I have to say that in all my years, I've never been treated as badly as the Trewethy employee treated me that day. We had just used them to put in a new toilet and over the years have spent thousands of dollars with them. I would never use them again nor would I ever recommend them. Totally outrageous, and unprofessional behavior.

Extremely disappointed with the price for this service and the customer service. We were aware of price and were told (based on description) that the job would be about an hour to an hour and a half long. Plumber was friendly and polite, but did take alot of time doing his job, he received three phone related phone calls while performing the job. He was at the house for two hours and 10 minutes, and came in with the invoice for 2 hours and a half! We understand they usually charge for the half an hour, but he truly took his time doing the job, he made several trips to the truck and spent some time on the phone! When the invoice was received we told him we would agree on paying 2 hours not 2 and a half ( which I already think is a clot of time for just installing a single sink!) but he insisted on 2.5 hours and on getting his check on the spot. We advised we would call and complain and we did on the day of service. They indicate they would check the paperwork and called back but two business days have gone by and they still have not called. The plumber was friendly, and polite, no complaints about that , but it is ridiculous to see how much time can be abused when you are paying for the time not for getting the job done. I am absolutely sure that if we had paid for the job he could have done it in much less than that. And on top of it I have to pay an extra 20 minutes!!! Totally ridiculous, will never go with them again nor pay for a providers time, only for job accomplished! Still waiting to hear from them ,and would definitely write another review and clear their name if they review this and give us at least that half hour money back. The fee is already well paid and materials were charged at a high rate too! I think they get their fair share, not need to abuse the customer.

They gave me a four-hour window for arrival but actually arrived two hours after the end of that. BUT in all this snow, once they got here, they managed beautifully. They installed the water heater carefully, expertly, sealing a pre-existing gas pipe leak above the heater. The disposal went in efficiently. They were articulate and courteous, very professional in all but punctuality. They service was expensive, but the work is very good.

When our water heater sprang a leak and we were therefore suddenly without hot water, I called around to several plumbers seeking estimates on installing a specific A.O. Smith water heater (model GDHE-50) that I had settled on after doing a great deal of research myself. My old water heater was vented out of our chimney and used a pilot light and no electricity, so installing the new heater meant not only plumbing the gas, but also installing an electrical circuit, a water pump for the condensate, and intake and exhaust pipes out the side of the house. The deep snow around the house made the work even more challenging because it caused difficulty getting the old water heater out and new one into the basement, as well as difficulty getting to the outside of the house where the vent pipes needed to be installed. Trethewey quoted us a price that was in line with the quotes we got from all other plumbers. They were courteous on the phone, and they quickly did the research necessary to ascertain that they would be able to get the heater I wanted that day. They agreed to come out and start the work the next morning, which they did. They came back again the next day and finished the work. Their workers were polite and efficient, and they left their work area clean. I'm pretty sure the job took longer than they expected it to, but they still honored the estimate we had agreed to. It's awesome that they were able to work with us to get things figured out and get our new heater installed so quickly, so we were left without hot water for only a few days.

My over all experience with them has been good. They're very punctual, very easy to get an appointment time and they definitely fixed to their appointment time. The only issue I have with them was price because they're definitely quite a bit pricey than probably other plumbing services but they're very reliable and they do very good work. I would recommend them to a friend because of their quality and reliability.

I purchased a home a couple of years ago with 2 steam heating systems. From the very beginning I've had issues with both boilers. From reading books and doing a ton of online research I discovered that the source of my problems was improper near boiler piping done by knucklehead plumbers. So this year I decided to fix the problem and called five contractors to give me estimates on re-piping both boilers. When I scheduled my appointment with T-bros I specifically told them what my problem was and that I simply needed an estimate. A very nice man came to my home and confirmed my problem. He took a few pictures and measurements and then charged me $156.00 just for coming to my house and looking at my boilers. No work was performed. I was told that if I hired them to do the job that the $156.00 would be subtracted from the total fee of the job. I was fine with this, but T-bros was the only company that charged me for an estimate and the only company that never provided me with said estimate. I was very patient with them. I waited 3 weeks and called them 3 times requesting the estimate. Don't hire this company. They apparently have way more customers than they need from all the PBS plugs they get. If you can't even provide me with an estimate after 3 weeks of waiting, 3 phone calls, and charging me, there's no way your worthy of my business.

I received a call directly from Bob Trethewey, who wanted to hear the details behind my inquiry. I explained that our family home was being sold, and the buyers requested that we remove an old, inoperative solar hot water tank in the basement. Needless to say, I told him, it was difficult trying to find someone to take on this task. Plumbing companies are in the business of PROVIDING - not REMOVING - solar water heating systems (my words). Bob was extremely helpful and asked a lot of questions to get a handle on the situation. I took photos of the system and sent to Bob so he could identify what had to be done. He was good enough to provide the name of a local plumber who could take on the job, and we spoke by phone a few more times over the following days. I was very grateful for Bob's assistance and recommendation.

NOTHING! We have used this plumber for a number of years for minor and more major service calls (water heater), so I was disappointed when for the THIRD time in a two weeks they called me to tell me that they wouldn't be able to make it because of other emergency calls. I was certainly understanding the first two times, but got aggravated when today - after waiting around for 5 hours - they called to say that they wouldn't be able to make it. I know it's a busy season and my needs might be minor to a busted pipe, boiler, or water heater, but they could have told me that it wouldn't be for another week and then schedule a specific hour to call on me to take care of my bathroom and kitchen faucet leaks. Next time I have any dealings with T-Bros will be watching the owner on This Old House. Sorry!

After reviewing four internet resources for consumer reviews, and then meeting with five estimators/work supervisors to provide estimates on the work to be done, I was most impressed by Trethewey Brothers (represented by Brian Craig). Lead plumber Pat and his two apprentices, Pat and Steve, were exceptionally professional with regard to how diligently they conducted the demolition and removal of the old boilers and the installation of the new boilers. In all regards, they proceeded to knowledgeably, thoroughly and efficiently complete the work to be done. I very much appreciated how well Pat addressed all my questions or concerns along the way - -communicating patiently and informatively; also going well beyond expectations about cleaning up and taking care of property in and around the area. I have found Trethewey Brothers to be a class act!

Responded morning of leak from existing water heater and removed old and replaced with new within a few hours

I use T Bros for all my heating/plumbing. Their estimates are accurate and they gave an honest assessment of my plumbing needs without trying to upsell.

Very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I would use this company again.

They are fine; I have used them before. I did not go through Angie's List for them. They are a local company and have been around forever.

The plumber arrived on time and performed the needed services.

We had a written contract including the cost and scope of work to be completed. After digging up the basement slab the plumbers discovered the old cast iron sewer line under our home was rusted and useless. .It was not going to be a simple job. Thankfully, we had contracted with an excellent company who knew how to get the job done from start to finish. The entire crew are well trained and professional. Tom Pearson, and Ed kept us informed about the project and were easy to reach if we had a question or an unforeseen emergency.It's easy to say TBros is a professional and honest company.

Plumber showed up on time and did fixed the leak by reconnecting the PVC pipping. We tryed to get in contact with the plumber to ask him a few question and get the details- for example : what kind of material was used? Was the old pipe used, or was a new one used? Is there anything we should avoid? How do you think the pipe disconnected? What was used to hold the pipping together? He did call us back, but it took a number of calls for this to happen. Our plumber was not available on this day, but did state that he would have charged less the half of what I did pay, if he did do the job. So that being said the price was a lot more then expected. Good: plumber was nice, fixed the leak Bad:, the price and having to call a bunch of times before the plumber returned our call.

I got the company's name from the AO Smith website. I called in advance because we have a hybrid model. I asked specifically if they could come out and do routine maintenance on the heater (clean inlet, heat exchanger, check anode, etc.). I also was not sure if the water heater was working properly since it seems to turn off and on too often ... but, again, this is a hybrid. I figured I'd pay for maintenance and determine if a repair was needed while they were out. Scheduling was friendly and easy. The service guy showed up on time. This is where things went wrong: 1) Service guy had never seen our heater before and proceeded to read the manual for maintenance required. This is why I called in advance. 2) He did have the parts required and would need to come back out ... at least a $400 visit. No problem with $400. What is a problem is that I asked in advance for maintenance and now I have to pay for this visit and the next one. 3) Repair tech over charged us on the total time he spent at our house. Again, no problem paying for them to drive out and back, but he spent way too much time (north of 45 minutes) flipping through the manual, deciding he didn't have the parts. I understand having to pay for the visit, but given the fact that a) I asked for maintenance and didn't receive it, b) the tech could not diagnosis if our heater had a problem and c) he didn't have the parts to do the work, it seems $200 for the visit was excessive. I immediately called the office and explained the situation ... Can we find somewhere in the middle to meet on price? I got a: let me talk to the tech and call you back. No call back and a cashed check later I'm out $200.

It went well. Some of the tiling and carpentry could have been better

They were very busy so unable to come to see our hot water heater. So I called another provider.

On time (same day!!!), on budget, cleaned site post work. Thoroughly professional. Full marks!!!!!

Great! They are very knowledgeable and have a staff large enough to provide service during high demand periods.I was without water due to burst pipes after the New Year 's storm . Even though water problems were lower priority than no heat calls , they got to me after only one day.If you've had a heating /plumbing problem as a result of a major storm , as I have had , you can really appreciate being baled out of a major problem that quickly.

Excellent service provider. Would definitely use them again.

While they are not low cost, they respond to calls, provide good service, and come when they say they are coming.
