I met David Carnevale, this business owner and the gentleman who performed the work as a referral through another service provider I've used for some 'handyman'-type work previously. I contacted him about leaking sewage pipes, he came out the next day to check them out and quickly thereafter started the work - his flexibility on timing was incredibly helpful. He's a kind man, obviously incredibly knowledgeable, and although he wasn't clear about time frames and sometimes had to break partway through a day to handle other things at other locations, he got the work down over the course of ~a week 1/2 - two weeks. He asked us to tear open the walls ourselves for him to be able to see the pipes to evaluate the issue, and to then correct. He had my partner jackhammer the concrete floor up in the basement, as well. Although his estimate sheet specifically indicated that the work included "removing scrap", he did not - he left the old, removed cast iron pipes on the lawn for us to dispose of. The plumbing work he did was high-quality, and really seemed like it was done well. He has great knowledge of the code requirements, options and was open to talking through. I paid him 1/2 of the job amount up front (materials, etc.) to start, and my mistake was paying him the balance prior to the city plumbing inspection being scheduled. The plumbing was completed, with my walls and ceiling open and plastic hanging to protect the area in my entryway, and for a month after the end of the job he would not communicate with me, respond to messages or calls, or schedule the plumbing inspection to close out the job and allow me to get my walls and ceiling "put back together". I tried to reach out to him personally, repeatedly with no response. I reached out to the Service Provider who referred me to see whether he was dealing with COVID-19, or other issues (that he knew of) which would have put in perspective his lack of communication - he called me then, told me he'd be in touch next week...then didn't. Finally I only got him to re-engage when I called the City plumbing inspector, asking for help. He answered the inspector's calls, the inspector pressured him to finish up, and finally I got the project done. Not once did he apologize for the lack of communication or give an explanation. I believe I would never have had the plumbing inspection done or this closed out if the inspector himself hadn't stepped in. I give him a "A" on his work up to the point I paid him the full balance; I give him an "F" for overall professionalism, responsiveness and handling of the inspection and closing out the job. I am bummed about how this job ended; I would have loved to hire him again for other projects (and had planned to!) given his knowledge, skill and expertise. Given the difficulty he put me through at the end, though, I won't be doing that, and can't recommend him to anyone.

We figured out that we had no hot water. Investigation showed that there was a leak inside the water heater, which was dousing the pilot light. I called early on a Friday morning before a long weekend to see if Dave could come to check it out. Despite both of our busy schedules, Dave fit me in. He determined that we needed a new water heater, but learned that the water heater size I wanted was not available, meaning we would have to be out of hot water until the following Tuesday due to the holiday weekend. After fixing things so the leak stopped, he left, but the next morning, he called to say that he'd found the heater we needed and was willing to install it that day. He finished the work and cleaned up the basement, and we had hot water again. I was thrilled at his dedication to get us hot water sooner rather than later. The reason for the B rather than an A as a final score was that his estimate was quite a bit under the final price, but the work was impeccable and he clearly tries his best for his customers.

Mr. Carnevale was able, between jobs, to perform plumbing services the same day I contacted him. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and as an added extra, had a wonderful sense of humor. He quickly diagnosed the problems, retrieved and replaced the necessary parts (tubing, I believe) or made the necessary adjustment (water pressure). I'm a very satisfied customer and no longer have to cross my fingers when flushing the and quot;porcelain goddessand quot;.... Faith Sederquist

Very good experience. My favorite plumber. He's a small business but was able to come out quickly. He wanted to make sure I got my money's worth, I had to pay for an hour so after he finished the job he looked around at our other plumbing and kept asking didn't we have anything else that needed to be done. We'll definitely use him again and recommend him to others.
