Great! The team came when they said they would and did what they said they would. From design to completion of tiling I could not have asked for a better experience. The custom glass door is not installed yet as measurements could not be taken until tiling was complete. It takes two weeks for the door to be customized and then installed. I will update my review at that time.

The lesson learned here for us is to always do your homework. We hired Cassa to cut and install granite countertops in our kitchen as well as install new porcelain tile for the floor and backsplash. The initial experience with the designer/project manager was pretty good. She helped us choose colors and styles that matched our needs. The project started on time as scheduled. The countertops were installed and looked good and the floor was installed and looked very nice. The big problems came up when we tried to put the appliances back in. Apparently the team working on our kitchen didn't bother measuring the height of the floor to the countertop (which we have now learned is typically 36 inches) and didn't know anything about standard heights for appliances such as stoves, even though they are supposed to be professional kitchen renovators. The result was a countertop that was about a full inch lower than it should have been. Our slide-in range was too high for the countertops at it's minimum height of 35 7/8 inches. This means that it would not sit flush with the counters as it's designed to do. The team also tiled under the dishwasher even though we had told them on several occasions that we didn't want them to because we feared that the dishwasher wouldn't fit. Luckily my wife was watching as the installer started placing tiles where the dishwasher would go. She stopped him just in time for him to remove the tiles, but he left the mortar which eventually dried leaving a bumpy mess where the dishwasher would go. Now my dishwasher doesn't fit either. It's important to note that as part of talking with the designer up front, we were instructed to buy our appliances beforehand so that when the measurements were done, ALL OF THE APPLIANCES WOULD STILL FIT. We got in touch with the designer and project manager to tell them what happened and at first they basically told us "not our problem". Eventually they sent someone out (their "clean-up guy") who immediately realized that the floor-to-countertop height was wrong. Short of tearing up the newly installed countertops, there weren't many options. I was sick to my stomach that I had paid over 10K for work of such low quality and Cassa didn't have the sense of urgency that I would have expected for such a colossal screw-up. They also did the backsplash tiling incorrectly making it impossible to put any of the kitchen outlet covers back on. The door to my basement no longer fit. To make this mess go away,we ended up compromising just to get the darn thing finished and move on with our lives. In the end, they did resolve the list of issues that we gave them. The countertop being installed at a non-standard height is a real bummer, though. They added granite trim pieces around the stove so that the slide-in could be flush. Those trim pieces will be a constant reminder that we hired the wrong company to renovate our kitchen. We had to call them back several times to fix areas where grout was missed. I would never suggest Cassa to anyone doing a sizable project. There's little to no communication between team members and they charge way too much for the poor quality craftsmanship that we received. Very disappointed.

Everything went according to plan and the results are great. The designer helped me stay within a modest budget, but make good choices to suit both personal desires and resale value. She was very available to me and never made me feel like I was taking up her time for such a small project. I love the stone shelves in my shower niche. I'm glad that I didn't look at the ratings before I chose to go with Cassa, or I might have made a different choice and not had a good experience. For quartz cut and install, I am very happy with the result.
Description of Work: Tagged a quartz remnant from the lot. Cassa template, cut, and installed a countertop with under mount sinks and backsplash and also shelves for my shower niche and threshold.

I trusted my contractor and went to Cassa Stone/design center for our bathroom remodeling project on his recommendation. We should have done our homework first. We picked up the tiles on Saturday evening but we changed our mind and wanted to chose different ones. We called and canceled the order Monday AM only to be told that the tiles were already ordered from the vendor, loaded on the truck and in route for delivery from PA and we would be charged 25% restocking fee for canceling the order-a fee incurred by Cassa from the vendor. We found this not totally plausible that tiles can be ordered and on the truck for delivery within one working day. We asked for receipt of the restocking fee charged by the vendor to Cassa to back up their claim but they refused to provide one. We took the penalty (25% restocking fee) and decided we would rather take the loss than dealing with this business.

Initially it appeared we had made a positive decision in having Cassa renovate our kitchen and reface our fireplace. We were assured that David would be involved from beginning to end. I guess he did if it meant collecting the deposit and final payment. The work was poor at best. We were asked to provide a punch list on many occasions, and unfortunately the list was the same time and time again. In less than a year the stone was falling off the fireplace. We notified Cassa and David came out and said it would be corrected within the next couple weeks. After 3 weeks I called and asked for David to call back so we could make arrangements for the repairs. He did not call back. 1 week later I again called to see if we could get going with at least setting a date, and was told that David would call back. He never bothered. We finally hired a different company to come and do the repairs. They came out to inspect what would be necessary to correct the problem. When the gentleman came out, he was totally amazed that Cassa failed to take the sheetrock off the wall and install durarock. In order to do the job correctly they would have to remove the stonework done by Cassa, and remove the Sheetrock, install the durarock, and install the stone which needed to be replaced as the original was useless. After the job was completed, the house and yard cleaned up, and our approval did we have to pay. We were pleasantly surprised when we were quoted less than what Cassa had quoted for the original stonework only. We were also informed that the mantle had not been properly installed. It is sad when the owner of a business (David) enters in a room which has been remodeled by his own technicians, and state that his own wife would not accept the work performed, yet it was expected that we should accept it. Unfortunately we can only give Cassa an F at best. I trust and hope that people really think twice before signing any contract with them. I wish we could have given a great recommendation for their work, but we would only be lying if we were to give anything higher than we have.
