+ -1 moreIt went very well. It was a simple solution which Brian found quickly. My tenant had turned the circuit breakers off instead of on. Brian is very professional and pleasant. The job ahead of mine finished sooner than expected so he called me to see if it was ok to come early. I certainly would recommend him to everyone and I will certainly call him again.

+ -1 moreFYI, we compared this quote from Brian to quotes we received (along with our information about material costs we researched on line) and at minimal his costs estimate for materials was way off. While we did not receive a specific or clear breakdown of his scope and costs-- he indubitably appeared to have inflated his costs for labor, time and materials while limiting the scope of the job as well. Getting a quote from this provider was noteworthy in how off it was and so we wanted to post this experience on Angies' list given we used this list for the referral.
Description of Work: The provider offered a bid without breaking down materials and labor while his costs for a one day job (he claimed it could be two) was extreme-- as you can see. He quoted 16K for a temporary electrical installation for a new house (typically less than a days work-- we had this done before) while using underground wiring (permanent) in conduits to the foundation with a temporary set up on a post. (this did not include the excavations-- which we said we would provide) We had other bids and Brian's bid included less work (scope was much less in materials and work-- others include the temporary and permanent install in basement with panels ) and his costs were 3x as much as others bids we received. We asked him for a costs breakdown and explanation and he claimed his materials cost was about 6K-- which also did not make sense-- we believe it was more like 1K to 2K at most. We asked him a second time for a clear breakdown of his cost for materials and labor and in response he withdrew his bid. This

+ -1 morehe never worked for us...totally disappointed in him! what does it take to return a phone call? if he didn't want the job, he should have stated so. We were under the gun to find another electrician to do the job!
Description of Work: although he came out to the house and got the details, he never responded back to us! We called him and he said he would get back to us on Monday and for two weeks we didn't hear a thing! will not do business with someone i have to repeatedly call and then get no answer!

Description of Work: When I took down some bushes I discovered that the electrical connection to my house was frayed an not connected properly. Brian Faria came out and explained that I needed a new electric line to the house and that the Electric company had to readjust the line coming from the street. He coordinated everything with the utility company. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I appreciated that he and the electric company showed up at the same time to coordinate the work. He did an outstanding job.

Four hours later all the work was done, and I am a happy customer. Everything looks great, was done fast, and professional. I could not ask for a better experience.

+ -1 moreHe cleaned the corrosion at the connection point in the wiring in my fuse box. He didn't have to do it for all the wiring in the house, but he did so that I would not have a future problem with other lights and receptacles. I had another situation in the house where I was blowing fuses at times when I used the microwave. He gave me suggestions on how I could remedy the problem and suggested the least expensive alternative. He will be working on this the next time he comes.
Description of Work: I had a problem with lights and receptacles that didn't work in the basement. At first both Brian and I thought it might be a need to replace a ballast. But as Brian looked at it, something didn't make sense, so he decided to investigate further and found that the problem was actually corrosion of the neutral wires. He removed the plate holding all the wires, cleaned them all thoroughly, and replaced them. Upon doing that, my lights and receptacles now work. He also showed me why the plate had become corroded over time and he will be repairing that on his next visit to replace my fuse box with circuit breakers (a separate project that I had wanted done).

Provided a few dates, which didn't work because he was involved with other jobs, messaged a few times attempting to find a mutually convenient date. I waited a bit then contacted him again. There was a delay in his response, then he messaged apologizing saying he was away. I responded and provided my home and cell number to expedite the process but my last communication to him in June went unanswered. Exhaust fan purchased and sititng in the trunk of my car. I'm sure it's because he is very busy, but a was disappointed, especially as Mr. Faria had positive reviews. 2 other electricians I contacted didn't respond to me at all. So far striking out with Angie's list.

+ -1 moreMy wife and I were very pleased, he first came to the house at the appointed time and gave us a estimate of the work. We arranged for him to come back the following week to perform the work. We found him very professional and prompt, his work was very neat and we plan on hiring him again to do some more in the future.
Description of Work: I had chosen Brian after reading the reviews on Angie's List. We wanted Brian to upgrade our outlets to one's with a ground and to install a gfi outlet in the bathroom and kitchen. He had explained that if our rooms were on the same circuit and he could locate the outlet at the beginning of the circuit he could use gfi outlets to bring them up to code and save on having to run wire and save us money. So that is what he did as well as change the outlets and covers because most of ours were old and had coats of paint. He also wired a fan in the bathroom and installed new exterior lights.

I was looking for help to re-install a few lighting fixtures, including a ceiling fan, along with some electrical switchplates, which I was looking to replace. The lighting fixtures had been removed earlier for plastering and painting work. Brian arrived on time. He was professional and friendly. He also brought along a helper, even though the work could've been handled quite easily by himself. In any case, both went to work immediately. Even though it was a very hot and humid day, they didn't;t waste a minute while working. Both were neat, and didn't break anything, as service providers can sometimes do. His price of $100.00 was actually what he had quoted when I scheduled the appointment-nothing more, nothing less Overall, using Brian was a positive experience. All work was satisfactorily performed. I would undoubtedly call on him again for help with any future electrical needs or problems.
