at least 3 other reviewers gave him an F for the same reason i did: he ran off with my money, $800 for materials. i haven't seen him since and in the last two weeks, he hasn't responded to my call and email asking for my $800 back. he signed a receipt for the money and cashed the check. gary started working for me more than 5 years ago and i was always thrilled with his work. he did 5 different jobs that were easy to major. i called him in feb to have 3 jobs done. he came over, said he could do them and asked for $800 for materials. because of his work over the years as well as what needed to be done i thought that was reasonable and gave $800 to him. we made our first appt. and he had to reschedule. this went on for march, april, and may. as one F reviewer said "his excuses were novel" and they were: "my mechanic said i need to have xyz fixed before i can drive my car or it will. . . ", "my dog is sick and i was up all night', and the best "my brother's girlfriend committed suicide and i'm going to see him because i'm worried about him" and then the usual ones. in june i guess i came out of my trusting mood and called only to have his machine tell me it erased my message. next time it took it and after 3 weeks no word. i wrote an email and again nothing. i went back and read his reviews because his answer to complaints is always "i have 142 A reviews etc etc." someone asked me if i thought he wrote all the A reviews. who knows. well he uses review figures that go back to 2007 and now it's 10 years later. here's the breakdown, 1) for the years 2007-2013 he has 90 A reviews 2) in the same period he has 1 D and 11 F reviews BUT 3) for the years 2014-2017, which i consider current, he had 52 A reviews 4) for the same period he has 6 D and 31 F reviews. Years 2007-13 represents 7 years and current is only 4 years BUT as you can see it only took 4 years for his total D and F combined to go from 12 DF to 37 DF which is triple the 2007-13 nos. HIS A reviews went from 90-52 but maybe these are time sensitive, more A's as time goes on? but negative numbers can only increase or stay the same as 2017 progresses. looks like whatever is up is going downhill fast so i would think twice, maybe three times before hiring him.
Description of Work: 3 projects:exterior hard wired lights, bathroom light/heater,and new porch light with 2 new switches for it.

I will never recommend anyone hiring Gary. He simply wants money and run away with it.
Description of Work: I wanted to upgrade my Electrical service from 100 amp to 200 amp. I paid Gary an advance and also bought all the material. Gary suggested that he will carry material in his car and bring it back on the day of work. It was May/24/2015. Since then, I had been calling and most of the time he does not respond. When he does respond, all he has to say is he is very busy or Sick or family is going through tough times etc etc. He never started the work. Since, 2 months. He stopped picking up my calls.

Gary was very responsive even though I called him up on Saturday and he had never done any work for us in the past. We managed to avoid requiring a Saturday repair but he came on Monday and properly repaired the boiler switch. The switch to the boiler had been removed during some wall repairs and the old wire snapped off right at the metal sheathing. Gary managed to get some slack out of the wire in the basement and not have to replace the entire run (which saved time and money). It only took an hour and he didn't require us to pay for a minimum number of hours which was great. I would definitely use Gary again for any electrical work around the house.
Description of Work: Gary repaired a broken wire in the switch to my boiler. The wire had snapped off at the metal sheath.

Gary stopped by the day after I called him to give an estimate for the job. He set up a date for the job and though he needed to change the timeframe, came on the day scheduled and completed the work. He's a friendly, sincere man and answered all questions during the job. Because he arrived later than planned, he gave us a break on the price. I appreciated his fairness.
Description of Work: Installed two chandelier fixtures, including improvising to make a dining room fixture hang at the appropriate height; installed a dimmer and phone jack.

Excellent! Gary responded to my email request with a prompt phone call and answered my questions. When I had the light fixture in hand, I called Gary and he came over the very next morning. He was quick, efficient, personable, and left the bathroom immaculate. Would definitely call him again.

This was probably the most pleasant experience that I have had in hiring someone to come into my home and do some work. Gary was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. I could tell he cared about his work and also cared that the customer understood what he was doing., My only hangup is that when I attempted to contact him later to have him do more work, I never heard back from him.

He has just been great. He had mixed reviews, which was surprising because he was just absolutely wonderful, here. He is really great. He is fabulous. He made it free because I had a problem with a light and he said it was not an electrical problem, it had a little dust that needed cleaning, he cleaned it and the light came on. So he didn’t take any money for me because he was only there for about five minutes, so I sent him a card with a $100 to be nice, because he has been so nice. He does an excellent job. He is a really good, experienced electrician, so he knows everything. What I find with a lot of the people who are recent electricians is that they are good with new homes but not with older homes. I have an antique home, so somebody has to know the old stuff too. He is probably about fifty, not real old or anything but he is knowledgeable about everything. I really liked him. He has been late a couple of times but that was fine with me because he was here all day. He is the first electrician that I have ever known to come in with his credentials and he flips open his book so you can see what your certifications are and everything. I have never had any electrician do that before and he is very professional.
Description of Work: I found an electrician from Angie’s List. I have used him many times over the summer, when I was getting my house ready to sell it, so I was using him a lot.

He did good work but he didn't keep his schedule very well. I wouldn't necessarily use them again due to the scheduling issues.

Total waste of time. The first time I tried calling him, he didn't answer and his voicemail was full, not a good sign. When I finally got him on the phone a week later, he told he he was scheduling for "the week after next," which I said was fine. I said just call me when you're ready to schedule. Never heard from him. Three weeks later he told me that he was scheduling about four weeks out, and hadn't gotten back to me because he didn't want to give me "unreasonable expectations." He then proceeded to stop answering my messages altogether. I had purchased a deal for his services through Craigslist, and had to go through them to get my money back after essentially being refused service, which was a huge pain since they normally only offer refunds for up to one month, at which point this guy was still jerking me around.

I have used Gary Ferzoco as our electrician for many years and once again the quality of his work is the best! He is responsible, detail-oriented and cleans up after himself. This was a huge job (over 1,000 sq. ft.) that included de-activating all the old wiring, running all new wire and updating the panel plus recessed lights, new outlets, switches and ceiling fans. Electrically, the place was a mess! Gary managed it all, the inspections, working with other trades persons, the schedule and the budget! Don't know how he did it but we've started on the next apartment and he's on the job! I'm thankful he's on my crew!!!
Description of Work: Gary removed the old knob and tube wiring on a three bedroom apartment and brought the electrical up to code.

It didn't go. I reached out multiple times. When I finally was able to connect with Gary, he said he would call back and didn't for 2 weeks. I just cancelled and am asking for our money back.

I purchased "Buy It Now" promotion for two hours of electrical service work from the provider for light fixture installations on 05/26/14 for $125. I suggested several possible scheduling dates for him. After leaving multiple voicemails and emails, we agreed upon an installation date of 07/26/14. The provider did not show up for the appointment and when I called the provider the phone went immediately to voicemail, I have I made it more than clear to the provider that if the services were not performed on the agreed upon date negative feedback would be left. I am giving the provider the benefit of the doubt in that he is overbooked. The reality is that even if this is true the work did not get done; my time was wasted; and I now need to start a new search for a competent electrician. Buyer beware.

Gary was extremely professional. When he entered our home, he introduced himself and shared his credentials. After I walked him through the house and explained the issue he quickly began problem solving. Within 15 minutes he had figured out the problem and explained to us what work needed to be completed. He worked quickly and when he was finished, he walked me through what he had done and recommended follow up repairs. Gary was extremely knowledgable, friendly and efficient. He was great with our kids and our dog. We will definitely be calling Gary back to work in our home!
Description of Work: Gary got the lights working in three rooms in our home. We previously had two other electricians come out and they were unable to problem solve why our lights were out. Gary figured out the issue in 15 minutes and was able to successfully get light restored to our rooms.

After playing telephone tag for a week or so, Mr. Ferzoco and I spoke on the phone. He agreed to an appointment for Tuesday, July 1, at 2:30pm. That day I left work early to be home for the appointment. Mr. Ferzoco did not show, nor did he telephone. Around 4pm I called him and left a message on his voice mail. He did not call back. A couple of days later I called him again and left another message. Again, he did not return my call. I have not heard from him since. I do hope that he is well.

.I worked with Gary to methodically locate the problem by tracing the ground from the outlets back to the main panel. Eventually we located the problem - it was a faulty wire from a junction box in the basement to an outlet in the kitchen. Gary indicated he was not prepared to break into a wall at this time and he agreed to come back around the end of June to complete the job. Up to this point there was no problem with Gary or his work. When it came time to finish the job my daughter contacted Gary and made arrangements to meet him at her condo to finish the job. She drove 2 hours to the condo and waited for Gary at the agreed upon time. Gary didn't show up. My daughter waited another 45 minutes and eventually called Gary. Gary answered the phone and said he 'overslept'. He wanted to reschedule, but my daughter wanted the work done as he had promised on the day they agreed to. Gary said he would call her back and terminated the call. My daughter called back several times, leaving voice messages and texts with no response from Gary. She waited awhile and eventually left, driving 2 hours back to her home. She had to locate another electrician and explain the work that Gary had left half done and pay another $200.00 to finish the job.Roslindale
Description of Work: Gary was contracted to repair some electrical outlets which were not properly grounded. This work was being done at my daughter's condo during a time when she had just delivered a baby. She was also in the process of completing the sale of her condo where this work was being done and she was then living 2 hours away from the site. I am her father and I was responsible for showing Gary the problem outlets and assist in any way I could.

Gary was punctual, professional, and focused on the task at hand. He quickly diagnosed the problem, checked all of the connections for the smoke detectors, and explained what needed to be replaced. I was able quickly to purchase what was needed, and he installed the new equipment efficiently. He also pointed out some maintenance issues that I hadn't known. I would definitely call him again.
Description of Work: Gary addressed two problems: a broken doorbell and malfunctioning smoke detectors, which had been going off without cause.

It went extremely well! Gary and I set up a Sunday morning meeting to review the scope of the job and arranged for the job to begin on a day later in the week. He arrived, finished the upstairs work and began the basement work. He returned in a reasonable time to complete the job. I am very happy with the quality of the work performed and recommend him very highly.

I understand being busy. I don't understand not following up with customers in a professional and timely fashion. "F" for you, Gary!!!
Description of Work: I bought the Angies list deal for two hours of electrical work. When I bought the deal AngiesList allowed me to specify three times for an appointment to give to the provider. I also noted I was flexible on the timing. I got an email from the provider asking me to call to set up an appointment. I called and left a message. My phone call was never returned. After a week I called Angieslist and asked for a refund.
