Dan did an awesome job and I'm glad he was the first person to reach out to me because he was exactly as he sounded on the phone; extremely nice. The steps it takes to properly refinish & protect a wood door are so very time consuming and inconvenient, I am 100% glad I decided to have Dan do this work. My wooden Anderson storm door that I stained and polyurethaned myself 5 years ago was weather beaten to the point that the polyurethane had peeled off and the bottom was completely unprotected. Also, the cherry stain had worn off and had turned black. I planned on refinishing it myself, but I never had the time. I signed on with Home Advisor and Dan contacted me immediately and he came by to assess the work to be done on the door, the door's glass insert, and the door's frame on the house. I was happy that he took the door and the glass insert to his shop so I did not have to deal with the dust and fumes that are produced by this work. The work consisted of sanding, multiple staining and drying tasks, applying multiple layers of polyurethane, and drying in between each application. All of this gave the door a sturdy protective finish. The door, the door's insert and the frame on the house came out great! Dan is personable and professional, and listened to what I said I needed him to do. He was in constant contact with me to tell me how the job was progressing and to ask me for my feedback. I truly, highly recommend Dan.

Dan is an extremely good carpenter and I recommend him highly. Originally, I hired him to install new windows, but he informed me that I did not need new windows but sealing of the frames around the windows. He saved me money and he lost money. Dan was reliable. When he told me he was coming on a particular day, not only did he come but also called me to tell me he was on his way! His knowledge of what was needed to be repaired and expertise in workmanship was exceptional. If you need any type of construction work, I would hire Dan Swanson.

We needed a new screen door after a strong gust of wind blew ours open with such force it was bent out of shape and would not close. Dan responded quickly, made temporary repairs to allow the damaged door to close until he installed a new one. Dan took care of the entire process. He had the know-how and tools to make all the adjustments to the door and the frame for the new door to fit and operate properly. He pays attention to detail and he made sure we were satisfied when he finished the job. I would call him again without hesitation.

When he came to complete the repair, he was very thorough and wanted to make sure it came out perfect, even if it required more work.
