Stefano's Landscaping Design and Construction

Showed up on time, did the job. No complaints so far.

In an era of everything service rarely being performed correctly the first time, dealing with Stefano's has been an absolute pleasure. They do what they say, when they say they will do it. Their employees are professional, and their work is more than satisfactory. My lawn has gone from "worst to first" in the neighborhood, under their care. I would happily recommend Stefano's to my friends and relatives.

After contacting Stefanos Landscaping, I did not hear back until suddenly one day, an estimate was left at our house (while I was at work). I had asked for an estimate for cleaning up the yard enough to mow, weed whacking the overgrown grass, and for an estimate of regular mowing services. The yard cleanup estimate was $425.00, including edging, mulching, and "Blow Down property" (none of which I had asked for, though I did expect removal of the cut grass), and I thought that was excessive for such a small yard which had been extensively cleaned up the previous year, i.e. no excessive brush or weeds to deal with, just overgrown grass and some debris thrown up by the wind and extreme plowing from the record winter we had last year. The estimate also included a weekly mowing estimate of $50, which I also thought was excessive, and in this area, mowing certainly does not need to be done weekly (10-day interval is optimal). So, all in all, I was not pleased at not having been contacted personally either via phone or email to discuss what I wanted done, and I thought the costs were too high, so I went with another service (who charged me $50 for the cleanup and $40 for mowing every other week -- and did/is doing a great job!).

It went well. Workers did a good job.

Jeremy and his crew, especially Elder and Angel, are wonderful! They dug up and removed asphalt, old retaining wall, and stepping stones, and front walkway to the house and installed a new front pavers and granite step, retaining wall with granite steps and blue slate stepping stones. Everything turned out better than I had envisioned

It went extremely well. Jeremy was extremely helpful with suggestions and he managed to come up with a design that we loved and was maybe a little bit over our budget but now that is is done it was certainly worth it. Jeremy gave us a detailed proposal pricing the different jobs (plants, grass, irrigation) which was very helpful. The patio area looks beautiful, they managed to come do the job within a couple of weeks after we decided and the whole crew was very professional and nice. Our front yard needs a lot of work and we will definitely hire them again once we are ready to go ahead with this other project.

Everything went really well. Greg came out to meet us at the house after work (very helpful since both my wife and I work). We showed him the yard and talked about what we wanted to do generally. He sent us a quote about week later. We went back with a some different plantings and agreed to final quote. He gave us window of week when he thought it could be scheduled. He got back to us what week with the exact day. His team was here ALL day working away. THe mulching took place a couple of days later. The curb appeal of the house is great and our backyard has gone from Jurassic Park of fern to a place where you would not mind spending time.

From the very beginning Greg was great to deal with. He responded to my initial inquiry quickly. While his quote wasn't the lowest he was the only contractor who did not make me feel like he was doing me a favor. He took the time to talk to me, understand what I wanted and delivered a comprehensive quote. On the day of installation he contacted me and his crew showed up on time. Despite the heat, they worked hard all day and finished the job as promised. They left my yard in better shape than when they arrived.The crew were courteous and respectful. Did I mention what a great job they did cleaning up afterwards? At the end of it all, the patio far exceeded my expectations!!! It looks awesome. I'm so excited to the summer ahead. I wish Angie's list would let me give Stefano's an A++.

Jeremy was super easy to work with and he really knew his stuff; he even went over the necessity to put geo-grid behind the new wall. We are still evaluating our next steps; however, I would be totally confident using Stefano's for even complex landscaping construction work.

For this project, we had requested quotes from four contractors. Stefano's was not the lowest, but was competitive with the others. Greg met with us within days of requesting a quote and understood what we were looking for. He explained everything clearly and answered our questions. He was flexible when we wanted to change the material for the walkway and worked with us on the design. The step and walkway were completed BEAUTIFULLY in only two days, and we love it! Stefano's subcontracted the driveway portion of the project. Because of a backlog in the paving company's schedule, we had to wait to start the driveway. Greg didn't always call us promptly to let us know about the delays, which was a concern. But once the paving company came, they did the whole job in a SINGLE DAY!! After the driveway was finished, Greg's team came back and added loam and seed to the torn-up and bare areas of the lawn. Very nice. Overall, everything turned out just as we had wanted. We're very happy with the results. We would definitely use Stefano's again.

They were easy to talk with. We felt that their bid was appropriate and not overly expensive compared to some others. I felt that the work they did was good so we just used them again for just lawn maintenance. They provide a summation of what they are working on when they come and give recommendations of things that we could work on. I feel that they are very competent.

It started off well at first, but then began to not show up for appointments, to the point where I had to chance down the company so they would keep on top of weekly maintenance. Also received pricing from Stefano's to updated our shrubs, and it was inflated by over $1k. I fired them shortly thereafter, I was disappointed with their service.

Greg and his crew are great to work with. Pleasant and polite and clearly skilled in the work they do. From our initial meeting to obtain a proposal to completion of the work, we had a good feeling about hiring them. And most importantly we are now looking at a beautiful front walk and patio in back. Have already talked to Greg about more work we would like to have done this spring.

Stefano's came out to our house to go over the different services we wanted, the various things we wanted to trim, and how we wanted the lawn to look. They gave us an estimate with the amount of time it'd take to do the job and approximate cost. When it came to chatting with Stefano's over the phone to go over the details and set up a time / date, they were pretty responsive. After the visit, we had wanted to make two changes: (1) skip mowing the lawn (we have a lawnmower) and (2) cut down one of our trees. Stefano's indicated that we didn't need to be home when they worked on the lawn. However, this was the first time I was working with a landscaping service so I wanted to be home in case there were any problems. On the day of the service, Stefano's arrived in the afternoon, though the guy who did the assessment wasn't there. When I greeted the workers, they had both outdated notes on what they were doing and no details on what we actually wanted trimmed. Their notes basically said "trim shrubs, weed, prune as needed" -- none of the details we had gone over in the assessment. They also had no details on the tree we wanted cut. In addition, they spoke broken English which made it difficult to communicate -- and they couldn't get in touch with the person who had done our assessment. Given how things had gone beforehand with Stefano's, I was shocked -- what would have happened if I wasn't there? I felt like I needed to be out there constantly directing them. They missed several shrubs which were supposed to be trimmed and started packing up without even verifying with me that they had gotten everything. When I pointed out which shrubs were missed, they were clearly annoyed. Quality-wise, the work they did was great -- the yard looked fantastic. Communication and process / project management for the actual services was poor at best. For almost 3 months, we also never received the bill -- and when we did it included services we didn't ask for (like mowing the lawn). I'm not the type of person who sets impossibly high expectations and is always disappointed -- I very rarely write bad reviews. I'm a pretty reasonable person. However, I think the lack of direction for the workers tainted my experience. Unfortunately, despite everyone else's great experiences, I wouldn't work with them again. Hope your experience is better!

Had to make 2 calls to contract the work but the job done was excellent and I am pleased with the look of our new 40 foot walkway. I was very anxious about the entire project and made many phone calls to check on details. The provider did not do the work himself but the workers who did were very professional and prompt. I was surprised that the provder did not visit the finished project or contact me re the results. Would definately hire again though as the cost was great and the work great.

I hired Stefano?s landscaping for my mother?s lawn maintenance. This was the first year we have used Stefano?s and I have been very happy with their services. Our previous landscaper left us last year along with a pile of leaves that fell during the fall. Since he did not notify us that he could not handle the fall cleanup we were left with all the fallen leaves throughout the winter. I checked Angie?s List and found Stefano?s who had many positive reviews. A friend of mine also hired them and was very happy with the company. Stefano?s did our spring clean up, which was pretty messy since the leaves were sitting all winter long. They also provided bi-weekly mowing, fertilization, and shrub trimming. We also plan to have them for the fall clean up. I am very happy and impressed with their work. They are also readily available when you call and their response time is good. I have met one of the crew who fertilized while I was visiting my mother?s house and he was very polite and friendly. The lawn always looks so nice and neat after they mow. Cost of lawn care: Spring Cleanup - $375 Fertilize - $45 Bi-Weekly mowing - $45 Shrub Trimming - $275

The crew showed up on time, reviewed the work order with me before beginning, and executed the project in just a few hours. They were very friendly, professional, and made sure the height and placement of the wells met my needs. I will definitely consider using this company again in the future for any landscaping work.

He was punctual and he did a really good job.

The project was smooth from start to finish. Greg was professional and courteous as well as all of his workers and supervisors. He had great ideas that all worked well and changed our backyard to a wonderful new place that we can enjoy. He was patient with our questions and returned all calls promptly. The cost of the project was reasonable and we not only got the work done, but we were also educated about our property and how to maintain it. We will continue to use his services for future projects, and we would refer him to anyone looking for a top notch experience with a fantastic end result.
