 + -1 moreThe service includes the installation of a new unit of furnace, water heater plus vents and 2 thermostat. He made sure that everything works well, and he also removed my oil furnace. explained how economical to convert from oil to gas furnace. I've had no problem with him doing minor plumbing works for me as well. He is willing to discuss everything with me on the things he was doing. I highly recommend him to friends and families unequivocally. He is a very nice individual.

 + 0 moreMatt left his apprentice to fix the faucets and did not inspect his work. I later found that the second faucet (that Matt recommended be replaced) leaked like a sieve once a hose was attached. I called and texted Matt, but he never responded. I will now need to hire another plumber to fix his shoddy work. I do not trust this plumber and would definitely NOT recommend him!!!!
Description of Work: I hired Matt to fix my upstairs toilet and fix an outdoor faucet that was leaking. When he came, Matt told me that both faucets needed to be replaced.

 + -1 moreI scheduled him to come out on a Saturday but he never showed or called. I called him that Monday and he apologized, saying he mixed me up with someone who canceled. OK, mistakes happen. He said he would call me back with a time but would definitely have it fixed by Wednesday. Its Thursday and I haven't heard anything. If you are too busy just let people know so they can find someone to get their problem fixed.

His prices were in line with others and he made sure I knew how to check on and operate the new piece of equipment. Very professional service. I would definitely call on him in the future. Price included the heater itself, installation, and removal of the old tank.
Description of Work: Needed a water heater replaced. Of course, the only time you need that done is when the one you have fails spectacularly. Luckily I was home and heard the leak starting so no major flood damage.

He was familiar with the system we have in our home. Our home is a little older and it was important to us that he be familiar with our system. He was really professional and gave us some really good tips for getting through the winter.

 + -1 moreMatt did a great job! He listened to my requirements and we discussed different methods of acheiving my desired end result. What looks simple can be challenging and Matt was very patient with me and explained the process. He arrived on time, after the initial consult and proposal a week earlier, and we went over the plan again and then he and his assistant got to work and finished in about 4 hours. The end result was perfect and very professional.
Description of Work: Replaced 4" dia cast iron waste stack and rearranged three tie-ins from above. This was to facilitate finishing walls/ceiling.

 + -1 moreThis plumber is the closest to an action hero as you will find. He had come out to work on my oil tank so it could be moved and was honest that nothing needed to be done. Instead of collecting his fee and leaving he asked if there was anything else to be done and just killed the list like clockwork. Unless he retires at some point, I have a plumbing and heating guy now (making me the envy of my friends).

He methodically checked what it could be and then deduced it was due to the heavy rains and my needing to extend the outside water drainage gutters away from the home. He was honest, competent, professional, trustworthy, and prompt. Who could ask for more!!! I highly recommend his services and will use him in the future for my plumbing needs. EXCELLENT and REFRESHING!!
Description of Work: He was incredibly responsive and was in the area and came by my house within an hour to give me an assessment of my water leakage problem. He ended up advising me honestly and in this case I did not need his services.

 + 0 moreWe called Matt after our hot water heater broke on a Wednesday. He called me back within 5 minutes and tried to help me troubleshoot our issue over the phone. After we were unable to determine the cause over the phone he then offered to call the manufacturer of our 2 year old water heater for me to see whether or not it was still under warranty. He didn't have to do this and I found this to be such a kind gesture as I was home alone with my busy toddler! This all happened at 5:00pm and he then told me he would stop by first thing Thursday to see what was going on. As promised, Matt stopped by our home, to further a**** what may be going on and it was determined that a piece needed to be replaced. He drove from our home in North Reading to Watertown just to pick up this piece. We were more than grateful for his sense of urgency, kindness and willingness to "go the extra mile" for us. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will certainly call him, should we have any issues in the future. He is a great guy with a sense of humor and when you have no hot water, a sense of humor is certainly welcome. :)

As a single women, with little knowledge of plumbing, I anticipated getting ripped off, but his price was very reasonable. MJ was articulate, friendly, and cleaned up after the work was done.
Description of Work: Very Responsive! I noticed MJ Digby on Angie's list and he was also referred by a friend who had issues a few days before me. I left him a message Sunday 10/28 during a Pat's Game hoping I'd get a call back by the next day. I was floored to have him call me back within 5 minutes. Since 10/28 was the eve of Hurricane Sandy, I was hoping for him to come by mid to late week. He was able to come Monday, 10/29 at 9AM. He called me when he was on his way. He snaked the drain and explained the issue. He also gave me a little lesson in pipes and plumbing.

 + 0 moreAs previously mentioned, everything went smoothly and efficiently. It is by no means a quick job to replace those tanks but Matt worked as quickly and efficiently as possible and got the job done.
Description of Work: We woke up on Sunday to find our hot water tank had sprung a leak and half our basement covered in water. We left Matt a voicemail and he called us back in less than 10 minutes. He filled us in on what to do in the meantime since he could not get the tank until Monday morning. He said he would call by 8:00am the next morning. Sure enough he called right on the dot AND he had already researched the water tank for us. He ended up saving us about $1,000 because he found out that the tank had a lifetime guarantee. He came by himself, worked efficiently and neatly. He replaced the tank (and took the old one with him to dispose of it) and and bled all the radiators to make sure everything was working properly. To top it off, my parents (who live nearby) have had a lingering problem at their house and he made time to go down there immediately after finishing at our house to take a look....even though he had other appointments that day. I have not seen service like this in a long time....he goes the extra mile and actually does his best to help you save money when possible. We cannot recommend Matt highly enough - he is excellent.

Description of Work: Significant refurbishment of entire bathroom, with replacement of all plumbing items, and re-plumbing of hot and cold service. Matt came within a few days of my call, looked over the job thoroughly, and made some very constructive suggestions as to how to go about the job, what to do, what not to bother with. He insisted on replacing all the lumbing in the bathroom, so that his work could be clearly separated and identified...since the job was in an addition to the house, I was very happy with this approach. He came on the day arranged, took precisely as long as he stated, made one passing-by visit gratis when we appeared to have a weep from the roughed in shower valve, and completed the job on-time, on budget, and in good cheer.

 + -1 moreHe is a licensed plumber. He came out on an emergency basis. I think very highly of him. I spent about $250. He understood the level of emergency and came out. It reduced my problems significantly. I had him come back out for another project I was considering, which had to do with moving some heating vents. He told me not to do the work. He told me that the cost of moving would not save me money. I like him because he is thoughtful and he clearly knows what he is doing. He is a nice contractor to deal with. I would recommend him without reservations. I will use his services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used MJ Digby Plumbing & Heating for plumbing services, eight months ago. He replaced the sump pump.
