Great attention to detail; lovely "cutting in" with the small brush around the edges of ceilings and walls; very even paint coverage and finish; courteous and punctual; solid value for money; overall a VERY professional job indeed!

In the end he cleaned and prepped the surface and recommended a linoleum floor rather than tile. We didn't get a lot of service for the price we paid. He also had us buy the tile and have it onsite. We then had to return the tile. Of course it would have been nice if he'd said that we wouldn't want tile in that space back in February when he first looked it over. For all I know he may be great at tiling, but I really don't know. If your floor is in any way not level...find another provider.
Description of Work: After an initial review of our bathroom in February the provider agreed to tile our basement bathroom. The job was delayed until July by mutual agreement. On the day he came to do the tiling job he first prepped the surface by removing the old flooring and much of the old leveling component already there, then he declared that we would not be happy with the end product because our floor was not level and would not work out well for ceramic tiles. He did offer to complete the job, but predicted that it would not come out well if we did. He recommended a local flooring company as an alternative and suggested that we use linoleum rather than tile in the bathroom.

Steve was fantastic to work with. He showed up promptly in the mornings and got right down to business. He was at my home for 4 days performing the scope of work above. He contacted me during the day for any clarifications needed on the job and has a great attention to detail. The work looks fabulous and I will certainly be using him again in the future.
Description of Work: Performed Demolition of existing bathroom tile, toilet and vanity. Purchase of additional materials not on site. Installed new 12x24 tile floor, replaced toilet and installed new baseboard around perimeter.

Steve was very easy to work with. He had told us he could do the work mid february. I was pregnant and due early March so it was cutting it close but I wanted him to do the work so I agreed. One of steves other jobs got delayed (not becasue of Steve) so he called and said he could come start earlier! I was very happy he started earlier so I wasnt as stressed, seeing baby came early too! Love our new closets. He also painted our small bathroom and it came out great.
Description of Work: Steve made two small traditional closets in to larger closets.

I decided to go with them because of the Angie’s List reviews. They are pretty good. They do what they tell you they are going to do and they charge you what they tell you they are going to charge. They are responsible. They are very good. I would hire them quickly. I think the price was good.

This painter was a very nice, punctual man who answered my messages right away and honored his coupon with Angie's list. He "finished" only the trim (including wainscoting) in this 14 X 15 foot room after four days of work, and according to my cleaning lady, he worked continuously and energetically. He never got to the walls. I wrote "finished" in quotes because, although he did cover my dining room trim with paint, I had to have the entire thing repainted as soon as I could secure another painter because of poor judgement and workmanship on this painter's part. He initially pointed out to me that there was paintable wallpaper on the wainscote which was pulling away from the wall in some areas. He said that it could be handled in one of two ways: 1. strip off all the paper and skim coat or sand the entire area, or 2. re-paste the paper in the spots that no longer adhered and spackle and sand where necessary. I chose the second option, but when the job was done, I realized that the paintable wall paper had not been cut off properly where it met the chair rail. It was too long, resulting in a ruffled and ragged line under all the moldings. I don't know if the paper stretched up a bit when he pasted it. In any event, he should have trimmed off these ruffled edges. Instead, he just painted over them, and they were now accentuated by globs of paint that settled in their ruffles. It looked terrible. Certain other areas weren't completely covered, but I think that was unavoidable unless he spent extra days putting on more coats of paint. I ended up ripping off all the newly painted wall paper myself and hiring another professional. I basically threw away $500, and that is why I rated the price of the job poorly. But I do believe that he worked hard and had intended to do a quality job. I should have been watching more closely, but I was at work and the area was sealed off. He also cleaned up the work area very well before he left.

The jobs consisted of replacing my bathroom floor, including a new subfloor, installing a new vanity and baseboards, tiling my kitchen backsplash, installing laundry room cabinets, and he also tweaked a few doors that had been improperly installed after a paint job by a different contractor. I should add that Steve used the extra kickplate and molding to add a custom finish to bottom of the vanity, making it look very high-end. He stayed on budget and finished a day earlier than originally planned. Steve is the "honey" in Honey-do List (without the aggravation!) and I am already compiling a list for his next visit. I highly recommend Do It All Construction and will definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Steve returned my 1st call within 24 hours and came by a couple of days later to look at my work. He started the job less than two weeks later, arriving 1st thing in the morning and working straight through till late afternoon. Steve was friendly, knowledgeable, clean, and Patient (capital P). He asked questions and confirmed as he worked so that everything was completed to my exact specifications.

Steve has been very helpful since the purchase of the Big Deal coupon. When he came to look at my space and discuss the work, we decided together that the coupon was not beneficial to me. Steve was responsive to my phone call to set-up a meeting time. He was prompt for our appointment, and honest in his assessment of what I need done. While I am not yet sure if I will contract with him for the service and work, I appreciate and applaud his conduct and approach to working with me.

The work was completed ahead of schedule as Steve's schedule changed, he was able to fit the job in sooner. Even with delays on my tile order, the job was completed ahead of schedule. The cost was exactly as discussed. I appreciate the detail he paid to the work that needed to be done and the discussions about options before the work began. I will consider Steve for future projects.

We bought this as a $99 one room. Consumers should be aware that this means one coat, walls only, which is a great deal. If you need more done (we did) it costs more. For instance, we needed to have the walls basically prepped and cleaned and the ceiling repainted. Wwe had the woodwork done with two coats of gloss, and the walls needed two coats of flat. We added a piece of furniture that we needed to have done. In the end it was $700 for all of the work, which I think was a little high. But the painter was excellent. He did a beautiful job on a room that has lots of corners and angles, and which had not been painted in at least 10 years. He moved the furniture and left the place clean and the furniture replaced. I would rehire him to paint any room. He promised to give us an estimate for exterior painting, but I guess that will wait until spring. g

Extremely well. I was very impressed that the closet door jamb that needed replacing came out so perfectly that I couldn't tell it was not the original. The original molding was saved, and Steve painted both closet doors. They look great and close better than they ever did. The new bi-fold door had to be cut down and it fits nicely. I am not too happy with the color of the stain on this door but that was a bad aesthetic decision on my part. The mahogany desk top is outstandingly beautiful!!! The planks of mahogany are held together underneath with a butterfly shape, so they will not come apart with normal expansion and contracting of the wood over time. The top is finished with a bee's wax finish that brings out all the beauty of the wood. It is very elegant. The custom cabinet was made to our specifications and designed to match the other furniture in the room. It is a complex piece with a cubbyhole, drawers, shelf, and edging on the top. The drawers are dovetailed; no hardware is visible at all; the routing and the edges of the piece are aesthetically pleasing and very professional; and the whole piece has the beautiful "butter finish" that Steve uses that brings out the beauty of the wood. Steve did a very professional job on all our projects, and he is a real artist when it comes to working with wood.
Description of Work: Repaired two closet doors, including one that had to have side jamb rebuilt and replaced; stained and installed a new bi-fold door on a third closet; built a mahogany desk top. Steve had previously made us a custom built oak cabinet.

I had purchased the $299 "contractor for a day" package. It was for 8 hours and I had lots of little things that needed to be done so it was a good deal for me. My big item was that under my kitchen sink the bottom shelf was particle board and over the years various small leaks, moisture etc had deterioated the particle board wood. I wanted it all torn out and rebuilt with stronger "wood" that I could remove if needed. He build me a new shelf that exceeded my thoughts. He also did various other stuff around the house.. like hang a new bi-fold door on a closet, fix a drawer, and some moulding around a window. He was 100% professional .. really nice guy also. He finished in about 6 hours and I had nothing else left for him to do, so even though I paid for 8 hours, I let him go early.

Steve covered everything in the room with plastic sheets. The work involved painting many edges where the ceiling met the wooden beams. All were perfectly done. Cleanup was complete and exceeded our expectations. The job was completed in a day and a half. The total cost was $650 plus $138 for paint. Steve was punctual and always professional.

Steve did an excellent job - he is a craftsman in every respect and genuinely cares about his work. From Day 1, he plowed into the job and made sure to check with us periodically throughout the process to ask questions and make sure we were satisfied with the results. When it came to re-tiling the floor, he showed us his original plan and after some discussion, we asked him to revise it which required him to reposition all of the tiles (not an easy task given the age of our home) - he did this without hesitation or complaint and this is just one example of his attention to detail and his focus on making sure we were satisfied with the results. I felt the price was very reasonable for the work involved and there was minimal interruption to our daily routine during the renovation process. Steve was careful to clean up every day after his work and other than the protective tarp he used, his being there was virtually transparent. Bottom-line, we were very satisfied with the results and I would unhesitatingly recommend him for your repair or renovation project.
Description of Work: The project involved specific renovations to our master bathroom including: removal of old toilet and vanity; removal of tile floor; repair and reinforcement of sub-flooring; re-tiling of floor; installation of new vanity.

It was fine, he is probably way overqualified for the type of painting he was doing and was still a little bit of a slap dash, and he's a very skilled painter. I think he probably does a lot of fine finish work. He kept telling me that I would have to pay extra, I had to pay a lot more for prepping and everything else even though he painted one small room and the prep consisted of about 15 minutes of standing and smoothing so I ended up paying at least $100 or maybe more than the original deal. We talked on the phone and he had told me all that stuff was included so basic prepping I would think should be included and he did not do any trim work, he did not do the ceiling, he just did 4 walls. There were a few cracks, there was some surface peeling at one area from old water damage but I would say the prepping took him almost 15 or 20 minutes but I just didn't want to get it to him, I paid him and that was that. He did want to come back and do more work and I just didn't do that.

Steve was professional in his dealings with us - providing an accurate assessment of the work he could perform in the given time (we'd purchased 8 hours of painting work thru an AL special), responding quickly via email and phone, and arriving on time the morning of the work. Based on emailed feedback from Steve, we purchased the paint and prepped the room (including spackling the walls so he could sand them immediately - a great way to save him time and us money); Steve brought the drop cloths, brushes, and rollers - we paid for them the day of the work. My husband and I had never hired a painter before and weren't sure what to expect. All in all, I think Steve did a nice job - very neat and thorough. He was also quiet as he worked - even the radio he brought was set at a low volume. The room looked great, and he cleaned up at the end of the day. We'd definitely hire him again.

Steve initially provided us with an estimate and established a date for providing the service. He kept to both the price and the timeline. He worked diligently; managed materials beautifully, and did a great job. Steve's work has garnered us lots of compliments! He changed the look of our home. We'd called him back because he'd done some interior painting, and we were impressed by his work ethic, price, and responsiveness. He's a real pro -- and we now have him on speed dial.
