the company employs many plumbers but i always ask for donny. he is a terrific plumber who diagnoses and solves problems quickly. his work is always perfect and he tries to keep the price as low as possible.

I have a lot of experience with Trethewey Bros. They have yet to disappoint me as to their quality of work, reasonable cost of product and labor performed. They are prompt, and on the day of the job, they call you to let you know that they are on their way over. The help is very professional and friendly, and will address all of of your concerns. I am not in any way hesitant in calling them for any of my plumbing problems.

We had some ideas of what we were looking for in a boiler and, more importantly, in the contractor. From information gathered on a number of forums (ThatHomeSite forum, HeatingHelp.com for the advice/experience of heating contractors and home owners) the message was clear that the choice of a contractor you can work with is as, or possibly more important than the specific equipment installed. From the first conversation to schedule a visit for an estimate we were impressed with how Trethewey Bros. worked with us on this major project. Mike, who came to meet with us, was also the person who would be doing the installation, and was both knowledgeable about this type of boiler and able to clearly answer our specific concerns. Bob T., who I spoke with numerous times on the phone, talked to me quite a bit about this type of boiler and their enthusiasm for the brand I specifically asked about, the Triangle Tube Prestige. I appreciated his honesty with the fact they had not installed this brand before, but had installed other "mod/con" boilers, and was able to provide referrals for two of these installations. I was also reassured to hear their main heating guy had gone to the company's headquarters in Belgium and was impressed with the company and the product. Bob was concerned that we have enough hot water from this combination boiler/14-gallon indirect hot water heater unit (The Excellence), but I was convinced this would match our modest hot water needs. Installation was one long day, and two short follow-ups that quickly corrected small problems. They have offered to help with submitting warranty paperwork as well as the documentation to receive the substantial MassSave rebates for the boiler and programmable thermostat, as well We have been enjoying plenty of hot water, and look forward to documenting our savings in heating costs. Great experience from start to finish.

They sent out an estimator who provided the estimate based on what their technicians told them. They also provided us with the cost of each option, and the pros and cons of each, with no detectable preference to the most expensive option. We scheduled the service after an unusually short condo trustee meeting (the meeting was short because of the clarity of T.Brother's plan and options), and the work began. They were within their quote, and finished very quickly.

Two men came to install the stack W&D with overflow tray. The tray was the wrong size and so It did not get put in. They had to work with existing gas line. All went well the expense seems like a lot of money. Neat and orderly. No gripes or complaints. Overall, I think they are a very good company to deal with.

Fine. They were prompt, courteous, and very diligent. When the first two attempts to install the toilet were unsuccessful they were very thorough in eliminating variables. I'll definitely have them handle our plumbing needs again.

They came right away, explained why it had broken and what we needed to do to prevent it in the future. While they were at our house, they looked at some plumbing problems we had, diagnosed them quickly and even fixed one issue on the spot. They were courteous, friendly and professional and we enjoy doing business with them. They are the only people I call now when we have a problem.

It went very well. Their teams are always personable and professional.

I had an excellent experience working with them. It was very straight forward. They h ave been our plumbers for years and they are great.

There were problems with this job, but all were eventually resolved. Problems included: - The contractor neglected to remove coating residue from manufacturing on the inside of the new boiler, resulting in surging. The problem caused residents to be without heat or hot water on several occasions until it was corrected. - The main objective of the re-piping was to eliminate condensate build-up in the supply pipes, causing water hammer and leaks. After the installation, water hammer in one part of the system was worse, causing continued noise and damage to steam traps, until the problem was corrected. - Steam traps damaged due to water hammer have resulted in steam bypassing the traps and venting into the basement. This problem has been corrected. - The contractor located a new condensate return pump underneath a bedroom. The pump was so noisy that it had to be relocated at our expense. - The combustion air intake fan has failed on several occasions, due to faulty relay or icing, resulting in no heat or hot water. Additionally, it ran continuously for several months due to a relay failure, causing high electric bills. For a while, the contractor was not very responsive in correcting the problems. It was explained later that this was due primarily to a death in the family (and this is a family owned and operated business).

Allegedly, some cleaning and adjustmentwas performed for which there was no witness. However, they left a note saying that the unit needs to be serviced by the owner. Since these adjustments, the boiler is not working properly anymore. The companyn had installed the boiler for the previous owner several years ago and installed recently a Honeywell heat controller, thus, should be familiar with the system.

Our 14 year old water heater, installed 10 years ago by the same company, sprung a leak. I called several companies to get a replacement quote that night. Tretheway Bros was the only company able to provide an immediate quote and schedule an appointment for first thing the following morning. They called to let me know when the plumbers were on the way, showed up on time, and completed the job in a half hour.

The fellow who came out was very good and fast. He creatively figured out how to solve the issue that I was having and save me money on the repair. He cleaned up after himself well. He was on time the day of the estimate, however no one showed up for the original appointment. I took the day off of work and I did not get a phone call until about ten minutes after the window that they gave me to let me know that they were not going to come. They were a little expensive for the service.

The plumber arrived promptly and was very nice, but it all went downhill from there. Upon seeing our boiler, he said: "Oh, that's an advanced one. I might have to get another guy over here. I'm just a plumber, and they send me out only for basic issues." He had to call a crew chief to walk him through the complexities of the boiler (and of course all the while the clock is ticking -- on my dime). After 10 minutes, he was still not able to figure out what was going on. In fact, here's our precise conversation: M: "Why does the boiler keep shutting off intermittently?" P: "It's just like a car. Sometimes the car looks like it's doing fine until you go to start it and it doesn't work." M: [Blank face.] P: "It's just luck of the draw." M: "But there's no reason it keeps shutting off?" M: "It could be this panel, which you can replace for $$$$." A: "But we don't know if it's this panel?" M: "No." The guy then proceeds to "check on" the rest of the heating system, which from what I can tell was his way of drawing out the appt. to over a half hour so that he could charge more. P: "I've been here for 3/4 of an hour, so that'll be $135." M: "It's actually only been 35 minutes; 10 of which you spent on the phone trying to figure out what to do." P: "Sorry, we round up." After all this aggravation, our boiler still doesn't work. After some researching on the internet, I figured out what is wrong with the boiler and will be getting another plumbing and heating company to repair it. Since Trethewey installed the boiler, they should have known which boiler it was and sent over a guy who was actually familiar with the system. And if they didn't know, they could have asked. When I call a professional, I expect a professional, not someone who needs to call someone else to figure out what to do; I could have done that.

They always come out when they tell me that they will. They are very responsive. They have always provided me with good estimates. I like that they clean up after themselves. The price is a little bit higher than I would like, however they always do very good work when they come out.

I tried to re-build a leaky kitchen faucet and in the process of disassembling, it broke. Called Trethewey Bros. and they had someone at my house first thing in the morning. I purchased a new faucet which they intsalled. Also had him adjust a catch in another sink. Job was done right and left the area clean, taking old faucet away as well. I have used T-Bros. in the past and would not hesitate to use again.

They do a good job. They are very responsive and punctual. They always come right out when I call them. Their prices are comparable to other plumbers. I have been pleased with their service.

The gas had to be turned off, then turned back on once the countertop was installed. This company handled this. While they were here, (things were going south with another contractor) I had them take a look at a wall mounted gas heater. My contractor had told me it was junk, I needed it replaced. This company saved me a lot of money, also telling me that it was just fine. It has worked like a champ since! Cost is approximate hourly rate.

This company outperformed all the others so much that I felt compelled to write this report. Before the T Brothers I had other 2 companies from Angies list , and another one from the oil company that I am sign up with, come over and take a look at my problem. All of them were able to figure out what was wrong with my heating system and tell me the same diagnosis. But it bothered me that each one had their own different solution to it. l went on and let the oil company's plumber do the job, they tried shortening one section of the pipe to get the right pitch, which it did not work. So when the T Brothers' technician Billy Carter came and started explaining in a coherent way why those other solutions would not work, everything made sense and I knew I had the right guy for the job. Not only that, he went above and beyond in educating me, the homeowner, how to maintain the boiler and took a close look at the boiler to see if there were any problems. Granted that this is all time counted for the job, but to my surprise, when I got the bill, it was 40% less from all the estimates that was given to me by the others. Billy was superb, knew what he was talking about, knew what he was doing, did exactly what he planned and the outcome was exactly what was expected. He was fast, his job was clean and neat. I will be hiring this company for future jobs.

I called Sunday and they called right back and scheduled an appt. for 8am, Monday. They showed up before 8, did the job and it's working fine.

This is a good company. The work they did was good. They left some dirtiness behind which I didn't appreciate though. There was a scheduling mix up at first, too. But they did their best to correct it. They missed the first appointment because of the mix up so they came out the next day. They are slightly on the expensive side but not outrageous. They were very helpful in saving us as much money as they could through rebates though. In the future I would ask them more questions because they didn't volunteer much information so some of the after effects were a surprise. But I would use them again.

About 2 days after they installed it, it exploded. Another plumbing company came out and said it was a used cartridge not new. When the original plumber was here doing the repair, the job was supposed to be done in a half hour but it took him three and a half hours because the plumber had never worked with this system. I called to let them know of the faulty part and the man was rude and swore at me on the phone. He said they wouldn't refund any of the money.

Fred and the other staff member who I spoke to were professional and very helpful. I appreciate that they were able to look at my needs and their work load and recognize that it was more useful to refer me to someone else.

They were excellent. They put a computer on it for me, so if there is ever a leak, it will stop it for me. They are top notch. They do plumbing, electricians, etc. They are really great. They come when they say they will come. They are not cheap, but they are top quality.

They are a great company. They are expensive, but they are reliable and local. They are right around the corner from me. I have used them before, and it has always been a really good experience. They have a really good dispatch. They have a fleet of guys that come too, and they are great guys. They have lots of people working there so they are very flexible. They have been in business forever, and they are very organized.
