Pella Window and Door - Showroom of Seekonk

This is Patricia Gwozdz. Yes, I did use the services of "Pella Window and Door - Showroom of fall river" address is its 1325 airport Road. I had used them last in May 2012. It cost me a little under $ 10,000. They replaced all my windows. My overall experience with them is excellent. They came, they measured and brought in the product to show us what it is; exactly what they had done in and what we were talking about and they explained exactly how they were going to do it. They proceeded as per schedule. They were on time for the date and they did remind me that they were coming. They were very courteous and polite. There was a slight problem with one of the windows and the gentleman named Pete the district supervisor or manager followed up back with me and did everything that was absolutely perfect. I found him as a very responsive team lead, and they were proud of their product. I agree with the disclaimer that you read to me as correct, and I dont want this audio and its text placed on the web.

The windows were ordered in October but they didn’t go in until December; they finished the week of Christmas. I take some responsibility because I relied totally on Consumer Reports but it is my impression now that they are paid through the back door somehow. I went in there to discuss the windows and it was explained to me that I would lose ¾ inch of glass on each side. Knowing that my house was dark to begin with, I opted for new installation; that way the glass wouldn’t be cut down an inch and a half. At that time I was told that the work would be guaranteed if I hired their contractor. I started to notice a design flaw in these windows. The lip of the window is at the mid section so it is very difficult to lift the window up if you are short. As far as the screens are concerned, there is no channel for them to sit in. They claim that this is so that the rain to flow out but it actually lets the bugs in. My attitude with them has not been good because I’ve been disgusted with what has transpired. The windows were all bowed when they were installed because the opening wasn’t large enough. Both Pella and the carpenter told me that they would save as much of the frame and sills as they could, but they apparently could not. The windows are about a half in longer which means I can’t use a store-bought curtain that I like to buy. The contractor hired a subcontractor who was nothing more than a handyman. I am stuck with a window that I hate because of the design flaw and I will take some responsibility for that, but no one ever explained to me that the frame and sill would be larger. I should have looked at customer reviews on the internet because they do not have good reviews. Pella told me that they ordered screens with bristles on the bottom that are thicker but they are the same as what I had before so they didn’t keep their word on that.
