For a start, contact with Barrett Tree Service was very easy. Nellie (in the office) was very responsive and easy to deal with. A pleasure. Setting up an appointment to review the job, and then schedule the work was painless (which is really saying something since so many contractors don't return phone calls, come to the site then never give a bid, etc). This was not the case with Barrett. They were delightful to work with and had great follow through. Winthrop Barrett and his team did a beautiful job on our property. It is 50and quot; wide, with White Pine and Hemlock trees that were planted 50 years ago and have never been trimmed. We also have a White Oak and a Red Maple that had large dead branches over our power line, a number of birch trees that had been capped by the power company along the front of the property, and a birch tree drooping over our neighbor's house. It took more than two full days for Barrett Tree Service to raise the branches of the multiple trees over the house, cull out the dead branches, remove weed trees that had become large trees, remove the birch trees, and clean up the larger dead branches over the power line. The work was done at the end of February, so there was a fair amount of snow on the property. Barrett came in advance of the service and plowed and shoveled the area where the work was to be done, so no time was wasted when the tree work was being done. I was there on the first day and was really impressed by how they handled the branches that were being cut. Nothing fell on my neighbors' properties, and nothing was dropped on our property that would cause divots on the ground. Very professional. The work done was really beautiful, the trees look fantastic, and we are really happy with the work. It is not cheap, but I believe it is well worth the money. I would highly recommend Winthrop and his team.

Removal of both huge trees was tantamount to surgical. The huge Maple had to be cut in segments and lifted over delicate hemlock tree hedge, which involved Barrett's hanging from a crane with a chainsaw among other delicate and dangerous feats. The segmented removal of the pine required another crane manipulation, this time with a man in a bucket moving himself around high in the sky to drop segments of the cracked pine. The crew arrived early and quietly. set about their agreed upon tasks with military efficiency, and when they were done, left no trace of ever having been here, accept for the absence of the sick and anxious-making giant trees. A uniformly positive experience! (How often can we say that these days?)

Barrett Tree Service recently removed a willow tree from our property that was 90” in circumference and well over 80 feet tall. From our initial telephone contact through the time they drove out of our yard, we could not have been more satisfied. This company exemplifies the meaning of true professionals with top notch equipment and operators, and a crew of employees that are impressive to watch. They work quickly, efficiently and truly go above and beyond to mitigate any impact to the lawn. The work site looked better when they left than it did before they arrived - great job!!

We received a prompt reply to our initial inquiry. Actually had the estimate done on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Tree was cut down to ground level and all debris was cleaned up.

I was very impressed with and highly recommend Barrett Tree Service. They provided a detailed written and very competitive estimate. We were able to schedule the work with no delay. The day of the job, they came on time, the team was friendly, very efficient and got the work done quickly. The clean-up was amazing; there is nothing left but a few small twigs and saw dust.

Presented initially professionally and neatly dressed with calvin klein frames.....Walked the property, making measurments.....returned estimated costs within several days.....less than 2 weeks later started the job working several full days with completion....offered to personally walk the property and review work.....Everything had been completed .......This is the 2nd tree work done by Winthrop Barrett again with total satisfaction.....

Barrett's Tree Service offered a detailed proposal containing a price breakdown of each element of their estimate. Followed-up on our interest in their doing the work. Arrived on time. Worked in inclement, snowy weather. Had well equipped and sufficient workers. Had motorized equipment that allowed them to work on our tallest trees.Took the cut branches away. Finished the job on time. Presented a bill for payment at the conclusion of the work for the exact amount of their proposal.

Arrived at site at time appointed and worked without interruption until job was complete. Mr and his crew are efficient and thorough in their work. They are polite and focus on their task. Clean up, when the conditions are not wet and muddy is exceptional. Mr. Barrett has worked for us a total of three times, once during an emergency when a 90 foot white pine leader fell across the garage/carriage house building. He does outstanding work and is very fair in his pricing. He will be asked to work for us again!

They were very wonderful to deal with. Honest people, best price, thorough, professional, and courteous. They were very neat and cleaned up well. I could not even tell they took down the tree. They also put down tracks for their trucks so it would not ruin my front lawn. They worked hard and got the job done in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them to other single women and the elderly, or anyone else looking for tree work.

When they left, you would never have known that heavy equipment had been on my property. Their work was done quickly and cleanly and very much to my satisfaction.

Excellent experience. After being overcharged on another tree project by another company who did inferior work that took too long and was done with equipment that kept breaking down, we turned to Barrett. On time, professional, knowledgeable, good crew, nice equipment, fair price, and they cleaned up beautifully. We will use Barrett for all our tree service needs.

It went very well. The crew was on time and got right to work. It was a bit of a tricky job but they handled it without a hitch! When the job was done all the wood was removed and the clean-up was done perfectly. I was originally told that the job would be done in half a day and that is exactly how long it took. The crew was very professional and friendly. I would use them again without question! The price for the job was by far the best of all the bids given.

They did an excellent job! They were in and out within 2 days. I couldn't have been more happy with their work. The owner of the company was really responsive and knowledgeable. He knew a lot about trees. He was able to tell me what did and didn't need to be done to contain my cost. I was really appreciative of that. I am definitely going to use them again.

I contacted Barrett Tree Service after unsuccessfully trying two other local tree services. I received a call back from Winthrop Barrett the same night I left message, a good start. Winthrop scheduled an estimate appointment for the next week. He was on time and gave me an estimate right away. Getting even better. On the scheduled day, Winthrop and the crew showed up on time. They proceeded to do a very good job being careful not to damage the lawn and cleaning up. Overall they were responsive and professional, all at a fair cost. Don't waste your time with any other tree services, go right to Barrett.

Winthrop (Barrett Tree Service,Inc's Certified Arborist) arrived at the jobsite to bid the work promptly at the agreed upon time. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in discussing what I needed done, and got right down to the business of pricing the job. His crew returned to do the tree job on the agreed upon date and at the time we had arranged. It was a pleasure to see them arrive in their clean, neat looking trucks and uniforms. The crew were friendly and courteous and got right to the job at hand. In a matter of an hour the tangled mess and leaning trees had dissapeared and in their place was the 15 ft wide 30ft high clearing that was required by the utility company. When the tree crew left, my property looked better then when they had arrived and I was never embarrassed to have them or their trucks in my neighborhood. Later in the building project I was in need of a crane to lift the roof trusses onto the framing of the house, and knowing that this was a service Barrett Tree Service provides, I was happy to call them again to work for me. Their crane operator arrived on time and set up his truck with care and consideration for the building site, the work to be done and the safety of those he'd be working with. His obvious knowledge of the building process made the job go with ease, and again the clean, well cared for equipment and operator were a pleasure to see.
