Work was never done.

They did a fantastic job. They were prompt and efficient. They made an extra effort of making sure that they flushed all of the downspouts and they made sure it was all clear. We did not even ask them to do it. They charged us $200 on their services. We did not even actually get other prices and so we don't know if the price was okay or not. It seemed reasonable to us. We will use their services again in the future if we need to.

We're very pleased with the whole job. John was very professional - returned calls, gave us a realistic expectation of the timeline, and kept us updated when that changed due to the weather. The guys who did the work were quick and kept the site clean. This was especially important on the side of the house where a very fastidious neighbor's driveway butts up against our foundation. The process took two days due to some prep work they needed to do, and all their gear was stored neatly in the garage when they left for the day.

They handled all the old paint very well and kept the area clean. The entire outside, trim, porch and balcony were painted. It all looks great. They were very punctual and finished the job in less than 2 weeks. Communication was good and they walked me through all the repair choices and color options. They brought in a carpenter to handle some extra siding work once it was clear there was more work to be done than anticipated. It didn't slow down the overall job and they were very considerate of my family.

John Kearns is highly professional, was able to accomodate our request for a quick turnaround. and was very pleasant to work with. He and his team did an excellent job. They did good prep on the walls, did a nice painting job and left the space clean We would definitely use them again in the future.

They did an excellent job. They were very helpful with the paint and stain selections. They were always on time and finished as planned within budget. My wife has a lot of plants around the house and they did a good job of not damaging those.

I first met John years ago when he gave me an estimate on some exterior work we had to have done. I never followed through with the painting, but of all the companies/individuals I asked for estimates, John really stood out. He wasn't the cheapest, but by far the most professional. I recently called him when we decided to paint our kitchen and dining room. He gave us a good quote, gave us some great advice on what to do with our place, and spent a lot of extra time (at no charge) to get the job done right. I couldn't be happier, and I'd recommend him to anyone who wants professional work done right. They made our 90 year old horse-hair plaster walls look new again. His crew doing the job was quiet, polite, clean, and very skilled. Top notch work!

John Kerns and his whole crew are excellent at their craft; very professional, considerate and responsive. We have a few garden areas against the house and CountrySide Painting was extremely mindful of them while working on the house, and did a great job doing so. Some parts of the trim were in very rough shape, but they were able to make it all look great, including some carpentry repairs. The crew was very considerate and responsive to any concerns, even to the point of - when I noticed a spot that still needed caulking, they thanked me and asked me to be sure to point out anything else that needed another going over! They also went above and beyond the job by fixing a problem we had with flashing above our 2nd floor porch, doing it the right way, and including it as part of the price. Very responsive to any concerns or questions we had. The job was also done in a very timely manner without leaving any details or letting little things linger, which it seems like some many contractors like to do these days. Working with John and his crew was a real pleasure, we would certainly contact and hire CountrySide Painting in the future.

They did great work! The estimate was spot on, the crew was on time, and they did very careful work. They brought all their own supplies and were very accomodating of my erratic schedule. We are prepping our house to sell, so John was very sensitive to our need to get the work done quickly at a reasonable price. If we were staying in the area, he would be our go to guys for all painting and deck repair in the future.

Our compliments and praises to John Kearns and Countryside painting. His personable professionalism, competence and kindness have made all of experiences with them a positive. We have used them on three occasions, interior, exterior and decking and have referred them to many friends.

We hired John and the Countryside crew to paint the exterior of our Mansard Victorian home which hadn't been painted in about 20 years. We hired him after several friends gave Countryside glowing reccommendations and we got estimates from 2 other painters. John was by far the least expensive, most approachable, most decent and honest person. He is very easy to speak with, gives suggestions without being pushy, and goes the extra mile. He often came back to the house the next morning with new paint ideas and helped guide us through our sometimes painstaking decisions about paint colors. He even made custom colors for our trim and foundation. His crew was very polite, unobtrusive, and promptly showed up to work promptly at 7:00 (or a few minutes before even). They were a hard working group of painters who adhered to the job at hand. John was also mostly always on-site to oversee the paint job and was very good about communicating when any issues arose (including a live electrical wire that we didn't know about!). He even stayed around until NSTAR got there to fix the wire. He kept to his schedule within reason (only being slightly delayed because of rain). He always clearly communicated the schedule and was able to uphold to the schedule without us, the homeowners, feeling rushed. I really can't say enough positive things about John and the Countryside crew. The house looks absolutely beautiful now. We loved their work so much, they are coming back in the Spring to do some interior painting for us.

Overall, Countryside was a joy to deal with. John from Countryside showed up on time for the estimate. He called to arrange for the pressure washing on a day when it was too rainy to paint. He kept in touch by phone until his team was available (rainy days kept moving their schedule, which I completely understand). John had helpful suggestions (such as using sanded paint on porch steps for better traction when they were wet). Countryside finished the job quickly, while still leaving access to at least one stairway to each condo unit. After they had finished the job of repainting, I asked if they could also paint some nearby trim, and they added that onto the job for no extra charge. The workers were clean, and left no traces or footprints in my garden or lawn. Overall, it was a great experience.

They said that they were too busy and would not have time to do it. They were very nice and straightforward with me.

We were selling our condo and putting it on the market in one week. The front entry of the two-family house was in dire need of paint, including the porch, front doors, and front window frame. We called John Kearns and one other company to get an estimate and timeframe of the work we needed done. Unlike the competitor, John listened to our situation (we were selling and did not want to invest a lot of money in improvements), we wanted the doors, porch rails and floor, and a front window frame painted. We were also in a hurry since we had only one week to get the condo on the market. John gave us a very fair quote for the exact work we wanted done and made suggestions on how to make it look good for the least amount of money-- unlike the competitor's quote which was higher and who wasn't interested in listening to our exact needs. He also squeezed us into his schedule so the condo would be ready in time. When he finished the job, he had painted the front basement window frame free of charge, just because he felt the window needed it. John was a pleasure to work with, a true professional. He did an outstanding job, the house looked beautiful. We have already recommended him to friends.

The service rendered was excellent. John Kearns, the owner, is friendly, helpful, and very professional. He was punctual and fair in his analysis and pricing of the job. His workers were courteous, neat, and extremely hard working (they worked from 7AM till 6PM over 3 days). The quality of the painting is virtually flawless: every line is done meticulously. They started and finished on time. We gladly recommend this firm to anyone!

John spent time during 'free estimate' to describe what and how they do the work, answered my questions and listened to my concerns, got back to me with information, e.g. on causes of peeling. Once hired, John was good to negotiate and discuss with on materials, dates and throughout the the job, any details not thought of or needing adjustment. John responded to phone calls, and called me about weather issues or variation in a day's plans, etc. Washed house week-10 days before starting. Set up scaffolding, not just ladders, covered windows when working in that area, figured out with me where to keep materials over the 2.5 weeks, followed new health and safety regulations, had hard working nice crew. They sprayed then rolled on large areas, painted edges, window frames.) His crew did work that I hadn't thought about or been discussed, following what was already there: repainting metal railings, and varnishing 2 doors. John was respectful towards his workers, which made the dynamic around the house and work very comfortable.

The walls of the stair way and hallway had been very damaged by a previous man that called himself "contractor" but could not handle old horse hair plaster. I was desperate.. John's team fixed all the damaged walls, and did an outstanding job in a very difficult setting. I was ready for the outside of the house to be totally repainted (it had been 4 years since last layer) but John dissuaded me, saying that the house was still in a very good shape and did not need yet to be repainted. I was stunned!

The experience was excellent from start to finish. They were very quick, clean and neat. Communication was prompt. I would highly recommend them. my neighbor got some paint work done by them as well and it looks very good.

We have worked with John Kearns and his Countryside crew before, and they once again surpassed expectations -- from start to finish. His fees are completely reasonable, and, all in all, we have found Countryside to be a first-rate painting company, run with knowledge, integrity, and a sense of pride in work well done. We also love the Provencal yellow color John helped us select for accent walls!
