Description of Work: My washing machine wouldn't go through the spin cycle. Dell Appliance sent a technician promptly; he arrived within the prescribed time slot and diagnosed the problem (worn out belt and lid-switch). He asked for half of the estimated $200 cost up front (no problem), because he would have to order the parts and then return to do the repair. He was courteous and professional, calling me when the parts came in to schedule the return visit. My only complaint is that the new lid switch still seems to be finicky. When I ran a load after the repair was completed, the machine didn't go on to the next cycle until I kind of shoved on the lid to engage the switch. I haven't bothered to complain to the vendor because I'm on the verge of completing a renovation which includes the installation of a brand new washing machine; and I can live with the minor inconvenience of occasionally having to shove on the lid of my old washer.

Description of Work: I had a washing machine overflow while I was out of town. I was able to schedule an appointment pretty easily. After the first service, they ordered a part which took a couple of days to arrive. The 2nd visit, the part was installed. After the technician left, I ran a load of wash and found the floor to be wet again! I called and the dispatcher at Dell was pretty short and said he'd try to get the technician back and pretty much hung up on me. I called again and a more friendly person assured the technician would return that day. He did come back and admitted while installing the part, he had crimped a hose causing the water to leak out. Finally, I thought things were all good. Then I discovered that only cold water was working to to washer. So the technician had now caused another issue in his repair. I called again and they did send the tech back the next day, and the machine has been fine since. No apology was offered but at least they did not charge additional. It could have been worse. Also, at one point the tech proclaimed he was "too old for this crap". Overall, not a professional or smooth experience.

Description of Work: Had them come and look at a washing machine issue, sadly, the cost of repair was too high and will get a new one instead. That said, we (my wife and I) felt that Dell was up front and honest and helpful with this process.

Description of Work: We had a different company came out to check our washer and told us that it cannot be fixed. We were about to throw it out and get a new washer but decide to try Dell at the last minute. Shawn was prompt in responding to our call. He came on time, promptly and correctly diagnosed the problem, and got the washer fixed at the second visit within half an hour. That saved us lot of money and time! we highly recommend Dell Appliance Service.

Description of Work: I paid $70 for them to tell me I needed a new microwave. I thought that was a bit pricey, but at least they didn't charge me a fortune to fix what I was better off replacing.

Description of Work: Called to have dishwasher installed. They were prompt in returning my email. They explained they do not do installation unless product is purchased there. I can accept that, and most importantly, they were punctual and responded, whereas, some did not have courtesy of a reply,

Description of Work: I have used this company for a few years (when I managed the washer/dryer repair for a large condo I lived in) and was recently very disappointed when I called them to repair my personal machine in my new home. I called and told them that my dryer was not drying clothes very well. It was working but the clothes took 2-3 dryer cycles to dry. They sent a technician out (with 20yrs. of experience) who I told the same thing to, who proceeded to check out my dryer and disassemble it over the course of 2hrs ($200). At the end, he mentioned it was most likely due to a blockage in the ventilation system through my walls to the outside and, because Dell doesn't handle that, recommended two companies for me to call. Sure enough, that was, indeed the problem. Then, after googling my initial drying issue and talking to several other people, I learned afterwards the 99% of the time this symptom indicates a blocked vent. I was annoyed that Dell did not mention this when I initially made the service call - and say that they could come out, but that I might want to call a vent specialist FIRST. At least give me the info. for me to make that decision. Immediately felt like I was taken advantage of, called and spoke with a manager, who looked into it and said he felt that they did "everything right". Really disagree. Am a rationale and sensible person but feel like they did not exercise what was in the best interest of the customer.
