CORNERSTONE HOME INSPECTION

We've used Chip's services twice and both times been very pleased with his work. He was helpful when we had to reschedule a couple of times. He and his staff are always helpful and professional. The reports are prepared quickly and are clear and concise. He was very thorough and communicated with me throughout the process. Chip showed up on time, went through the house carefully and methodically. Everything was checked through thoroughly. For the house that we were buying he took the time to explain the mechanics of appliances and showed me where the filters were and how to replace them. He was extremely professional and kind.

Chip did a wonderful job with our inspection. He arrived before us and inspected the roof. He made sure to tell us everything he found and point out all of the problem areas. He had us walk around with him for the rest of the inspection and answered every question. My FIL was with us and had MANY questions - some which had already been answered, but Chip answered them again! We had our report the next day, complete with pictures and clearly worded descriptions. Chip quickly responded to our email requesting additional information. Chip is extremely knowledgeable, but also willing to state that he's not an expert in all areas and told us when we need to have a professional inspect certain things (such as a cracked chimney for a working fireplace). I would absolutely hire him again.

.I am disappointed with what was NOT done by Cornerstone Home Inspections: Failed to check the washing Machine OR dryer....Severe leak coming from the water valve that supplies the washing machine Failed to check if there was hot water present...No hot water available in the house due to a mixing valve. Failed to check the electric outlets on the kitchen counter...neither worked and had to be replaced. Refused to check central air. Said it was too cold to trn the unit on. Failed to inform me of two huge holes in the drywall near the baseboard heat where cold - freezing- air was coming into the house.

Chip is wonderful. He was there early, very friendly, and is a pleasure to talk with. We are first time home buyers, and he was happy to answer all of the and quot;dumband quot; questions that we had and give us practical advice of how to maintain the home and fix small issues. He was incredibly thorough. At the end of the inspection, he gave us a verbal summary of what he found. We received a PDF the next day with a full report with images detailing each problem and potential issue. One day later we got the results of a radon test, which gave the radon levels over 50 hours for each hour, and a written summary. I highly recommend him.

Chip did a thorough home inspection. We purchased a 1900 house and we were first time home buyers, so I was asking a lot of questions. Chip wanted us to follow him around and he was giving lots of detail as he went through the house. I feel the Chip did a good job preparing us for what repairs we should ask the sellers to do, and what we might want to do in the near term, and then what we should keep an eye on for a year or two down the road. After the inspection I had some follow-up questions about electrical, lead inspections (he does not do this) and a few other odds and ends. He had no problem taking calls for a total of 30 minutes after the inspection to answer my questions. I was very pleased with him and would use him again in the future.

Chip was thorough and knowledgeable while inspecting my soon to be purchased 2 family property. He was at the property before I was and had already began the inspection of the outside. He took his time to point out specifics and explain issues. I will recommend cornerstone and use them in the future.

Chip came out to inspect our home prior to purchase. We were very pleased (and our agent was quite impressed). He picked up the radon in the basement and water as well as vermiculite in the attic (hidden under the rest of the insulation and typically containing asbestos) as well as multiple other problems, small and large. All were fixed at the sellers expense. A detailed report with photos was emailed to us promptly, which was very helpful for coordinating repairs. The price listed includes pest inspection and radon testing as well as a second inspection after the work was complete. He helped us coordinate lead and well inspection and was very helpful overall. Would have no problems recommending him to others.
