We have been using them for about fourteen years now. They are always on time and friendly and make sure to answer all of our questions. I think that they are very expensive, but you get what you pay for. They are a great company to do business with and I would recommend them to anyone.

Whenever I need a plumber, I call them. They are a little more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for with them. They do the job right the first time and they don't have to come back out.

They had to go through the floor to replace the pipe and then repaired the floor when the job was finished. Family owned business that seems to take good care of their customers. We have been using them for years.

Very smooth! Ed was not worried about working with our old brass pipes (which another, younger, TBros plumber was put off by). He was also very patient in explaining the work he was doing to us as I viewed it as a learning experience for the next bathroom we need to remodel. All in all exceptionally professional service. I have been told that TBros. is expensive, but I disagree.

The plumber was wonderful. He worked carefully so that we would not have to have tiles replaced after the job was completed.

We have used Trethewey Brothers regularly for plumbing jobs. They are always professional, efficient and easy to work with. Not only are the plumbers they send to your house always great, but the dispatch runs very smoothly. They arrive when they say they will, prepared for the job. Price may be a little higher than other plumbing companies, but you get what you pay for. The reliability and quality always makes up for it.

I would highly recommend this company. I thought the price was a bit high but well worth it for their quality of work. They're punctual and pleasant and explained why they were doing what they were doing. They had additional materials with them so I didn't have to purchase any products on my own.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had with anyone with whom I have done business. In addition to what I have described, the plumber from Trethewey was extremely rude.

Could I trust their level of service when they cannot bother to return a call?

They are excellent. They are so professional you don't even know they are here. They are worth every penny.

When we called, they were able to send someone the very next morning. They were on time, and the job took exactly as long as they said it would, no longer. uis was very nice, and answered all of my questions. I'm very happy with them; they determined for us that the heater was still under warranty, saving us a lot.

As always, they were very prompt and cordial, did good work, and cleaned up after themselves. In reinstalling radiator, they found several areas in the heating system needing repair. One complaint is that, although I told them I'd need the bathroom put back together again late the next day, they didn't tell me that their last call was at 3:00, leaving me without a toilet for an extra day. The cost seemed high, but I have no basis for comparison so don't know if it was excessive.

I WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE 7-11 TIME SLOT. MICHAEL AND TIM WERE HERE AT 7:20. THEY WERE POLITE, PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ANSWERED MY GENERAL PLUMBING QUESTIONS. THEY WENT RIGHT TO WORK AND FINISHED WITHIN AN HOUR.

SERVICE TECH WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPERIENCED. ARRIVED PROMPTLY AS SCHEDULED. CALLED 20 MINUTES IN ADVANCE OF ARRIVAL AS REQUESTED. JOB WAS COMPLETED FASTER THAN EXPECTED. ACCESS HOLE CUT IN DINING ROOM WALL WAS KEPT TO A MINIMUM. (THE WALL REPAIR WAS HANDLED SEPARATELY BY MY PAINTER). FINISHED JOB WAS PERFECT. CLEANED UP. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE AT RENTAL PROPERTY I OWN AND THEY SHOW UP AS SCHEDULED, ARE PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GET THE JOB DONE. THEIR RELIABILITY IS WORTH A LOT TO ME. AS WITH ANY RENOVATION OF THIS SORT, I RECOMMEND BEING THERE TO VERIFY EXACTLY HOW INSTALLATION WILL TAKE PLACE SO THE DISCRETIONARY DECISIONS (LIKE PLACEMENT OF THE NEW CONTROL AND RETENTION OF THE OLD ONE IN THIS CASE)ARE WHAT YOU EXPECT.

WE HAVE USED THEM A FEW TIMES, THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE THE JOB WE CALLED THEM FOR. THEY'RE NOT THE WORLD'S CHEAPEST, BUT THEY DO A GOOD JOB.

I CALLED, I LEFT A REQUEST ON THEIR WEBSITE, AND EVEN DROPPED BY IN PERSON AT THEIR OFFICE IN ROSLINDALE, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. UPDATE: since the time of the original report, I have had Trethewey work on my heating system a number of times and they have been very responsive and have done great work, including fixing the incorrect installation of our gas boiler when two other plumbers were unable to correctly resolve the issue.

BOILER IS TWO YEARS OLD, THIS WAS A ROUTINE PRE-WINTER SERVICE CHECK. AS USUAL, THEY GAVE ME A WINDOW (7-10AM), THEN AT 6:30AM THE PHONE RINGS TO SAY HE'S ON HIS WAY, AND MY DOORBELL RINGS AT 6:45 (THEY'RE ONLY BLOCKS FROM THE HOUSE). SO, HE WAS EARLY, BUT THAT'S FINE, SINCE I WOULD HAVE HAD TO STAY HOME FROM WORK OTHERWISE. THE JOB TOOK ABOUT HALF AN HOUR (AS ESTIMATED), HE DID IT WHILE I HAD BREAKFAST. HE FOUND EVERYTHING IN WORKING ORDER. AS I SAY, IT'S A TWO-YEAR OLD SYSTEM, BUT WE HAD JUST BOUGHT THE CONDO IN THE SPRING, SO THIS WAS OUR FIRST WINTER IN IT, AND IT WAS GOOD TO HAVE THEM CHECK IT OUT. AS I RECALL, I CALLED THEM ON A THURSDAY OR FRIDAY, AND HE CAME AROUND THE FOLLOWING MONDAY.

THE BALLCOCK ON OUR UPSTAIRS TOILET STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY, CAUSING WATER TO RISE TOO HIGH, AND SEEP OUT THROUGH WHERE THE HANDLE COMES OUT. I TURNED OFF THE SHUTOFF, CALLED TBROS. THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T GUARANTEE THEY'D BE THERE THAT SAME DAY, BUT IF I WANTED TO CALL FIRST THING THE FOLLOWING MORNING (6 AM), THEY COULD GIVE ME A WINDOW. THE PLUMBER CAME AROUND 10 AM, INSTALLING A NEW BALLCOCK, AND FLEXIBLE SUPPLY LINE IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES. DON'T REMEMBER HIS NAME, BUT HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS, WORKED CAREFULLY SO AS NOT TO LEAVE A MESS. HE DIDN'T CLEAN UP AFTER HIMSELF; HE DIDN'T MAKE A MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE! MY WIFE AND I ALSO SPENT ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES TALKING WITH HIM ABOUT A LESS URGENT PROBLEM WITH OUR OTHER TOILET, WHICH IS EVEN OLDER (1930'S). THEY CHARGE $80/HR, WHICH IS AVERAGE, BUT THEY HAVE A $40 CALL-OUT FEE ON TOP. WEEKENDS, THE FEE IS HIGHER, BUT HE LET US OFF WITH THE WEEKDAY FEE, SINCE WE HADN'T SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED SATURDAY SERVICE.

VERY NICE GUY CAME BY AFTER MY FIRST CONVERSATION, BUT THEN THEY NEVER DID GET BACK TO ME WITH PRICING OR SCHEDULING. JUST KINDA FORGOT ME, I GUESS...

WE CALLED THEM TO REPLACE A HOT WATER TANK IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THEY WERE RESPONSIVE, PUNCTUAL AND EFFICIENT. WE HAVE ALSO USED THEM RECENTLY FOR A FEW SMALL PLUMBING JOBS AND WILL DEFINITELY USE THEM IN THE FUTURE.

THIS PLUMBER, LIKE EVERY ONE THAT I SOUGHT OUT, IS SIMPLY ARROGANT IN A POLITE WAY. THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE LIKE ME, WHO DO NOT HAVE A SERIOUS EMERGENCY, MEAN NOTHING TO THEM.

HE HAD SERVICED A YEAR AGO, BUT REFUSED TO COME OUT YESTERDAY. IT SOUNDED LIKE A TRIP ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO INCONVENIENT FOR HIM. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HIS ATTITUDE.

HE WAS COURTEOUS, INFORMATIVE, AND GAVE ME THE ADVICE I NEEDED TO FIX MY FURNACE. I ONLY NEEDED A SMALL PART. AFTER HIS VISIT, I WAS REASSURED THAT MY FURNACE WASN'T GOING TO STOP ON THE COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR. IT TOOK A DAY FOR THEM TO SHOW UP BECAUSE THEY WERE BACKED UP WITH BURST PIPE CALLS, BUT HE CAME FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ON A DAY WHEN WE HAD A WINDOW FROM 8 - 12. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

I RECOMMENDED THEM TO FRIENDS. THIS WAS A BIGGER JOB AND THEY WERE ABLE TO HANDLE THE JOB ON MY OLDER HOME.

THEY WERE VERY POLITE & EFFICIENT. THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO COME OUT MONDAY DECEMBER 29TH BUT WERE SHORTHANDED AND CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY, THOUGH I HAD TO CALL TO FIND OUT THEY WERE NOT COMING THAT DAY. THEY REPLACED A EXPANSION TANK AND THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM.
