Description of Work: We responded to a BIG DEAL in the spring of 2011. We were finally available to schedule a time for the deck work in the fall of 2011 (within the expiration date of the coupon). Seal-a-Deck was on vacation and promised to put us first on their list for spring 2012. They never replied to emails and have dropped communication. It's frustrating because I am out $350 and my tiny deck still needs to be sealed. I don't want to give a good company a bad review, so please Seal-a-Deck, if you're listening, call me!!

Description of Work: Unable to schedule a time with them. Very difficult to arrange a time with. Never reached a live person. Call backs were difficult to understand. Seemed to be unable to arrange via email. Asked for my money back.

Description of Work: We needed to refinish our ipe and cedar deck and stairs. I had done most of the power washing myself, but found that I could complete the prep work due to unreachable areas and time constraints. I called Michael based on Angie's List reviews, and am thrilled with the results! Michael was friendly and knowledgeable (I had also done my research homework and had specific concerns about materials used ) and very clear with his recommendations. He estimated the job fairly, and considered the deck cleaning that I had already done in pricing the work. His workers were punctual, hard-working and meticulous. They finished the cleaning the first day. i was concerned that some of the unreachable areas did not seem to be as "clean" as the areas I had done myself, and Michael responded immediately to my telephoned concerns. The second day they hand-sanded every surface, including the hard to reach areas, and it looked great. they were able to complete the 2 coats of oil/stain, including hand-rubbing all the railings the same day, finishing at 6:00 P.M. Unfortunately we were hit by an unpredicted light rain 20 minutes after they left, and heavy rain the following day. When things dried out, there was some clear damage to the finish from the water. Michael was quick to have his crew return to sand and refinish the damaged areas. However, once dry and in sunlight, the damage was still apparent, and Michael came by in person with genuine concern and eager to please, to walk it through with me, leaving his workman the same morning to re-sand the entire surface lightly and refinish. The result was perfect--a furniture quality finish that is gorgeous, and the Ipe wood looks new! Michael also has a unique niche, where he schedules regular "refreshing" maintenance, on a 1-5 year schedule for our wood surfaces. I am delighted to avoid the future need for a complete do-over as we have done every few years in the past.

Description of Work: I filled out their estimate form on line & submitted pictures of my deck. I received an online quote but I have not heard from the company. I don't even know if they actually are still in business.
