24/7 Locksmith

There is a corrupt locksmith organization in this area, and there have been a number of investigations done. They are constantly changing their names and that is a part of what they do. I don’t know how one would communicate that, but I had a terrible experience with one of these organizations. They charged me about 5 times what they originally told me to change the lock in my house. When I went back to find their names, they had disappeared from the internet. I don’t know what to say about that, it was called goose something locksmiths, they had bunch of phone numbers on the internet, and they change their names all the time. They have some answering machine system. According to the investigators, they appear to be Russians expats. There isn’t a way to help people to be more aware of the scam because finally I got a legitimate locksmiths and he told me that this happens all the time. I had three names for the same crooked locksmiths and if I call there they tell you one thing and the guy would show up and it would be an entirely different price. If you are unaware what these things should cost you, one would pay it. It has been reported to attorney general. The 24/7 Locksmith is one of them. The other name was 365 days or something. On the phone when I asked how much it would take to do each cylinder, she said $29, because she thought I just needed to replace some cylinders in the lock. It turned out to be well over $300. And then he was going to come back again to do a third lock for me, I started researching it, and I realized I had been completely ripped off . I also asked for some kind of legitimate receipt, because I was supposed to be reimbursed for this by the previous owners of my house, and I never got a legitimate receipt. When I called the number, she said the supervisor will be speaking to me and arranging to give me a receipt. In fact I never heard from a supervisor. Someone called me eventually to check if the guy named Nicolay a Russian came to my house, that was the extent of that and I never got the explanation why I was charged so much money. It was $29 fee for them to come to my house, and it was going to be a similar amount for the cylinder. I still have the handwritten receipt that this guy submitted to me. The receipt said, Mr. Lock, and I asked what it is because I had dialed 365 Locksmiths something. He said that it is just the general company and I asked for the official letter head, because I wanted to know whom I going to deal with if something goes wrong. I have that receipt but unfortunately I have two houses and I am not at the house where I have the receipt. That was supposed to be Mr. Lock which I could never find on the internet. I think he would set it up at that moment. I never got the official letter so I never got a reimbursement. And actually when I told my house owners what I paid they immediately believed that I was trying to rip them off or I had been ripped off. I should have begun by saying, the whole goal was to make 2 cylinders of the same key and that was the purpose of it, it was not rocket science. I wanted to make both cylinders work with one key, I only had a key for one of them and that was all he had to do for $350. The guy also said, I can’t accept credit card and can only accept cash and that’s the way they work. I said whom I going to make the check payable to and he said make it payable to him. That’s when I became really suspicious. If his company is 365 locks or 24/7 locks why I am I writing a check for this guy personally. I needed some record and I absolutely refused to do that. If anyone discovers it’s crooked then they should ask for legitimate receipt. The whole think was totally weird. The one thing that they did do is they fixed the lock and these are simple lock issues. They did come quickly they came within the 45minutes that they said they are going to. They completely ripped me off. The quality of work was okay.

I had them coming out twice in March. Their service fee was good. When I phoned, the availability was prompt. I needed the service ASAP and that is why I went with them. They were very professional and knowledgeable about different types of locks. They were very good. The timing with the locksmiths is different because sometimes they are on a job. It may take them little longer than anticipated. When they tell me a certain time, the result may not be on time. The person who came out was late; but he did call me to let me know that he was going to be very late. It was a different gentle man the second time. He was extremely prompt and he was very good; but that was late at night. It was an emergency that I had to call them and it was pretty late at that night. Their service is very good. I was pleased with them.
