They did a professional class job and it stood to me their friendliness and how they took care of sessioning off the room so that's would not get everywhere.

I originally hired Cliff a couple of years ago to refinished our hardwood floors at a previous house. He did a great job on it, so I decided to ask him to install new hardwood floors at our new house. Again, he also did a great job. Cliff is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. The quote he gave us was also reasonable. I highly recommend Cliff for hardwood floor refinish or installation.

Cliff and his team did an excellent job. He listened to what I wanted (to turn my orange-looking red oak floors to a nice light, natural oak color using Bona Nordic.) It came out so nice, I asked him to add another area of the house and he gave me a fair price and added it to the project graciously. I smile everyday when I look at the floors. I wish I had done this years ago. Cliff was great to work with and the results are amazing. I highly recommend Superior Hardwood floors!

We wanted to replace an old carpet in our living room with a hardwood floor and we could not be happier with the outcome. Cliff lived up to the name "Superior". During the job, we had to live in essentially half the space downstairs, but Cliff minimized the impacts to us by keeping the area clean, keeping it ventilated and getting the job done in one week. The floor looks great, the price was right, and Cliff is a pleasure to meet.

Very pleased with the work done and pricing was reasonable. On a job that is difficult to keep the dust down there was minimal dust I had to clean. Was punctual and professional during the whole process and I would use them again.

We are so glad we used Cliff and Superior Hardwood and couldn't recommend him enough. He refinished all the floors in our bedrooms and great room as well as the stairs in our home and everything looks amazing. These floors had carpet and he took the extra time to get every single staple and nail up and clearly takes pride in his work. We also had hardwood installed in our kitchen and breezeway and he matched everything perfectly and blended in the wood with our older floor. Again, top notch old school work and dedication to a craft at very reasonable prices. I wish our other contractors were as meticulous and detailed as Cliff. Highly recommended.

Excellent work! I’ve been wanting to rip out carpeting and refinish my original 1910 hardwood flooring for years. Cliff and Superior Hardwood Flooring came highly recommended. He was very responsive, and after we discovered the original flooring wasn’t in as good condition as we thought, he explained my options. Cliff honestly told me most people would opt to just re-carpet, or he could patch and refinish but I most likely wouldn’t be happy with the results. I opted to totally redo the rooms with new wood. Cliff recommended the best match of wood, used quality materials and did beautiful work! I’m very happy with my new floors! I contacted Cliff to have my hardwood floor refinish. Cliff is flexible and attention to detail. He promptly a quote without any sales pitch or pressure. He finished the work as scheduled.

We had our two bedroom hardwood floors and hallway finished very recently by Cliff of Superior Hardwood Floors. One of the rooms was carpeted for close to 30 years. We tore up the old carpet and tack strips and what we saw underneath was a heavily stained hardwood floor that I thought would never clean up. We were pleasantly surprised that the floor finished up better than I could have ever hoped. Cliff did an excellent job and even finished our hallway for the same price even though it wasn’t included in the original quote. I had previously requested an additional quote from another company and was shocked to see the price comparison. Cliff’s quote was less than half of the other guys. I can’t say enough good things about this company, the work was done on time and the floors finished up beautifully.

We had just purchased a home with two floors that were nearly completely Hardwood, some spots had some gouges, some spots had scuffing, and all of it needed a good refinishing. Hired Superior Hardwood to go through top to bottom (stairs included), sand it all down, patch some areas, and apply several coats of oil based polyurethane over the course of about a week. The results are fantastic, and my wife and I are both very pleased. The floors look absolutely beautiful and the new look was worth every penny. All of the work was done by the owner (Cliff) and one employee, and you can tell they know what they're doing and take pride in their work. Cliff answered any questions I had along the way and they did a great job cleaning up afterwards. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

The project went as scheduled and at the quoted price. This work included the removal of existing carpeting and the installation of oak hardwood floors in six rooms (approximately 1,600 square feet). My prerequisites were for the installation to include mahogany border / inlay wood in a great room to match the existing border in the dining room, and the undercutting of the baseboard versus the quarter round used by many other companies. This inlay included a double interlocking square pattern in the middle of the room. The design and installation came out beautiful. The four bedrooms upstairs were completed over two different periods allowing for us to clear out two rooms at a time and letting the three coats of polyurethane to properly cure. The upstairs had an existing hardwood flooring in the hallway, which Cliff’s team cut back to weave in the new flooring and then refinish. This came out seamlessly and to look at the finished product would leave you to believe it had been all installed at the same time. Cliff’s pricing is very competitive, he and his team showed up on time for both segments of the project and the quality of the work is outstanding. I would definitely recommend Superior Hardwood Flooring for any new, replacement or refinish work.

I called the company several times, and he did eventually call back and set up an appointment to come evaluate the floor to give me an estimate, but he never showed up. He never called to cancel or change the appointment, he simply didn't show up. Unprofessional and would never hire him.

I hired Cliff from Superior Hardwood Floors for a second time to refinish two hardwood floors. Like our first experience with Cliff, the project went well. He gave me a fair estimate, and showed up on time each day. He and his assistants were courteous and neat. The floors look great - they were sanded evenly and the finish is smooth with no bubbles or bumps.

I had a sizable hardwood flooring job, and I started researching online to find a great contractor. I was getting rid of carpeting in 3 large bedrooms. And, I am also doing a kitchen remodel, so I needed hardwood weaved into my existing flooring where a large closet had been removed. I saw that Cliff from Superior Hardwoods was getting fantastic reviews, so I gave him a call. He came over quickly to measure, and he gave me a very good quote (better than a large flooring company in Boston). Cliff was super nice, and he gave me a few suggestions on how best to do the job. I could tell that he was a perfectionist. And, I liked that he was a local small business owner who would treat me well. So, I called him back a day later and scheduled the job. He and his crew arrived and went straight to work. His workmen are all part of his family/relatives, and they’ve been in the business for several decades. They were fun to chat with and very neat as they worked (kept dust contained, etc...). When they finished at the end of the week, they had also buffed and coated my entire first floor with a fresh coat of poly. I couldn’t even tell where the new flooring had been weaved in. Cliff and his gang had delivered yet another spectacular piece of work. So, thank you Cliff for everything. The 30+ years of experience you have definitely translated into a perfect final product and a super happy customer. I encourage anyone reading this review to give Cliff a call and have him work wonders in your house, too.

Cliff and the Superior Hardwood team did an exceptional job in our recently purchased home. Our home was ~30% hardwood with some carpets in rough shape and we wanted to have full hardwood floors before we moved in. Superior Hardwood was able to come and do the work before ahead of our move-in date. They seamlessly blended the previous hardwood floors with the new ones and refinished the old floors. The wood is continuous from room to room and it looks amazing. The entire job ended up being ~ 1700 sqft. 5 rooms and 1 long 2nd floor hallway. The total cost was $16k and took 2 weeks. Cliff was very communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. We were responsible for carpet disposal ourselves. Superior Hardwood would bundle it in 3ft lengths as required by my towns trash pickup in North Reading. Since we had not moved out of the home right away they even put out some bundles for us on trash day. I would certainly recommend Superior Hardwood for anyone looking to have a knowledgeable, communicative, professional install their hardwood flooring.

Cliff did an excellent job repairing, sanding and refinishing my hardwood floors. He was able to repair large holes in the floor from radiators that were removed years ago. He found pieces of wood that matched perfectly, and you can't even tell they're not from the original floor. Sanding and refinishing was performed to perfection. Floors look great, and Cliff finished the job on time. Would definitely use his services again!

Cliff is the most amazing hardwood floor installer I have ever met in 20 years of home projects. The Superior Hardwood Flooring staff are one of the most professional people I had the pleasure to work with. I found Cliff and his company on AngiesList. I needed to install hardwood floor in 4 bedrooms with a walk-in closet to remove the carpet. Cliff is a super nice guy. Hard worker, he has a gift to do this craft. He said what he was going to do and was there on schedule. He first removed the carpet, nailed down squeaky spots, installed 1000 sqf of red oak unfinished, sanded by hand and machine and applied 3 coats with re-sanding between each. The floor is so smooth, clean and great looking, we could not be happier. He gives fair quote with superior top quality! He was able to get the installation to fit with the rest of the house better than I would have ever imagined. I have recommended already Cliff to a couple of friends doing now some hardwood floors.

Cliff advised us after we described our need, kept the schedule and cleaned the proeprty each day. The floors look great and I have already recommended Superior to neighbors.

Cliff Winsor was remarkable to work with. He will not be the cheapest, but definitely not he most expensive. I can say that he is the best for the results you will see. The old carpeting was pulled up and included in the project. The carpet was cut and rolled in small 4' sections that made it easy to get rid of. The flooring in these two rooms are the most solid of our entire house.

The wood was done well and in a timely fashion. Cliff was responsive to changes in our work plan. He was very accommodating and worked to meet our scheduling needs.
