I called Rob to come out for an estimate on my admittedly small plumbing jobs, but there were several of them in the house, including replacing the tub. He came out when he said he would, which was great, and seemed interested in the work as he told me he would get me an estimate within a few days. I never heard from him, so I followed up because sometimes things slip through the cracks. He again didn't respond. It was pretty disappointing and, in my eyes, unprofessional to tell a potential client you will bid the job, and then not do it and not respond to a follow up from the client. My advice for next time Platinum Plumbing doesn't want to bid a job, just tell the client that instead of being intentionally misleading. What a waste of both of our time.

de protection even during a power outageWe recently purchased a stackable washer-dryer set. Since these were installed on the second floor, it was recommended that we install a water shut-off valve. I placed the phone call and the owner answered the phone. He was out on the road (not on another job) took the call. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what I needed and actually saved me money. I initially wanted an electric valve but he suggested a manual valve. This saved me half of what the job cost. He gave me a quote over the phone made and then made an appointment. He arrived as scheduled (actually, earlier because I was the first appointment of the day) and he finished the work in an hour. He was very neat and tidy in his work and very professional. I could sense that he truly cares about the work that he does. He is our new go-to plumber!

He was a really great guy but I wasn't able to use him because I needed an old part but he took a look at it. If I need a plumber in the future, I would definitely call him. He was a great guy. He didn't even charge me to look at the issue. He was very good.

Everything went exactly as he had described it; he was on time and after he left, you wouldn't have known that he was even there -- the work and professionalism were flawless.

Quick to respond to my call, and gave me a price quote over the phone that was almost $200 cheaper than a few of the other plumbers I called. He was able to come out within the next day or two to install the new toilets that I had purchased previously. He was fairly quick at the installation. However, he didn't put a rag in the drain after removing the old toilets, so the whole house smelled strongly of sewer gas for the next day or two. He used his own, stronger bolts instead of the factory-supplied ones; this was good, but he didn't tighten one of the bolts down tightly enough, so one of the toilets rocks when you sit on it. Finally, when I was calling around I was asking for the price of replacement of 2 toilets, he didn't let me know that his price didn't include removal of the old ones; the other plumbers specifically stated that their price included removal, and I had spoken with them first, so I didn't think to bring it up. Apparently, if I had bought the new toilets directly from him, I would have paid approximately the same overall cost as I did to purchase my own toilets and have them installed, and he would also have removed the old ones from the site. He didn't tell me this over the phone, so the old toilets sat in my garage for a few weeks before I called 1800GotJunk and had them removed; this cost as much as what I had saved by hiring this "cheaper" plumber, so the difference in price was completely moot. He got the job done, and did so quickly, but I don't think that I'll be hiring him in the future.

It went very well. plumber tried to perform less costly method, which did not work, and had to cut pipe and snake out clog. Replacing valve in basement went smoothly and was done in an extremely professionally manner

The furnace was installed in a timely fashion and functioned well on its inaugural firing. Communication from the contractor was great, actually much better than the average. This is key to a good working relationship and goes a long way to building trust between contractor and client. He called ahead when he realized that he'd be a little late for the first appointment and asked if that would still work for me. He did an effective job explaining what the options were, answered all my questions and had a generally friendly and cooperative demeanor. While the technician was finishing his clean-up after the initial firing-up of the furnace he noticed that heat was backing out of the hot water heater vent in the wrong direction, so we shut off the furnace and I called a chimney repair company. The contractor was not satisfied with the chimney venting and potential CO emissions and pointed me to a safe solution. He came back to double-check the job after the chimney work was complete and made adjustments to the vents to meet the inspector's requirements (the arrival of which he had arranged). I'd recommend this company without reservation!

I was extremely happy with the quality of the service provided and the responsiveness to what I needed, not to just making an extra buck, or two It was also great to have the owner answer the phone and complete the service call, rather than some hired flunky. I called on short notice to have the electronic ignition services. I could hear the ignition system starting up, but the furnace wouldn't catch. The owner answered and said that he had several appointments already scheduled, but that he would try to make it by the house late in the day, if possible and that he would call later in the day to touch base. I received a call early in the afternoon telling me that he would be able to make it around 4:00 PM and he arrived later that day right on schedule. When he arrived, he quickly opened up the unit and inspected the burner and ignition system. He explained that the most likely problem was that the gas line was partially blocked and that it would be a relatively simple fix. He cleaned out the line and tested the startup several times to make sure that it was working properly. He also inspected the overall condition of the furnace, pointed out some potential problems and explained that they could present a serious Carbon Monoxide problem. He showed me where some of the burners had started to show wear and how some of the flame wasn't burning properly. He explained that the furnace was near the end of its life and that it probably had about another year before it would have to be replaced. He said that replacement parts would be almost impossible to find, but that if needed, he might have some sources. He asked if I had installed any Carbon Monoxide detectors in the house and strongly recommended that I install them throughout the house, especially with the age and condition of the furnace. I asked about the cost of replacement. He quoted some options and related costs which seemed reasonable and in line with previous quotes. He also stressed his credentials as a Master Plumber and how quality work was very important to him. I was very happy with everything related to this service call, especially his concern for the health and safety of my family. I appreciated that he didn't try to push the additional repairs, or blow the repairs out of proportion. He gave me an accurate idea of what was wrong, what was needed to fix it and he explained the overall condition of the furnace and made recommendations for additional work when I could manage it. I would definitely hire Platinum for any heating/AC, or plumbing work that may come up in the future.

When we began getting quotes to convert our heating system, we had 2 objectives - replace our heating system and find a plumber that we would feel comfortable using all of the time. We interviewed 5 plumbers. Rob's first question was how long we planned on staying in the house - our response determined which system he would recommend. This made a lot of sense to us. He was the only plumber who asked this. The rest of the plumbers just gave us their quotes - some using low end systems and some high end but none of the rest helped us determine why we would want to choose one system over the other. Rob always showed up when he said he would and responded quickly to our calls and questions. We really liked the fact that he did the work himself. He's very neat and cares about the way the job looks as well. The last day of the installation took longer than Rob expected. We told him it was okay that we didn't have heat that night and for him to go home. He refused. Rob stayed until 9 PM (a 12 hour day) to ensure we had fully functioning heat before he left. We had Rob come out to look at an investment property we're buying. We thought we would have to replace some of the older registers. Rob gave us an easy solution to do ourselves rather than charge us more and do the replacement. Rob is everything we were looking for in a plumber - a good plumber who is responsive, punctual and fairly priced. His work ethic is impressive and to a level you don't often see today. We not only replaced our heating system, we found our plumber!

We have been using Platinum Plumbing for over 4 years now - I will never use another plumber as long as he is in business. He has the best work ethic, is responsive, prompt and does beautiful work. Our first experience was during an emergency of frozen pipes on a weekday. I called 6 plumbers in the area - Rob was the only one who actually answered his phone. (The others had voicemail or message services - and 2 never returned my call.) Rob came that evening and took care of the problem promptly and without charging me excessive fees for the same day service. Since then we have used his services frequently for everything from snaking out clogged sewer lines, installing dishwashers to a very large job of updating a 30 year old furnace and "home built" heating system in our antique home. This last project in the spring of 2010 was the most spectacular. It consisted of removing a broken oil furnace, replacing it with a natural gas furnace, cleaning up the old piping and running the exhaust for the new gas furnace on a 5 zone system. Rob found a couple of problems with our old system and was able to increase the heat to two of our rooms. His final cost came in at $1500 under his original estimate. He told us this was because he was able to get the parts for less than anticipated and finished a bit early. How many other plumbers would have been that HONEST? The final piping is a work of art - the zones are clearly marked, the pipes are all even and it just looks lovely in the basement. We had Rob back out in the fall of 2010 to tweak the furnace a bit - he came out promptly and didn't charge us for the tweak. I recommend Platinum Plumbing to all of my friends and neighbors.

He is very responsive and gets back to us right away if we call. He is able to come the same day for any emergencies we have. He does a good job and we have not had any complaints about the work he has done so far. We have used several plumbers in the past but we find him the best. We are pleased that his work is done quickly and on time. He is very punctual and the price seems fair. His recommendations seem quite accurate.
