Never returned my calls or emails.

Very well. Colm was very professional and well in-charge of his crew from start to finish. They arrived promptly when they said they would, and completed the job professionally over approx 5 days during a horrible spate of 100-degree weather interrupted intermittently by thunderstorms. Demo'd old steps and performed some prep the first day. Next several days, continued prep on walls and other brickwork while constructing stairs. Finished up, cleaned up, and did finish work on final day. Workmanship was of the finest quality. No complaints whatsoever. Very, very pleased with the exceptional end result and highly recommend them to others in need of masonry work.

Colm and his crew dismantled and rebuilt the main chimney on the front of our house, repaired a second chimney, installed new flashing, and installed two chimney caps. The work was done in a timely manner, by craftsmen who were distinguished not only by their skill but also their professionalism. The price was fair, and we are happy with the result. Colm and his crew showed up when they said they would, completed the work when they said they would, and cleaned up the yard afterwards. We very much appreciated their politeness and that they did not leave trash or cigarette butts in the yard (as other contractors have done). We also appreciate how Colm patiently explained things to us about the chimney construction and about other masonry projects around our house. We highly recommend him.

I was very pleased with the overall project. Mr. Costello provided us with excellent rcommendations on the best way to proceed with the project. They workers arrived as scheduled and completed the project on time. They identified some issues with some rotted wood under the front steps and repaired it at no additional charge. The workers were very professional and left the yard in perfect condition. It was a perfect job and a hassle free experience. Mr. Costello did not take payment until final inspection and approval of the quality of work by me and my wife. Outstanding !!!!

Great. John stuck to his estimate even though I think the job may have been bigger than he expected. Moreover, when I called him back to ask about a couple of very small spots that I thought could be strengthened, he came back and did even more than I asked of him, putting in another hour of work. He also responded promptly to all calls and emails (even when already paid) and always showed up exactly when he said he would. Also, a very friendly, polite guy who explains the job and costs effectively. Extremely reliable, professional and a good communicator. I don't see how you could do better.

After suffering much leakage in my basement during the spring rains of 2010, I contacted several firms about repairing the stone walls of my 120-year-old house. Colm Costello came when he said would and his estimate was well below the others and his description of what he would do was much more detailed. He also didn't try to sell me expensive additions, such as French drains, that would not have been worth the money in an old house. Colm warned that he wanted to do indoor jobs like mine after it was too cold to continue his outdoor work. That was fine with me. His crew finally appeared in January 2011 and were hard at work for three days, chipping out and replacing the old mortar and applying several coatings to the walls. They cleaned up pretty well after themselves, although a coating of fine dust had settled everywhere. The basement is unfinished so the dust was a minor problem to deal with. The walls they worked on look terrific. The spring rains have come and gone again, this time with no leaks.

I knew the the job was going to be high to repoint 2buildings but it was alot higher than I could afford -- I than asked for an estimate on repointing only on the spots of the buildings that needed it but so far no estimate -- otherwise it was good experience

Colm showed right up to provide an estimate, gave details on how to make the stairs fit the current building codes, noticed the basement wall needed fixing under the stairs, and ended up doing the work earlier than planned and was finished in one day. A pleasure to work with as he returns calls and actually seems to want some work!

Great, that's all I can say. Colim was unbelievably professional, punctual, honest, and courteous. A wonderful experience in every way. Chimney looks amazing, and the leaking ceiling in our bedroom has stopped.

We would highly recommend Colm Costello for your masonry project. Colm was very responsive to initial inquiry, promptly visited site and provided quick quote. His quote was comparable to other masons who competed for work. Colm had good ideas for design of fireplace and understood it was mainly for aesthetic appeal, but needed to be able to accept a pellet wood stove if the electric heating option was unfeasible. Colm presented sample bricks and stones for the fireplace from which to choose. We accepted Colm's design suggestions for the mantel. He estimated the job would take 2-3 days and he kept to that schedule. He had only one short change of the starting date. He was organized and tidy and cleaned up well after completing the work. The fireplace came out looking great. There is a thin residue on the bricks after the mortar dried, and Colm has said he will return with a masonry cleaner to wash the surface clean. Our basement refinishing is a work in progress, but the fireplace will be the attractive center of the room.

Great experience. Very easy and reasonable to deal with. Honest and straightforward. Showed up with the crew as planned and keep us updated on any changes/issues he was seeing. Extremely transparent in his working and followed up to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction.
