The end result looks okay but I caught them cutting corners. I paid to have all the exposed wood covered with aluminum around my gutters and under the soffets. The ONE place you couldn't see from the ground, they didn't cover. I got up on a 30ft ladder to check all their work and discovered the problem. I was pretty mad, and got them to fix it. The end result was good, but only because I got up on a ladder to check their work. I don't trust them.

The job went pretty much as I expected. The workers were all very skilled and generally communicative. The roofers seemed to do a nice job and I haven't had any issues with the roof installation. The pricing was reasonable and all the extras that I got charged for were explicitly listed on the contract (e.g. kitchen cabinet crown molding, more than two layers of existing roofing). The only concern I had is that they were reluctant to go through the permitting process. In the end the permit never happened and while I am satisfied with the end product I think a permit should have been pulled. I would definitely recommend and use this company again.

I got several estimates and I chose them because they gave me a very good price, a thorough proposal and Steve, the sales guy, was very good, too. They backed up a little bit because they were supposed to start in August and they started in October/November, but it didn't matter because I just needed it done. I got a discount from Angie's List.

We interviewed a lot of people on Angie s List and picked them. They did a wonderful job putting up new windows, except one of the guys put his knees through the wall, and they did a terrible job fixing that. The ball was dropped due to personal matters. Once the owner found out, they called and apologized profusely. They had good responsiveness early on, but then the ball was dropped. Discussions are ongoing regarding the wall repair.

They got most of the work completed, and what they did do was done satisfactory. I have had a little problem with leaking, where they failed to seal well around the chimney. They also did not properly attach the gutter to the drain pipe from the roof. They have not returned at all to finish the last odds and ends. They also left some tools in my backyard, which are gone now. They were also very hard to get a hold of when I started calling them back in September of last year, to do this project. I would not refer anyone to them.

They didn't get started quite as soon as they said they would (almost 2 months later), but they were really nice to work with, did a great job, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Jason was very easy to work with. The crew was here on time and was not disruptive at all. They worked quickly and the job was complete in the time frame that was estimated. They worked with me on the overall cost and dropped the price to meet my needs. I had a very good experience with them and currently have them quoting a siding job.

Arthur was very prompt & very pleasant. He would answer both emails & phone calls very promptly. The estimate was very detailed. I paid the deposit, then paid in full & forgot to deduct the deposit. I received a note with a check for the difference & I didn't even notice I over paid!

Overall we were satisfied with the work that had been done. They were very prompt at returning phone calls when we were trying to decide which company to pick, but not as responsive after the deposit. We signed a contract at the beginning of Sept; they said the work would be done by mid-to-late Oct. I called at the beginning of Oct; when they finally got back to me (after several messages), they said end of Nov. When I called mid-Nov, they said mid-Dec. The roof was finally finished right before the New Year. However, we were out of town while the work was being done (since we hadn't planned on it taking almost 3 months to get the work done), so we weren't able to follow the work as closely as we would have liked. Clean-up was OK; they blew out a lot of the leaf debris we hadn't cleaned up in the fall, but I'm still picking up nails, shingles, tar paper (and cigarette butts!!!) in our backyard. Price-wise, they were in the middle of estimates we got. Plus: 15-yr work guarantee.

Came fairly promptly to give estimate. Work was understandably delayed by weather. During the first day of work, all seemed to be going well. I was not there the second day. Got a call saying they recommend replacing all 2x4 stair boards on kitchen stair - more rot than first thought. I gave the OK at extra cost. But when I saw the finished job, they had substituted 5/4 boards for 2x4s. We agreed to leave them there but I would not have to pay the extra cost. It would have been difficult to remove the 5/4 and install 2x4s. So I'm satisfied. The rest of the work was just fine, and they did an excellent job cleaning up.

Representative came out promptly and did a careful job evaluating the project, offered recommendations per my request, and answered all questions we had. We took awhile to make a decision, but once we did, the job was promptly scheduled. The crew arrived on time, was extremely courteous and professional, completed the work in exactly as much time as they said they would, and did an excellent job with cleanup. Another representative came out a few days later to check the work, and make sure the cleanup was satisfactory. I am very pleased with the work and it's actually the second time I've used them. They were just as good this time as on my previous job a few years ago (in a different house).

The crew and all of their equipment arrived on the scheduled morning that the work was to begin. Within an hour of arriving, the crew and all of the equipment and left, without explanation. After contacting the company I was told that the crew was refusing to do the job that had been bid. I was told that a smaller crew would return the next day. A smaller crew did return and the job that had been estimated in the contract to take 5-6 days took one month. Because I have a home office, having the workers around for one month was painful to say the least. The length of the work would have factored into choosing this company if we had known up front. Jim Travers was our initial contact and spoke of being the point person for the project, but did not return calls after the project began. For the most part the company was responsive to concerns and issues that arose during the month of work. To date, four months since the work was done, there are no roof problems.

Although they had the lowest quote of the 5 contractors we called they also had some strange things in it. They wanted to put rolled roofing on our dormers instead of shingles as well as on the flat roof. All the other companies suggested shingles for the dormers and a rubber roof for the flat roof in the back. So we decided not to go with them.

They were prompt in their estimate, called to update me about when they could do the work, arrived promptly and did the job correctly. They cleaned up after themselves and took away the debris.

Overall, I am very pleased with the work. They did what they said they would do, the price was competitve, and the price that was quoted was the final price. When I came home, the area around the house looked like it did when I had left. The only issue I would raise is that it took a few follow up phone calls on my part to find out updates on the possible dates of the work. Arthur and Jason treated me and my wife with respect despite our apparent lack of knowledge when it comes to this type of work.

The timing of when it would be completed was something we were aware could be anywhere from 6 weeks to 10 weeks based upon weather. They arrived on a Thursday afternoon and stripped the roof and by 2:00 the next day, the new roof was added and the yard was completely cleaned up. I was very happy with the work. I had a friend who knows the industry review the agreement and he said that it was a solid contract as far as the warranty and services included. I had another company price it out and the price was 40% higher than this price. Overall, I was very happy with the work Eastern Construction provided.

They were great to work with! Allen Gay came out for the estimate, he was very patient and answered all of our questions thoroughly. They were very good about keeping us informed as to when the work would begin and when materials would arrive. They provided copies of insurance and licensing, also references, without even having to ask. They are very up front and honest. Allen came out with Gary and Ryan to do the work, I couldn't believe how hard those two men worked. They worked like Trojans! I was very impressed and we haven't had any problems. He even installed a ridge vent at no extra cost. Allen was very easy to get a hold of and would return calls promptly, even on the weekends. It was a very good experience and I would definitely use them again.

Decided not to use them based on less-than-perfect Angie's List reports. Their price, $10,125 was $1000 higher than the estimate we will go with, from a company with near-perfect reports.

The roof itself looks good and seems to be holding up fine. No leaks and the shingles look nice. Unfortunately, they did not do everything they were supposed to and caused a lot of damage to other parts of the house. The crew never worked a full day, and were always short of people, with constant excuses for leaving early. Portions of the roof were stripped and then left uncovered in snow and rain for days before the new roof was installed. Cleanup was terrible. Nails were left everywhere and the gutters were left completely clogged with roofing material. The roofers also hung tarps to catch falling debris by nailing through the vinyl siding, gutter flashing, as well as into trim and railings on our porch and deck. This damage looks terrible and has been a headache to fix.

They were thorough in their inspections, installations and follow-up. They brought up very good suggestions on how to improve the original design (at a minimal additional cost) and installed high quality finish work, especially the exterior siding, roofing and waterproofing. Once we signed the contract and sent in our deposit, it took about a month to get them on the job. After they began work however, they were efficient and punctual.

They were very professional. I liked the fact that the supervisor checked out the job the day before work commenced in order to ensure proper materials were available etc. They came in with a full crew and were done in two days. They were attentive to the garden and shrubs.

Their analysis of the task was coherent and convincing; they were booked up, but were able to do the job during a brief break in the weather. They were professional and thorough and responsive to questions. Their price was competitive. I would recommend them to others since they did what they said they would, the workmanship was very good, and they didn't over-price.

They were very prompt and courteous. They were also very thoughtful and careful in their work. Several of my neighbors have used them for major jobs, and have been satisfied. Definitely recommended.

The company called me back promptly after I left a message. They set up an appointment & showed up on time. Their representative was knowledgeable & courteous, & said he would send me a quote. However I never heard back from them. About a year ago they had come out to do an estimate for a minor roofing job & the same thing happened, no quote & at that time they never returned my calls. This time I didn't bother & went with someone else.
