METRO INSULATION INC

It was very good and I have no complaints. They showed up when they were supposed to. They were communicative about when they would do it. The front person was easy to talk to. He came with the forms and helped us fill them out. He was a nice person to deal with.

I called and left a message requesting an estimate. I didn't get a call back until 2 days later. Metro said they would come by the house on a Monday to look and leave an estimate in the mailbox. They never came by or called. In the meantime I had heard back from their competitor promptly so I hired the other company.

The process was excellent. They showed up when they said they would and finished when they said they would. While they took shingles off the side of the house, there was no way to know which ones they did. Their price was in line with the other bids. They asked the right questions and even when asked about doing a bigger job by doing parts of the inside of the house. They suggested avoiding it since it was a very dirty process. They also pointed out a crawlspace I had not noticed and was able to do the insulation there quite easily. Finally they brought and filled out part of the form for receiving a rebate from the power company. A great job all around.

The guys showed up on time and got started right away. They spent the entire day working and finished that day. The results were immediate as the heat needed to be turned down!

Scott came by within a week to give an estimate of the work. He looked through each room that required insulation and was very thorough. He explained how the work would be done, how much disruption it would cause and what needed to be done in advance to prepare for the work. Scott also agreed to at no exra charge to blow cellulose into the basement ceiling/wall to insulate underneath the breezeway. Scott's crew showed at at the date and time scheduled. And they finished the work on time within a day. They cleaned up after themselves relatively well. There were some clumps of insulation in the closet that they missed and some in the front yard. But overall, they did a nice job vacuuming up the extra cellulose. Overall, Metro Insulation did an excellent job. I highly recommend them!

Very well. Scott came to give an estimate. During that time he found things around the spaces that needed attending to (a chewed wire in the attic) and noted other things we didn't know (that we had a roof vent) which we are happy to know about now. He told us what Metro could and couldn't do, gave us an estimate, a brochure of the materials his company uses, and a web site to read further. We called to make an appointment to have the insulation put in. Due to the heavy rains, his work got backed up so we had to reschedule two or three times, but Scott always called to keep us updated. They finally came on a Saturday, which was fine with us. The two workmen were very courteous, thoughtful, professional, and knowledgeable. They did a superb job, and also pointed out things on the exterior of the house that we need to attend to that we weren't aware of. We very much appreciated the extra information.

Scott came when he said he would, gave an estimate, and conducted the work in a timely manner. His men were highly professional.

Very good! Scott gave me an estimate and was able to schedule me soon once I agreed to go ahead. His workers left nails all around the perimeter of the house, and he said he would send them back to clean them up. (I did get a flat tire from a nail soon after the work, but I don't know if there was a connection because I didn't get the nail in the tire back.)

Very positive experience. Scott Gosse came to the house shortly after my initial phone call and dropped off an estimate. They were able to schedule the job within a week. His work crew was polite, efficient, flexible (they had to work around the frozen snow from the last storm), and knowledgeable. They were careful to make sure my pets did not escape, and they cleaned up well after completing the job. The crew also helped me fill out the energy rebate form, which they submit directly to utility company.

I called and left a detailed message with 3 different phone numbers, times when we could schedule him to come for an estimate. I did not get a call back until 3 days later. In the call he said he would come on Saturday, at some time, and call first before he came. He never called or never showed. My husband was home all day waiting for him, but he never even made an effort to call and leave a message to tell us he was not coming.

They were very responsive and fast working. They originally told us it would take about a day and a half, and it did. They cleaned up very well after themselves.

Scott was responsive to my calls before the job was done. The quality of the actual insulation work seems good, but of course it's hard to tell really until you get the heating bill for a real, cold winter. There were several ancillary problems, though: 1. The workmen knocked over my tenant's jade plant, breaking off a branch and leaving the plant and a pile of dirt on the floor. 2. They left black smudges all over the recently-repainted walls. 3. The workmen failed to reattach the drain hose on the tenant's washing machine after they moved it, resulting in a leak. It would have been much more serious had my tenant not stayed around to watch. 4. They failed to reattach the dryer vent after they moved the dryer. 5. They didn't move the appliances back into position when they were finished. 6. We think they spilled my tenant's 2 gallon jug of detergent. It is now missing, the old carpet in the room foams when rinsed, and furniture was splattered. 7. They have not returned my call.

Metro gave us a fair bid and was one of the few willing to blow in cellulose rather than fiberglass insulation. They came when promised, worked fast and carefully. There was very little cleanup when they were finished. They had to drill into a few areas and plug them with wooden plugs. They ran out of the wooden plugs in a few places so used temporary foam ones, but Metro came back out and replaced these with wooden plugs as soon as they got them in. We were very pleased with Metro's work and are looking forward to enjoying a warm cozy house this winter as a result of their efforts. We would recommend them highly.

They did the most of the work on the first day, and finished up on the second.

I contacted Scott based on the extremely positive feedback from other members on Angie's List as well as another contractor who does exterior siding and had seen Metro Insulation's work before. I must say those reports were right on: the estimate was accurate and the work was performed on time. After the work was performed I had some trouble with the electricity on the third floor of the house and Scott sent his electrician to fix the issue, which had more to do with bad wiring than the work performed. Metro Insulation went above and beyond in every aspect of the job. I strongly recommend them.

Scott, the owner, came out to our house for the initial quote. He was thorough and knowledgeable. The inital quote was $2500 but assumed that the entire house was uninsulated. When I was able to determine from the previous owner that some of the house was insulated, Scott happily readjusted the quote down. Kenny was the young man who came to our house to do the work. He was professional and on time. Kenny even reassembled the floor boards in our attic that had been pulled up before we moved in so that wires and pipes could be run.

Day one of a two day job was postponed due to rain. Scott brought in a second crew to get the job done in one day. All the workers were friendly and respectful of my working at home and needing noise from the job kept at a minimum. I never sought a second quote on price so I don't know if they were the cheapest but I wanted someone local with good references. Good experience, overall. I would recommend them to anyone needing insulation work.

They were terrific. We were beginning a siding/construction job and Jim was very accommodating in getting the insulation job done quickly so that the siding/construction project could move ahead as scheduled. The crew was quick and efficient and patiently answered all of my questions. Also, I had instructed the crew not to insulate the roof of the front porch because I thought it was going to be demolished as part of the siding/construction project. When the carpenter for the siding/construction company informed me that the existing porch roof would remain, Jim had the crew come back and insulated the porch roof for us at no additional cost (even though it was my error that had caused the roof not to be insulated on the initial visit). I would highly recommend this company.

They were terrific, timely and helped fill out the paper work for our rebate. I have no way to gauge their price, but it seemed very reasonable. They were a very friendly crew. They cleaned up after they left. No noticeable damage to siding and paint. I would definitely recommend them.

It was just about a perfect experience! Scott returned my call promptly and had an estimate the next day. Less than a week later, the work was done. The crew showed up on time, went over specifics of the job with me, and 7 hours later they had finished and nicely cleaned up. When a small issue arose (the drill accidentally hit an electrical cable) they fixed it in no time. They also processed the gas company rebate for me. Now the house feels cool and comfortable in hot muggy weather. Can't wait to see my savings this Winter!

Our experience with Metro Insulation was great. Scott came to the house, toured the areas with me and provided an estimate on the spot. He was knowledgeable and gave me some advice about the job. His estimate was very fair compared to the two other estimates that I obtained. The workmen arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. The men cleaned up well and the insulation has made a big difference in the warmth of my house.

Scott Gosse returned my call on a late Friday afternoon the next day. He came over for an estimate that Monday, and I was impressed by his experience as he was speculating if our kitchen had already been blown in (he deduced it had been remodeled many years ago, and his workers found it had already been done when they were performing the work.) Because Metro had a last-minute cancellation they came by that Wednesday morning, five days after the original call, as it was snowing. They completed most of the work that day, taking care to note if/when insulation was bleeding into the house. It did in the unfinished attic space, and they cleaned up the mess and further asked if their clean-up was satisfactory. They finished the job the next day, further deducting the cost of two of the three third floor sides that must have been insulated when that part of the third floor was finished. They additionally left a duct blanket to cover our basement door to help prevent drafts.

After a personal recommendation from a close friend, we decided to go with Scott Gosse and Metro over another contractor AND ARE VERY GLAD THAT WE DID! We received very prompt, courteous, and professional service from the initial call for a quote to the final sweep around the house by the work crew. We felt the results immediately and have seen a huge drop in our heating bills as a result. A first class job all round. I cannot understand the sub A ratings from earlier reports, but note that they were NOT BASED on the completed job. All those who had the work done appear to be 2005 or later and all A rated. A STRONG RECOMMENDATION FROM ARLINGTON MA.
