Trethewey was the subcontractor for a complete remodeling of two small bathrooms. Their supervisor was almost never present, which resulted in the journeyman plumbers making (and then having to correct) error after error - measurements were off; pipes were placed outside of the line of the stud-wall; a drain line slanted upward, etc.

They contracted out to another company on a holiday. The plumber was at my house within an hour. He unclogged a drain and got the disposal working again after working on it for an hour and a half.

This experience did not go well. The hot water heater was to big for the space, because it was not measured correctly. They ripped the woodwork around the door and did not fix it correctly. They gave me some money off the job but I was very unhappy.

Called their office early Thursday morning after finding no hot water. Got a call back within the hour and a quote for a same day noon appointment to replacing the heater. The technicians came and removed the old water heater and replace the new one within 1 1/2hrs.

They were fantastic. They showed up the next morning, we told them we had to be outside of the house at 8, and they came at 6:30. We were really happy with them and would definitely use them again.

They are very responsive and very reliable. They always do a good job and get the job done quickly. They are very helpful and very responsive. It's very easy to schedule a time for them to come and do work.

After calling several other companies that didn't work out, Trethewey was wonderful. They explained what was wrong and what needed to be corrected, they then set up another company to actually fix the issue. I would use them again.

I called Thursday stating the above scope of work, explaining it was a Runtal and the proximity of the fin tube. I was quoted a $44 dollar service fee and quoted a $44 dollar per person per hour fee. You arrived on Friday, the person you sent could not do this type of install, he said he would sent someone on Saturday. You arrived promptly on Saturday, one fellow, named Mike. He said he did not have the plastic pipes to do the job, he said he could come back on Monday with the right parts...how come the first person did not tell him what he needed. Mike arrived on Monday, with a helper, I did not seem to think it was a two man job. I was billed 4.5 hours for two guys to do this project, three times they made connections, three times it leaked. This was the breakdown I got today: 4.5 hours of two guys at $132 = $594. Parts of $120 (it was about 5' of plastic tubing, 4 connections, and two chrome sleeves) this is about $40 worth of stuff! This totals $714.

It went well. Two guys came--they were quick, clean, and did the job as instructed. We've never been disappointed by the T-brothers.

Originally we planned to replace the tub but through neither of our faults we could not due to neighbors and bylaws. They charged me two hours of office work toward that effort. *Update: An Angies List Customer Service Associate contacted Trethewey Brothers by e-mail and requested the copy of the written contract Trethewey claimed the customer had broken. Trethewey did not reply and failed to provide Angies List a copy of the alleged contract they claimed justified their charging the customer for their back-office administrative and/or sales staff time. Trethewey's failure to provide a copy of the contract is consistent with the customer's claim that there never was a contract to justify the Trethewey overcharge for non-plumbing (administrative) labor.

Saturday morning I discovered the hot water heater was leaking. When I called between 8 and 9, the person said they weren't sure if they could get someone to me today. Another person called back in 1/2 hour and said the plumber would be there shortly. They were done by 11:00. Great service, and the guys were very pleasant.

They were clean, efficient, and friendly. They came in, I described the job (as our plans changed dramatically since the original quote), they got to work, and were finished before I knew it.

It went well, it cost more than I hoped but they got it done in one day and were really good about cleaning up as well.

Very satisfied. We were given a general estimated arrival time, and then a call 30-45 minutes before the plumbers actually arrived (that was specific enough for us, since we had scheduled the work on a day someone would be home). All work was done very competently from a mechanical/plumbing standpoint. In addition, a sink and faucet set had to be replaced in a finished bathroom, and the plumber worked with latex gloves to keep the wallpaper clean. Pricing was fair, with three particular positive comments. First, time was recorded fairly. Second, the work carried over into a second day, but there was no travel charge for the second day. Third, there was a two-man team (a plumber and an apprentice) on the first day. Without any fuss, Trethewey deducted time when the apprentice was not able to be involved due to the nature of some of the work. This is the first time we've used Trethewey -- all in all, a very professional operation and positive experience.

I've had Trethewey Bros. do work for me several times over the past 10 years. It's always easy to call them. They have people who answer the phones and man the office, who are pleasant and professional on the phone and quickly set up an appointment to replace my old water heater. They work quickly and clean up afterward and if there ever is a problem, they address it. There were two plumbers (one possible an apprentice). The senior one was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. When interrupted by the woman in the next townhouse, they pleasantly checked out the water heater and answered her questions. Although it wasn't an emergency, she had them come out the next day to replace her water heater as well. They may not be the least expensive plumber, but they aren't the most expensive either, and I have complete confidence in the work they do.

Trethewey Brothers Inc. came quickly and got my problem fixed efficiently. It is hard to find plumbing companies who will come quickly for small repair jobs like this. I thought the man was very nice and professional. He didn't make a mess for me. I thought the price was fine.

I like this company because I can call them and they come right to me. I never have to wait and I can just count on them because they are reliable. The reliability factor is what I like best about them I would say. They do a good job of me and they are the usual company I use for my heating and A/C work. I would recommend them.

They have done a lot of very small jobs for us and we think they are excellent. They are expensive, but they always get the job right the first time. They are very convenient for us because they are located right around the corner. This company is established for over 100 years. They are fast and incredibly professional.

The project was coordinated well with the other contractors. They had a strong work ethic and showed up on time and completed the project. They were very neat and clean about the work. The clean up was great.

They had to come back a second time. He tightened the screw and everything works fine now. I asked the plumber if there would be a charge since this was for the same issue and he said it was up to the office.

That caused a leak that was doing damage to my garage ceiling to end. I've been working with them since 1969.

Excellent! I noticed the leak on a Sunday and called to ask what to do. Bob called back in a short time and told me to set it on vacation mode and arranged for a service call first thing the next day. Plumber arrived at 6:30 a.m., called to determine that my current heater was off warranty, and ordered the new one. The whole job was done by about 9:00 a.m., and I was barely even late for work. The price seemed fair but I have no basis of comparison.

Excellent! Very professional. Cleaned up after each day. Very nice workman. They thoroughly explained each step of the project.

I do not remember what they charged to replace my toilet without consulting my records. I do know it was fair and reasonable. We will continue to give them our business.
