We had water damage to the original plaster walls and ceilings of several rooms and the stairwell of our 1891 home. Eddie Santos was terrific to work with. He asked good questions, gave an accurate estimate, and held to it even in the face of unexpected problems (not his fault). He responded quickly and completely to questions and requests - even at odd hours and weekends. His crews were always on time and professional. They worked efficiently and carefully, protecting our furniture, floors and draperies. The rooms look great now! Excellent work, excellent value. Highly recommended!

Eddie and the crew remodeled our upstairs by adding two rooms and redoing the hallway and the stairs. My wife was very pregnant at the time. Eddie worked with us so that the work would be done quickly. All the guys on the Eddie's crew are very professional. The resulting rooms look beautiful. Highly recommended.

Since this was an exterior paint job, its scheduling was very dependent on the weather. We also could not do both the front and back steps at the same time. Eddie was very responsive in scheduling the work, often at the last minute, depending on the forecast. We are very satisfied with the work his team did in preparing and staining our porch and steps.

We hired Eddie Santos through Mike Bauman of Bauman Remodeling to repair the damage on our home from ice dams last winter. We are very particular about the 100 year old house and were looking for someone who would take the time to preserve the beauty of our Arts and Crafts period home. We immediately felt at ease with Eddie. He was very thorough and fair during the proposal process. As the work progressed, we liked the results and asked Eddie and his team to take on more projects including painting the exterior of our house. Eddie and his crew were very professional and customer service oriented. Eddie consistently responded to my questions or concerns immediately and because of his high standard of service, we never felt out of the loop. The quality of his work was extremely professional. He gave us straight answers to our questions and did everything he said he was going to do. I would defiantly use E&L Painting and Plastering (Eddie Santos) again and will recommend him to our friends.

Eddie Santos?worked with?Mike Bauman?to oversee the painting - and later a flooring project - in our two bedroom, two bath, second floor condo. Mr. Santos, owner of the painting company L and E Plastering and Painting which performed the work, projected the project would take up to 4 days, but his men had it completed in 3. They arrived punctually every morning and were pleasant, professional, and very accommodating as they had to work around myself (home business), my mother and our two cats. While we had previously put into storage all of our small furniture items, collectibles and knickknacks, The painters still had to move select furnishings around while they worked, and they never complained or damaged anything (well, one item was damaged, but it wasn't their fault). Their work ethic was such that even though we told them we didn't care if they got paint on the wall-to-wall carpeting - it was soon to be replaced by the wood flooring - there were relatively few spots, and everything else was left as clean as when they arrived each day. After the flooring project was completed, they returned to touch-up the baseboards which had been removed and to fix minor damage done to the walls for an additional half-day project which had been included in the original estimate. The quality of the work appears exceptional to my eyes - the surfaces are smooth with no evidence of brush strokes or drips. We had one wall done in a different color from the rest of the condo, and where it meets the dominant color there is no evidence of color bleeding or dripping. We have already recommended this company to some friends and will continue to do so should anyone ask us for a good contractor, carpentry, or painting service.

Eddie Santos is a diligent service provider, he does painting and plastering with Mike Bauman of Bauman Remodeling (Dedham, MA), who is also on Angie's List. For this job, I thought Eddie deserved his own review because he and his workers did all the work. My 3-decker in Dorchester had some wood that was rotting on all 3 back decks. "Rotting" is putting it mildly: I stepped too h****** the 3rd floor back deck, and my foot went through the deck. I called Eddie over and we carefully looked at the house one side at a time, including not only at just the back decks but all areas on all four sides wherever there was a a hole or worn paint, or deck, we looked at it all. Then I asked him for a quote, and he gave me one a week later, $7,000. As he got into doing the project, we did find more deck boards than we originally thought that needed replacing, maybe about 30% more. But Eddie did not push on me for a 30% price increase, which I would not have been able to afford. Instead, he worked with me and we agreed on an additional $800 for the rest of the work. Eddie also selected a good quality trim paint, siding stain, and deck stain from Benjamin Moore (based on experience of cheaper paint disappointingly flaking earlier than hoped, I recommend the more expensive but longer lasting "Aura" not "Super Spec" for trim and wood paint and the "Arborcoat" and not "Super Spec" for deck stain. (The regular-grade siding stain has, however, held up very well.) Eddie and his crew got the work done and did it more than conscientiously: they actually gave some parts of the house, like the back deck entry steps, a sanding and an extra coat of paint even though that was beyond what I had them agree to do. So, I think Eddie does great work, and he gets along with people, and I recommend him highly.

The exterior trim, siding stain, and deck stain on my 3-decker (3-family) apartment house needed some substantial work: water stains, scrapes, insulation blow-in marks, ladder scuffs, new aluminum window frames on 3 windows, and some premature weathering of the stain and trim on the front porch steps. I also wanted some broken shingles replaced, some holes patched, and some old air conditioner supports removed from the wall and their holes patched. Eddie returned my call promptly, came out, looked at everything I wanted done, and suggested that while some of it could be just touched up, two sides of the house had so many scuffs, scrapes, and insulation blow-in marks that it'd be better to apply a whole new coat of siding stain to the shingles (requiring the windows to be carefully covered), and that the porch steps should be scraped, some rotted cedar wood underneath removed, Bondo adhesive applied, sanded, primed, and then painted with deck stain or exterior trim paint as applicable. So that's what we did. I typed everything out and e-mailed it to him and we agreed on each item of work and the price before we started so there'd be no misunderstanding. Eddie and a crew of two came out and, working around 2 weeks of rainy weather, did all as promised, leaving a perfect paint job. I paid half upfront, half on completion. I appreciated how they cleaned up after themselves, not leaving behind any trash, and also how he arranged to come out at the end of the job when I was home from work and let us both look over the whole job to make sure it was done right before I paid him the final half. Eddie is calm, good-natured, yet diligently attentive to detail, and fair about price. What more could you want? Thank you, Eddie!
