No response after 12 days. Why even be on Angies List?

Tom stopped by as scheduled and checked the work that I was interested in, namely boiler replacement, leaky radiator valve with corroded pipe and capping off an old gas pipe. He was very helpful and polite. He pointed out that the boiler could last several more years but that the 7yr old water heater could go soon (which it did a couple of weeks ago). I appreciated his honest assessment of the boiler. Also he said the pipe to the radiator should be ok for the time being and the leaky radiator valve was likely due to being loose so he got his tools and tightened up the valve AND he also capped off the old gas pipe for NO charge. He promptly sent an itemized estimate for the boiler and water heater replacement and replacing the corroded pipe to the radiator should I decide to go ahead with that work. I would highly recommend Tom for any of your plumbing needs.

The work too much longer than expected, so the bill was larger than estimated, but still worth it. I will use this company the next time I need plumbing work.

I called Tom Knox Monday (7/21/14) due to a leak of unknown origin in my basement, also a mold spot that was starting in a closet that was damp, in addition I had a toilet that kept getting clogged. Tom told me that the earliest he could get there was Wed (7/23/2014) at 7:30AM. That was fine as it was urgent however, not an emergency. Sure enough Wednesday 7:30 AM his guys were here. I showed them what was going on and Al (one of Knox's plumbers) said he thought he knew what was going on and that it was most likely one leak that was located at the mold spot in the closet. He took out a small piece of sheet rock and confirmed his suspicion that the people who had sheet rocked the closet shot some screws and nails right into the waste line and not only made holes, they cracked the pipe and that was causing the leak. He took out the damaged pipe, replaced it with a new piece of pipe and cleaned up the area. He even removed the old material and took it with him. Also when he snaked the toilet that was backed up, he found that the prior owner had somehow gotten a tooth brush stuck in there. How that happened I'll never know however, he found it, took it out and now the toilet runs fine. All in all this was a good experience with his guys and with Tom. They were prompt, on time, and were cheerful and knowledgeable. They got the job done expeditiously and left the site as clean as possible. I'll use them again without hesitation.

We called on weekend and left a message. He called back on Monday when we weren't home. We called back and left a message with ways to reach us during the day, and times we'd be home for him to provide service. He didn't call back. We called again the following week and never heard back.

This was a fairly small job, but they came promptly, were very pleasant and professional, and fixed everything in one day. We had a dripping shower head in one bath, and in the other, the hot water balance was off- we couldn't get a hot enough shower. We have Kohler fixtures, and he had parts on his truck, so it all went very smoothly. A year later, everything still works- no leaks! Would definitely call them again.

Nothing happened. No callback, so no job done. Finally hired another provider to perform the installation.

I left a message for this provider who was recommended by another highly rated Angies list member to deal with a leak emanating from the brick wall of my house whenever the adjacent outside faucet was turned on. I got a return call within 24 hours and an appointment was scheduled within a few days. This was not an emergency but I was very impressed at how quickly the service was scheduled. Upon examining the problem, Tom explained that, even though it was a "frost-free" faucet, the pipe had split between the internal shutoff and the outside wall b/c a hose had been left attached to the faucet, allowing ice to form in the pipe, He showd me the split pipe. He replaced the sillcock and recommended placing a manual shutoff on the pipe inside the house. This required him to pull a toilet and cut into the drywall. This was done very neatly and with a minimal opening. I could not have been more pleased with the entire experience.

He did a great job. was on time, finshed when he said, install looked great. Absolutely no complaints.

He was gone about 30 minutes, picked up the new toilet. Came back and installed it. Cleaned the bathroom floor. Took the old toilet - Now I'm good to go!

The plumber arrived on time. He had a professional demeanor. I had already removed the old dishwasher and acquired a cable for the power supply. The plumber promptly installed the new dishwasher and it looked well done. Only the dishwasher didn't work. It would turn on but it wouldn't get any water inside. Since I had a contract for service I had someone come out the next day. They pulled the kick plate off and had it working in less than a minute. A tag or label from the electrical junction box was interfering with the water inlet control. The dishwasher now works as expected.

We place our call to Tom Knox and left a message. Approximately 10 minutes later he returned the call. One week after the call he was here to do the work. He was very thorough going through the house to check all possibilities of what could be causing the problem. Once he checked the pressure of the water coming into the house he knew that he had to install the relief valve. He was here for approximately 2 hours.

Tom was pleasant to speak with on the phone and in person. He was able to schedule us in on relatively short notice and gave an accurate estimate of the job's cost. While Tom was at our house, we remembered that we needed new programmable thermostats installed as well. He happily took on the extra task and did a fine job. We are very satisfied with our first experience with Knox Plumbing.

The serviceman arrived promptly and resolved the issues quickly. He had all the parts he required with him and explained how to avoid causing problems when trying to deal with issues like this in the future as a homeowner.

He came out to install the garbage disposal, and showed several models in different price ranges which he had ready to install, depending on which one I chose. After choosing, he immediately installed it and worked together with the electrician. He was very friendly, courteous and professional. After finishing the garbage disposal - the job I paid for - I mentioned a leak in the bathroom and he spent quite some time with this leak - which he didn't charge me for. I was very pleased all around and would highly recommend them. They will be the first I will call in the future for any plumbing needs.

Although I, in the end, did not have a need for services, Knox Plumbing was top notch. I was told by a tenant that they heard water running and thought it might be a broken pipe in the crawlspace. I phoned Knox Plumbing for an emergency visit and my message was returned promptly. In the end it turned out it was just a running toilet and service was not needed but I will certainly keep the number of Knox Plumbing handy for service in the future. Very professional on the phone and prompt with the response!

I am very pleased with Knox plumbing. I called on a Tuesday. I left a message and about 2 minutes later Tom called back. He was very professional, nice and knowledgeable. He scheduled the appointment with us for Friday as we were in a rush to get the meter installed. Tom showed up on time Friday and had the job completed within two hours. The work performed was excellent. The meter was installed perfectly and the plumbing was clean and neat. After he was done, it looked like the meter and extra plumbing were always part of the house. Tom also used top quality piping and fittings. We had the town come to inspect the work (as required by the town). The inspector even commented on the quality of the work saying this is one of the best installations of the water only meter he had seen. I am very pleased with the entire process and would reccomend Knox plumbing to anyone looking for plumbing work. We plan to use Knox again within the next few months as we are having an addtion added to our house and will need to have plumbing done for a new laundry room and bathroom.

Tom Knox and an individual who works with him have both been to the house to perform services. They are outstanding at their jobs. Tom returns calls quickly and they respond to problems immediately. Each time we have used them, they have been quite responsive to my telephone calls and have been able to address the issue with immediacy.

I had a slow leak in my basement bathroom at the toilet intake line. I called my usual plumber, but he was too bust to come by. I called Knox -- right before Christmas late on a Tuesday afternoon He called me that evening and made appointment to come by around noon. I thought it was only going to be an estimate as I had to leave around two to work the evening shift at the hospital. He arrived promptly, gave me an estimate and offered to do the work right then and there, promising to be done on time. Turns out the plumbing was badly corroded, probably the orignial pipes in a sixty year-old house. He replaced the old pipes and also did some other toilet repairs I requested, once again finding crumbling pipes. The cost came in double the estimate which was fine with me considering the work he did. The job definitely prevented a flooded basement and was done in plenty of time for me to get to work on time. I will definitely use them again.

This company provided prompt, friendly service and I highly recommend them. My call was answered before business hours and our service was scheduled for the next morning. They arrived on time and in less than an hour had a leak fixed in our upstairs tub plumbing which was dripping through to the ceiling below it. I was really happy they could come out so soon. They provided much better service than other plumbers I called. Pricing was reasonable and they were very efficient with the time they billed. Thanks for the friendly, reliable service. We will call this company again if we ever need plumbing service.
