Description of Work: We contacted this company to get an estimate of what it would cost to remodel our house. Mr. Cooper spent a lot of time assessing the damages done to our house due to water damage. He was very, dependable, thourough, comunicative and appeared to know his work very well - from carpentry to plumbing to electricity. He called in specialists to help determine what the estimate would be. We wound up selling the house as it was. However, I highly recommend Don Cooper as a contractor to do any building or rebuilding.

Description of Work: He took out and replaced two sets of windows in my work shop, and also repaired a big rotten hole in my bathroom floor and placed nice looking tile down. He also replaced rotten boards on the outside of my work shop.

Description of Work: Initially Don repaired drywall in a large studio with a cathedral ceiling, removed the popcorn coating, skim coated the ceiling, and painted the walls, beams and ceiling. Then, he was the contractor for rerouting the plumbing of the bathroom and kitchen to make the house more winterized. (It was originally a three season cabin.) As part of this work, he installed ceramic tile as a bathtub/shower surround, and repaired walls and ceilings which had to be opened to move plumbing, as well as rebuilding a closet. Electrical and plumbing contractors were hired and supervised for their parts of the job. Extensive insulating in the crawlspace under the house was done to improve energy efficiency. Then Don began a complete kitchen remodel, gutting the kitchen to the studs, insulating and sealing the walls to improve energy efficiency, and replacing the drywall, including painting. Refrigerator was sunk into a wall, and a new stove was installed. All new custom cabinets were built on site, of cherry wood and birch plywood. Formica counter top was installed. Glass door fronts for some cabinets were etched by hand. Shelving and woodwork for windows, doors and baseboards was shaped and installed of birch. Wood floor was refinished and all cabinets and woodwork were finished. Tile backsplash and mirror over sink were installed. Pass through to next room was enlarged, with repair of wall in next room and woodwork rebuilt around pass through window. Additional repair work in the house will be started soon.
