A conference call was held between my credit card provider, a Verizon Wireless account rep and myself, during which my credit card provided verified that my credit card account was, in fact, in good standing, was not a fraudulent account, and that the most recent payment that I made to Verizon Wireless with my credit card was, in fact, a valid transaction. Verizon Wireless then admitted that they had made an error. However, despite the fact that this issue was cleared and resolved, Verizon Wireless then changed their story and said that they could not reinstate my cell serviced until I could prove to them that the cell phone that I was using, which I had purchased directly from Verizon Wireless, was not a stolen phone. The local Verizon Wireless store was unable (so they claim) to intervene and resolve this issue.
Description of Work: Verizon Wireless marked my account as being paid with a fraudulent credit card and shut down my cell service without first consulting with my credit card provider or providing me with advance notification of their suspicions.

I had Verizon Wireless for years. I would never recommend them. I just moved from them and I won't ever use them again. They stopped sending me bills since January and all they have done since January is harass me over the phone, wanting my bank account numbers or a credit card number that they can instantly charge things to, but I told them they had to send me a bill. They said they have sent me bills, but they haven't. I told them I would pay them if I can see something written, but they have refused to do that.
Description of Work: They were my cellular phone service.

We get good quality service from them, and everything works. We don't have dropped calls, we have good coverage, our text messages go through, and it seems to be a reliable service. We don't use cable, and the only reason it is in there, is because they tell us it would be higher cost to have internet and phones alone as stand alone. The internet is generally reliable, but there are times when it is slow although it is wired in the house. I think they throw in extra stuff, and so you have to be vigilante.
Description of Work: We use Verizon for cell phone. We have a bundle service, it is bundled with internet, cable, and also a number of telephones under the same contract for the family.

They installed the service on time, and I used them for internet for about 6 months. During this time, my internet was very slow and if I wanted to stream a TV show, I had to disconnect every other device from the internet to keep it from being and quot;jumpyand quot;. I was on a budget and Verizon was the cheapest internet provider for my location in Woburn MA but when I had had enough and decided to pay more to upgrade, they explained that I was already receiving the fastest DSL service for my address. Verizon had faster services, but none of them were available for my location. To their credit, their customer service representatives were always helpful over the phone, and they didn't give me any hassle once they realized that they couldn't help me increase my speed.
Description of Work: I used Verizon for telephone and DSL internet service.

This lost the workorder, twice. Took four or five phone calls over two or three months to renew. Should of taken one call. The Fios service is top notch, picture quality is great, Internet is fast. Whenever I do an Internet speed test, I get what I'm paying for, which is 25Meg upload and download. Any customer service call takes 5 - 15 minutes to a real person. Price is getting very high. My service package was $129/mo three years ago, then $149, now $159. Will be checking Xfinity next time. DVR is very slow moving between menus and has low capacity.

I stay with Verizon because I am too lazy to switch, but they quality is very poor. If you are moving to Cambridge and have not selected a provide yet, you may want to look around. The landline is POK, but the internet access is the worst of anyone I know. It drops so many websites and takes a long time to pull up all of them (I have a new computer, so it is not me).

The one major complaint I have is, like all companies in this industry, their pricing and billing procedures, as well as the layout of their invoices, are very frustrating to navigate. I would give anything just to have a simplified bill that I could understand, and believe that companies make them intentionally confusing to hide what a customer's true cost is. That being said, I would rate Verizon very high in customer service and quality. I had a period a year ago where my internet connection kept going down, and I had one tech that was excellent in solving the issue, and actually gave me his cell phone number, which I have used a couple times since. That kind of personalized service from a mega-company like Verizon is unheard of, and it will make it very difficult for me to jump ship to another provider. No problems with their cable services or phone or internet quality or speed. I have also found Verizon wireless' customer service to be above average

I feel that they are excellent both in customer service, i have a house in a very remote area and Verizon is the only thing that really works pretty well. I have had problems on the road and had to call somebody to get help, they have been very receptive customer service wise, so i am happy with their service. They could do better with their pricing.

Need to switch providers now.
Description of Work: I find it very disturbing that after multiple calls from verizon encouraging me to upgrade to FIOS - of course at a higher cost I am now getting multiple messages that there are "service issues" in my area and now I should upgrade? Funny the internet service has been fine for years. Now my internet speed is slower than slow or goes out completely. Yet service calls turn into a sales call to upgrade. Not ethical.

The service is excellent. I have data and text. Generally, it is good. I have a landline also. I have a good selection of channels. We have one channel that does not come through in HD. They have come out to try to fix it, but we are unable to get this channel. I am generally happy. It is a lot of money.

I have the family plan with them. They are pretty good. I can get online for a certain amount of gigabytes; it is pretty fast. If I get 4G it is pretty fast but if I get 3G then its 3G speed. I chose them because of their coverage. Their quality of service is decent. Their professionalism has been very good as well.

We've had good luck with them. We have very good service. If you update monthly, your phone finds new towers that have been put in and you are less likely to get black zones. I really like Verizon. They told me that my plan was too expensive and I appreciated somebody to tell me that I was paying to much for the amount I was using my phone.

The whole thing is all bundled up together, it's like $230 for the internet, cellphone and home phone. We're happy with it. I don't have internet on my cellphone. We had Comcast and we changed to Verizon because they have a special. We got $300 back and we got a reduced rate for 3 years for the internet. I like it because it's cheaper and their price were comparable, they almost have a monopoly so I'm not going to giving this up because you got 2 choices, you get Comcast or you get Verizon. I haven't had a call for service.

See - What did the provider do ? Listed my comments in this area. I wish i could leave Verizon and Verizon Wireless Completely but can't do it yet but hopefully someday soon !
Description of Work: The Verizon FIO's Customer Service Department and the Verizon Wireless Customer Service is very bad. After 10 plus years of being a loyal customer the bills keep getting higher and the service, delays and trouble keep getting worse. I could lease a Mercedes Benz a month for the rate our monthly bill has become. Yesterday, wanted to cancel my cell phone line and was on hold for 45 minutes and told I needed to speak to the Retention Department, was transferred but they where not available. Called back spoke to a representative again, asking to speak to a Mgr and he hung up on me. Today I called 1-800 - FIOS called customer service department, asked to transfer me to the RETENTION DEPARTMENT and was then again TRANSFERRED to the WIRELESS SIDE. Having a ONE BILL is a nice feature but can cause a lot of headaches, My wife sent a check to Verizon Wireless but Verizon land line was due the bill, the accounting department wouldn't transfer the funds to each other till I asked to speak to a VP in Accounting. Thank Goodness Verizon has competition because as a loyal customer they certainly wear out customers and not getting any better. Verizon 1-800 FIO's Customer Service, the Accounting Department and Verizon Wireless does NOT provide CONSISTENT, helpful, information yet the bills keep getting higher and the services keep getting cut, passing on the higher fees to us the LOYAL CUSTOMERS. Once a business gets to be so large they don't feel the need to provide the service that made them great, in the beginning. Good Luck to All Verizon and Verizon Wireless Loyal Customer, If You Have Any Suggestions Please PASS THEM ON to ALL OF US !!!

I never have problems or issues with the service. Everything has been real smooth and the internet is fast. We only have one bill. I have called a couple of times with questions and it was resolved fairly quickly.

They're very good. I didn't buy a fast package, but the internet is pretty good. You have to pay extra to have super fast internet, but I don't bother with it and just get the basic service. You start off at a low price and they keep going up. I started off at $79.99 and it goes up a little every year. They just raised the prices on different channels and stuff like that, so I discontinued a couple of things. I'll continue using them until I get a better price. Right now this is about reasonable for what people pay because once you do it for a year they all up their prices. It isn't worth changing, but if they offered better packages it would be good.
