They built a custom shed for us and we love it! Our property is on a hill so it was hard to find a good spot for a shed but Rob found the perfect spot and built a beautiful shed with shelves and tons of storage space. Rob was professional in the beginning and stuck to our contract dates. Several months after the deck was completed I noticed a board was not secured down and that some of them were splitting. I contacted Rob several times left voice messages, sent text messages, and finally replied after about two months with a voice mail (which I still have) saying he would come by to secure the board and look at the splitting boards. He never came, I gave up after many, many phone calls. It is now two years, and I would say at least 30% of the deck is splitting. It could not have been done correctly and I paid top dollar for this. Terrible customer service and that is why I cannot recommend Rob Douglas.

He wanted to get in and out and collect our money. He didn't complete the work correctly. He caused a lot of problems we've had to fix. He kept asking for money without completing the work and everything he has done has to be torn out and redone correctly which is charging us double the cost. also lied to us and said he didn't need a permit to complete the work. he was supposed to get a permit if you hire him make sure you check everything he is doing and make sure he is doing it right. do not let him do the plumbing or electrical work or you will have to have it done over the right way.

Rob is congenial, dependable, works quickly, quality work! We plan on hiring him in the future for other various construction projects! He is a great find!

Outstanding remodel work! Absolutely love my new home! The owner and staff were dedicated to the project, worked closely with me through any required changes & recommendations, and stayed within budget. Would highly recommend to hire for any construction work! ~Jessica D.

I would never use Rob Douglas to build anything again, and neither should you. I'm breaking this review into three sections: Building Code issues, Items needing correction/repair, and other issues. ******Building Code issues (per the Kingston Building Inspector) No footings were installed to support the front and rear exterior stairways. The Installed stairs from the garage into the dwelling were not constructed to meet the minimum building core requirements. The exterior grading does not meet the minimum slope requirements of the Code. The back deck was repaired and expanded without a Building Permit. The back deck is not properly connected to the house or the post/footing structure. Appropriate Code required heat detectors were not installed in the garage. The rear stairs to the deck were not properly installed to meet Code requirements. Proper ridge vent & soffit venting was not installed. There is no record that a final Building or wiring system inspections were ever performed. *****Items needing correction/repair The frons storm was damaged He used existing deck posts & joists The garage doors/electric openers were not installed properly Not all trim/soffit boards were replaced per contract Downspouts were not replaced Garage floor has many, many cracks The garage foundation leaks after a heavy rain A closet was left unfinished Wood scraps were left in the yard ******Other Issues He didn't seem to be able to read a set of plans or even instructions. The aforementioned back stairs fell off the deck because they were nailed vertically into the joist. It took him six monthe to come back and repair, but not to code. The contract did not have his contractors license number nor did it have an estimate of completion date His excavation guy backed out so Rob asked for additional payment, which he received half He did not record payments made to him correctly. He claims he tried to contact me numerous times via email, phone calls & texting, none of which ever happened. His work schedule was sporadic, we never knew when he was going to be on the job. He was deceitful. The heat detectors installed were battery-powered, not hard wired, as per code. The overall quality was spotty. IN addition, the two pre-hung entry doors do not open or close properly. With respect to his response, all I can say is that Bob Douglas is an unmitigated liar. The court decision was severely flawed and it doesn't help when false testimony is given. The real "fun" is about to start. In addition, The State of Massachusetts suspended his Construction Supervisor license for three and a half months as well as fining him $1,900 for contractor code violations. Decisions available upon request. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HIRE THIS INDIVIDUAL TO DO ANYTHING TO YOUR HOUSE!
