In July/August of 2011 Northeastern Painting and Restoration painted the entire exterior of my house. The job was started and completed (more or less) on time, and for the first few months the house looked great. It actually looked so good that my next door neighbors hired N. P. R. to paint their house the next summer. In February of 2012 - 6 short months after my house had been painted, the owner of N.P.R., Joaquim DaFonseca contacted me as below (excerpt from email) "Jill, Hope all is well! I am working at your neighbors Rita's house and noticed you got your new door and basement windows installed; they look great. I also noticed a couple of spots on the house were the paint has failed; it seems to have occured in several areas where we used a patching material. We will be working on the exterior of Rita's house this summer and when do so these areas will be adressed. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Joaquim DaFonseca, Jr." The original painting job came with a 3-year warranty, and I was very pleased that Joaquim was following through and supporting this warranty. In the summer of 2012, while working on the exterior of my neighbor's house they did indeed fix the peeling areas of my house, as promised. Unfortunately over the following year (summer 2012 to summer 2013) more areas appeared where the patching material had failed with the result being large (2" x 4") flakes of paint coming off of my house. In the late summer of 2013 I contacted Joaquim and he assured me that he would come by and take care of it. That was two years ago. In the time since then I have contacted Joaquim multiple times about tho problem, and he has repeatedly told me that he would come by and fix the problem but he never has. After two years of asking Joaquim to deal with this situation and fulfill his company's warranty commitments I have given up. I am now hiring someone else to fix the problem. It is obvious to me that Northeastern Painting and Restoration's "3 year warranty" is only good as long as it is incredibly convenient for them to revisit your house. If they are not next door, you will not get any follow up support. Even if they are working on a house as little as a quarter mile away. For a couple of months while I was trying to get them to come repair the job to my house I would routinely walk my dog past a house in our neighborhood with their sign in the yard, which I must say added insult to injury. I do not like to give people bad reviews - most of the work done on my house was good - but when you offer a warranty you should support it. (Otherwise don't offer one!) And I am frustrated that I will be spending more money to fix this problem when it should have been addressed through the warranty.

Jack came out quickly to give us an estimate that was fair and right in the middle of the price range of other estimates. He started the job when he said he would and finished on time. He and his crew worked quietly while they were here. What I really appreciated was that he cleaned up every day, communicated well about when he would be working, and in general is an easy contractor to work with. Since painting the exterior (which looks GREAT) I have used him to do some interior painting as well. I would highly recommend him for any painting job!
