very well. Maybe I just had an off experience with him. I don't know. It doesn't matter at this point.

I was collecting quotes from various landscaping businesses. Mike forgot to stop by when he said he would over the weekend but responded immediately when I checked in about it. His quote was $75 higher that another company. When I told him that I went with someone who was less costly he explained why his cost was higher. "I understand there are cheaper landscape companies out there--the main reason is they are not insured and they do not pay workers legally so they do not have the same overhead as companies that are do things legally...it's unfortunate that many contractors don't have insurance and do not make the homeowner aware of there risk...if one of the contractors helpers gets hurt on someones property the homeowner is responsible for their medical bills and try to sue for loss wages if they can't work (the homeowner policy should cover it but it would cause your rates to go up." I respect his business practice and told him that I would note it in my report on Angie's List.

I was happy with the service I got from Green Goat Lawn Care.

The requirements that I gave to Mike were that the work be dog-friendly, low maintenance, and fairly inexpensive. Mike came up with a plan that met those requirements, and kept in touch with me via email with updates since I wasn't home for most of the work. We got a bit of a late start, since I contacted him late in the spring, his schedule was pretty booked, and the weather didn't cooperate for much of the time either, but he got his crew out here whenever scheduling and weather permitted, and the results more than met my requirements. Look forward to working with Mike in the future for maintenance and additional landscaping.

I found them annoying to work with. Sometimes you just don’t click with people.

They were excellent. Mike, the owner, was wonderful. If I had not moved, I would continue to use their service.

I've used this firm twice so far. I work a weird schedule so I contracted the job with them via e-mail. They came when they said the would and did an excellent job. They were a little expensive, but are reliable and do a good job. I'd recommend them to those seeking similar services.

They come out and do spring and fall maintenance. I use them every year.

I did not have any problems with their estimate process. I was drawn to them because of their emphasis on being organic and nonpolluting. Moreover, I believe they did have good ratings on Angie’s List. I am currently using them for lawn and yard work.

Green goat did an excellent job cleaning the snow off our driveway and sidewalk. However, their prices were pretty steep. They always came but sometimes it was several hours after the snow had stopped. They seemed very aggravated when we called a couple of times to ask about their ETA.

Green Goat was able to fit us in at the last minute before an outdoor party. We had thought we were going to be able to do the work ourselves, but we couldn't have done it without them! The crew was extremely thorough and worked quickly in spite of the really hot weather. Everyone was friendly and punctual, and the work was done on time. The bill was the same as the estimate quote.

They are incredible. They are great. The last visit was the only visit so far. They are incredibly responsive. They do an amazingly thorough and cheerful job. They are very accurate with their estimates. It’s just a pleasure to deal with them and that’s the big thing. Not only is the owner wonderful but all of the people he hires are very polite and very respectful which often isn’t the case especially in lawn care stuff. They were terrific. Their price was good for what they did. I will use their services again in the future.

.They did a good job for me. They were pretty expensive. The problem is they are so busy it took me 3 weeks to get hold of them. I am trying to get hold of them again to mow my lawn because it is long again. But they are very busy. I had called a bunch of them but they were the only ones who responded even though it took them two or three weeks to come. He says he charges $55 per hour and uses 3 guys. But he says he pays for benefits and things like that. So they are not cheap. It took long time to arrange them but when they finally said they will come they came when they said they would. I will continue to use them.

They were very helpful and proactive. Their work was neat and tidy. They work independently without too much checking in and they do their job without having us to be there.

It was a package deal for the whole thing. They began in late May and finished in October. They were terrific. They were upfront about stuff and easy to work with. They did a good professional job. I am expecting that I will continue the relationship.
